Frustrated he's not getting the looks he should be getting. He also said he's finding it hard to grasp McAdoo's new offense. We need a Vet to shake these young guys up! That's not Eli's M.O. and I don't think Cruz is that typeeither.
if he said he's having trouble grasping this offense then I give up. RR's MO his first year was that of a lazy rookie that didn't spend much time trying to learn Gilbride's route tree. Last year he supposedly started trying harder. Now, with a simpler and less complicated offense where other receivers have said they don't need to think as much, he's having a hard time grasping it?

Sheeesh.
Bold, it was just reported on NFL Insiders in their per game review.
I can't find a link as of now. It was on ESPN's NFL Insiders and when they went to Giants stadium ;-)the reporter on scene reported it. Will try to post link as soon as ESPN posts it.
Jints, I believe he's played his way onto this team. He may not start out of the gates, but if he gets the opportunity to dress and make a few plays, he may up the depth chart if the guys ahead of him (Ruben) don't perform.
Both are in the top 5 WR's as having special needs from the neck up!
Manningham had some mental lapses, but never to the extent where Randle routinely can't even seem to grasp basic routes or defensive concepts high school WRs should.
I really do wonder what the hell player Reese was talking about, when he was going on about he was NFL ready, would have a short learning curve, could run every route already, etc. when he was drafted.
the reporter could have been giving his own opinion of why Randle is struggling or relaying what he heard from someone else. The Giants have been pretty quick to call out Randle before so if they did this time, the regular beat guys will be reporting something similar soon…

much longer because he will be on the bench shortly when Washington, Harris or ODB take his job. The guy needs to learn the playbook and get separation. I mean he has only been running wrong routes for three years now. Its a shame because I think he is talented...he just doesn't have the brain power or he doesn't work at it hard enough.
I could see going in two completely different directions this season. He could have a bad year or a great year. Either wouldn't surprise me but I'm not in love with his skill set. I still think Jernigan has more game breaking talent but who the hell knows... Last year and this preseason haven't exactly screamed wr evaluation..
being repeated by someone else who it 'sounds like' was quoting RR.
Not that we don't have a crack reporting staff here, but I'll hold off on my overreaction. Until, you know, we get closer to something with actual quotes actually reported.

Vibe I will post the link to the show as soon as ESPN posts it. It didn't sound like, she was Quoting RR.
because I appreciate reading it and passing along things we read and hear are what the forum is all about but this sounds like it simply could be someone just throwing out some speculation just to have some thing to say.
Mara bitches because the offense is broken so Gilbride who claims, wink wink, he was going to retire anyway is all but forced out. The they bring in a guy who has never been an OC, never called a play in his life, brings in a offense that is 180 degrees the opposite of what they were running forever, and everyone wonders why the suck so bad.
I can't help but wonder how much better this offense would be with the the talent they have now especially at running back if Gilbride had the opportunity to run this offense as opposed to the junk he had to work with last year. I would venture to say we wouldn't be wringing our hands about how bad this offense looks if Gilbride were still in the fold. Like him or not.
That when Randle was drafted he was a polished and NFL ready receiver? So much for that assessment. This is what kills us. We waste multiple draft picks trying to fill anneed because our picks repeatedly dont pan out.
This comes from Josina Anderson's live report on Sportscenter:
Quote:
"Wide receiver Reuben Randle says that right now this Giants offense is going through a deprogramming process right now. Particularly that wide receivers group. Randle said that in their former coordinator Kevin Gilbride's system that "we had a certain yardage by which things were happening by, but now things happen by the clock"...and Eli Manning said with that three step and five step timing... Randle also added that, "look, it's not about us and feeling comfortable in an offense that was more deep pass oriented last year. He said what we're doing right now is trying to get adjusted, so running our steps, getting open in a shorter amount of time by a specific time.
(Interview follows with Eli Manning for 30 seconds before the live shot goes back to Josina)
"Meanwhile, Randle admitted to me that it's been a bit frustrating trying to get adjusted to Ben McAdoo's system. He told me, "You know, we see things in practice that we can do in the game and right now I'm not getting those opportunities, so it's a bit frustrating. He says he's trying to gain Eli Manning's trust, but he knows that it's a long system and he's a team player and all he can do is focus on what he can improve."
maybe if he did the latter, he would get the former?
Sheeesh.

I thought that was the look on his face when he cuts right and the ball goes left.
I'll look for link but I heard it and saw it with my own eyes, it was just on ESPN.
Wow, he looks bigger than I thought.

Haven't heard this. Is this your observation or something that is coming from other sources?

... it seems like [Randle's] work ethic is a real issue.

It's followed him since the draft, it's legit.

this is disappointing.
It appeared she was "quoting" Randle.
Remember when Brian Robiskie was the most "NFL ready" QB in the 2009 draft.
How did that work out.

I remember that well. I wanted Robiskie above almost any other WR that year.
Ha! I was trying to figure out how I missed out on a QB named Robiskie!

Randle says Gilbride's offense is too complicated. Now he apparently doesn't get this offense either.
Oh my.
