Rose, Curry, Harden, and Kyrie are the best perimeter players on the team. But out of those 4 players, Rose is really the only one with overwhelming athleticism that International guards just stand no chance against. Bullshit. Coach K and his teammates has been raving about him on a daily basis.

But spain scares the shit out of me this time around. This is the most vulnerable weve been in international play since 06. This could be spains best team yet even though pau is 34, and its gonna be in spain to boot.

Only up 5 entering the 4th vs brazil. Only up 5 at half vs puerto rico (was just 2 b4 a klay buzzer 3) and neither is widely considered a top 5 team in the field. The george injury and the durant withdrawal really kinda fucked this team in a lot of ways. Now they have to adjust on the fly and change the way they planned on playing at the start of camp

Obviously I am a homer, but Rose to me looks better than Irving. I thought Rose's defense was outstanding tonight. Obviously, offensively he is playing the role as true PG. But if they take Rose, as they should.... he should be starting.

I think the thinking might be that rose may not be able to go 5 games in 6 days, and they dont want to have to shuffle the starting lineup around during the tourney. Better for cohesion in a setting that already presents challenges on that front. Its tough enough to build team chemistry in this relatively short span. Then throw on top of that theyve already had to majorly shift gears post george and kd. I think they might just be looking for some stability and a lineup they can count on. Bringing rose off the bench makes it easier to handle him with kid gloves. We will see though

Curry is the best PG and easily the best shooter of the four you mentioned and that shooting skill is amplified in international play

dpin, whether or not who is the superior PG is irrelevant. Its clear as day that Curry is the best SG on the team, maybe in the world right now. Its jsut ideal to slide him there and let Rose/Irving distribute. Putting Curry at the point may waste his talents for this international format.

andre drummond made it, happy for him. Probably saved himself vs the dominicans. The general thinking was that drummond was a likely cut and plumlee and cousins were battling for a spot, but all 3 made it. Happy for drummond.
