Yes Yes Yes, it's only pre-season, blah blah, and this is why they play the games...I know all that, but today is today, and the "right now" is all we have.
Unless there are some drastic changes on either team, I see no reason the Eagles can not easily dispense with us. Also true for the Cowboys and the Redsk....errr...Washington. In fact, they looked scary good. They are humming at mid-season form. 17 seconds in between plays is insane. Their offensive line was literally just pancaking the Steelers, not that the Steelers are a measuring stick, but this is the NFL, and that should not happen play after play.
This is not a "give it all up without playing the season, it's over" thread...It's just an observation, I'd watch my Giants even if I thought they were going to lose all 16 games.
BTW - This thread is in some form my yearly accolade to the Eagles before the season starts. My thinking is that in my own distorted world, I must do this, for it will somehow jinx the Eagles so they don't hoist the Lombardi at the end of it all.
Pile on BBI, and be sure to bring up some of my irrational game day posts! Haha....
Oh, wait.....
1) Will some Defense in YR 2 show a blueprint for stopping them?
2) Shady is the best RB in the league right now. Any chance of slowing him down
3) Foles threw 2 picks last year. 2! That happens again the rest of the division are doomed.
I'm not too high on our team this year but to just dismiss the entire thing before it starts is silly. What the hell is even the point of being a fan or watching games if you're going to do that?
If any team looks good for any small duration, we jump on the bandwagon.
Do realize they looked pretty bad in Games 1 and 2.
BTW, is it me, or are the left tackles in the NFC East(besides the Giants) some of the best in the NFL?
I mean...who knows...but ok
Right now is all we have. Great, lets all stay in the moment, but right now changes every day. So an injury here or there...a sudden improvement in the Giants and it all changes.
We can discuss this all day(and we should this is why we are on this site)but things are going to change a lot by opening day.

Yup, and I hope after we play the Jets tonight, I feel stupid for posting this.
You are basing this entirely off games that have zero meaning. Literally zero.
They are meant to test out gameplans, earn roster spots, try new things, etc.
Do you think the Eagles defense will be good? Do you think Maclin holds up for 16 games? How about Foles and the O-Line replicating last year?
I'd say all of the above are huge question marks.
Dude is just acknowledging that they look good right now. We'd be feeling pretty good if our team looked like that. Hopefully we will get lucky like we did last year and win a bunch of games against backup QBs.
Second, Eagles offense will go as far as the o-line takes them. I watch almost all of their games as one of my best friends is an Eagles fan. Foles will have HUGE problems if you can pressure him. No one has.
Third, the Eagles defense has a lot of issues.
Fourth, the Eagles have some serious placekicker issues
Other general Eagle comments:
1. Ertz and Celeck may be the best TE combo in the league.
The rookie receiver, Mathews looks very good
2. They have much better RB depth than they have had in the past
3. Their first round pick does not look good - so far.
4. They have had virtually zero injuries and none to significant players.
if we are going its just preseason way, the Gmen are in first place?
I am in the minority, but I still expect the Giants offense to light it up vs Detroit on Monday Night football.
Having to watch that while our offense looks like it's moving in water-logged clothing is going to be very frustrating.
The Giants won the SB in 2011, and now they're projected by most for a poor year. Things change fast in the NFL.

Well, it's the backups winning these games against other backups. So the 3-0 is really the absolute most irrelevant part of all.
One long run in the second.....
Nothing in the third.....
They have to show something against the Jets.....if they don't, Coughlin may have the starters play the whole last preseason game.....
The Giants are not a good football team right now, but all they need is a few things to break right and they're at the top of the division. Anything can happen.

1. SEA 2 SF 3 GB? 4. NO?
I actually think, SF is going to take a step back this year with their injuries on defense, but we're talking on paper and last year's success for the moment.
The Eagles have NO LEGIT pass rusher. Zero. Our sack leader will have 6-7 sacks -- maybe.
The O-line is old. Mathis and Herremanes are the 2 oldest guards in the league. They could slow down at some point. Herremanes wasn't all that great last year
Depth is kind of thin. Maclin gets hurt every 10 plays. Outside of Maclin the WR Corp is a rookie and Riley Cooper.
Foles is going to throw more than 2 INTs all year
I still think the Eagles will win the division as it stands now. They will have a legit offense , but at best an "effective?" defense.
I don't think they are talented enough to win it all yet. A lot of question marks
The division does suck though. It really does. DAL and WSH will be horrible.
McCoy is their big play threat, and they've got a good OL. But Maclin isn't his old self, Jordan Matthews is untested, and Riley Cooper is not a game changer. Celek and Ertz are both good possession receivers, and they'll help Foles move the chains. But I actually fell pretty good with our current secondary lining up against their receiving corps.
The defense seems mediocre at best, and good offenses should have success against them.
Philadelphia will feast on weak teams: they play Dallas and Washington twice, Tennessee, Jville, and Houston, and that should give them seven wins right there. But I'm not sure how they handle the tougher part of their schedule, which means the key to their season might come down to their two games against the Giants.
but ...
They only way they'll get closer is if we move our stadium and trophy case towards South Jersey ...
evidence continues to mount that it's a personnel issue here - we've lost almost all of our warriors and haven't replaced them
Eagles came with a true uptempo and some nice play calls with deceptive tactics. It was fun to watch them completely dismantle Pittsburgh. That said, it is preseason.
I mean...who knows...but ok
This.... What ever happens in pre season should stay in pre season. Last week they were bums this week they're super bowl champs. Let them play
Philly, Dallas, and the Redskins should score points pretty effectively. They'll all be way more entertaining to watch than the Giants. But I don't think anybody will run away with the division because all of their defenses are really bad.
