Ryan is a very good defensive guy and our OL has looked real bad. ELI could get manhandled like he did last year against Carolina. No time, no running game and take a lot of hits. Could get ugly, unless they have been holding back and developing what we have not seen yet.

Giants don't have a TV broadcast for this game. They had the Giants announcers at the beginning of the Pittsburgh game, but for some reason switched end of 1st quarter
I've got better things to do than watch the Raidahs and the Packers. Like changing the air in my truck tires. And waxing the banister on the front stairs.
That's an insane game choice. There are more GIANTS fans in upstate NY than any team other than the Bills. And the Jets train in Cortland. Why the hell aren't they showing our game?
Resembling a pass rush. Holding on first real stop.
Are you guys watching the same game I am? On the play where they got called for holding JPP forced Geno to tuck it and try to run nearly immediately, and the only reason they stopped that 3rd down play was because Jenkins pressure forced a bad throw
he has nothing, no burst anymore... 4th DE run player only, if he gets more snaps than that, detriment of our DE and the same old tactics of coaching staff...
Short and long passes be blamed on oline...
macado has been telling eli to throw the way his
foot is pointed...I wonder if his mechanics
are messed up...well find out when nassif
gets in..no more excuses
Has Tom Coughlin said one positive thing about Jernigan this training camp?
The Giants would be doing a solid if he were to be cut. He's been here for 4 years. 3 games? Terrible special teams kick returner. Want him GONE. Just admit it was another Reese blunder and move the fuck on. Thank you.
I think so. I remember someone wearing that same number in 2011. He was pretty good.
He's basically had 1.5 good years while he's been here. He benefited playing with Tuck, Osi, Linval, Tollefson and whoever else. Just not a fan of JPP.

@JordanRaanan: JPP doing some stretch for team doctors. Doesn't appear to be serious. #giants should play it safe regardless. Keep him out of rest of game

Come on some type of drive needs to happen with the first team offense.
Hell they might not know what to do with a first down? I think they run off the field after three downs
Eli is part of the "problem," but it's really hard to assess him behind this horrendous line. At least Tom is changing it up, but will any combination work?
is as bad as I've ever seen it on any NFL team. I'm not sure we have one guy who belongs on an NFL roster, never mind starting
The worst part is, every year we give Reese too much credit. He completely ignores TE each round in the draft, and we say "don't worry, he has a plan". Then we realize, in the end, there was no plan. He literally thinks that the TE position is useless
Didn't know the likes of Geno Smith and the mighty Jets offense could move the ball all over the giants D. i thought the D was "solid". Oh wait, that is talking comparatively to our one-of-a-king offense. Biebel.
And we did nothing outstandign to upgrade either positions.
Best part is, based on the how the Giants do things, that Reese is probably going to be the GM for at least the next decade while both Coughlin and Eli see their careers wiped out this year (absolute most, next) and legacies tarnished by not being able to survive what he's kept handing them.

The whole offense besides Eli is a dilapidated mess. Eli is a good qb and can do well with an average supporting cast. The offensive talent is scary bad. Reese has to be blamed
tackles and missed blocks. But the bigger problem is the O. Whatever talent the D has will get exhausted earlier and earlier as we get later and later in the season. The O is just horrifically bad.
There is a little outcoaching going on down on that field as well
that our O line was shit. Gilbride knew this. He knew the O-line was not good enough to sustain long drives which is why you saw many home run balls. He knew we could not run which is why he created a running game with mirrors..mis direction plays, running on passing downs, etc.
Ask yourself this..
How many of our starters on the O-line could start for any of the 4 teams that made it to the NFC and AFC championship games last year?
coverage on an easily anticipated play. Lack of talent and lack of brains on both sides of the ball apparently. I get that the other guys are going to make plays, but all of them?
should have been fired lqst year with his hire ROSS. His personnel mangement has us where we are now. Instead they scapegoated Gilbride and hired McAdoo.

After 3 and a half games before I said a word.... This giants team looks worse than any other team I've watched this year...... Steelers with a close second.
but this team looks like s*h*t and if the officials are going to call these many penalties during the regular season, they are going to ruin the game.
It won't be preseason soon anymore and people won't have anymore excuses to make up for Coughlin, Eli, and Reese when Donald is playing 50 snaps, ODB is on IR and we start off horribly.

and pay attention to the play of this team. Flag or no flag...our O-line cannot block. We may get a penalty called in our favor but then one or two plays later we fuck ourselves. We simply cannot string enough positive plays together. You get a nice play with the Jennings run, then follow it up with a penalty, busted screen pass, etc etc. Gaining 4 yards on a running play is a huge accomplishment with this offense.

You don't think the overwhelming majority of people know this?
Schwartz looks as bad as last week. This is a shit show. And we wonder why Eli is so rattled on even the rare attempts where he has time...he;s feeling phantom pressure because of this. It's going to ruin him.
There really isn't a way to sugarcoat this. The online looks like a flaming like of dogshit, and if we are letting Geno Smith do this to us, just imagine what the rest of the league is going to do.
We're screwed. Aside from our third and fourth stringers, I've seen absolutely nothing to root for in regards to the offense.

Well, there have been a ton of penalties on the Giants, and in general in the NFL lately. It can be that our OLine sucks AND there's a shit ton of penalties being called this year.
@JordanRaanan: Bad break for Marcus Harris. Shoulder injury. Could hurt his chances. Will not return. Now Geoff Schwartz down. Injuries piling up #giants

The biggest indictment on Reese is how he consistently is forced to draft out of failure and not prevention. When you are force to draft because of catastrophic failures at certain positions, you lose value in the draft.
Its not a mistake that when you look at the 2 times we've drafted out of prevention the players were JPP and Prince. EVery other selection was motivated by failure.
I know he's struggled, too, but he's a franchise legend and he's gonna get his ass kicked this year. Somehow he stayed healthy til week 17 last year - not sure he makes it that far this year.

Pugh is an average to slightly above avg RT. Stop expecting pro bowl play
Eli Fucking sucks.... I know our line sucks but how many fucking years has he been playing football? He should know how to protect the ball instead running around like a little pussy as soon as anyone comes close to the backfield
whether Coughlin can still get his team prepared to play.
I would have benched Jenkins a while ago. He has given up on at least 4 plays. I get it, he isn't that fast and a DT but at least pretend to make a grab.
they do, but Eli looks awful even when he has time. He refuses to step up and the pocket to deliver if he's going to get hit. Same reason he has never been great at screen passes. He just looks scared.
Boone.
They have to move GS to RG, until Richburg = or> him, which is likely by game 4.
Wait'll next Thursday with a quick and sophisticated Pats D!
Eli will throw and just drop to the ground Before the inevitable hit.
I had high hopes for '14; now at this moment my highest Giants hope is Eli doesn't suffer a major injury.
on that oline better step up. Surprised that did not fire that oline coach. Line has been shit for years now, and he should have been more outspoken about talent replenishment. Just putting on new chair covers does not change the seating. In this case, Eli on his ass.
to bash when it comes to this offense is Jerry Reese and Marc Ross. Eli can't operate behind this line, it's clear. He has no line and no tight end, just OK running backs and wide receivers. Talent wise this offense is in the bottom 5 in the NFL outside of the QB
but also blamed Eli and got blasted by a lot of people on this site including mods..maybe I was a little right?
Maybe...but I really think what we're seeing is Eli feeling so uncomfortable after hit after hit after sack after strip that he is having a hard time just being himself.
and thrown immediately into a 2010's offense...Gilbride tainted him...would you know how to use a smart phone if you were pulled from the 80's into 2014?

I'm not sure Eli doesn't deserve some blame. In 2011 he was able to be successful even with a bad line. Now he looks like a rookie when he faces pressure.
For the offseason, I might have to change that up this year and do them in season too
I'm guessing sarcastic..either way, I enjoy them game reviews and keep them coming Matt!
Micky,
Yes, being sarcastic. I usually take a break from them to focus on the current season. But if things go South, watching games from 1986 will be more enjoyable ;)

Any QB taking hits and no confidence in OL like Eli, will hear footsteps when not there..I'm fearing the same for him.
take a 3-4 win season to getting any reaction out of the organization. Based on some of the poor fundamentals out there it is a possibility. The unsettling thing is that if it starts bad early things might not get better in the second half like last year.

I think the issue is that it's not just been one year behind a bad OL at this point. The Giants haven't had an even average pass blocking line since 2010.
2011, they sucked, 2012, they were a mixed bag of good and terrible that would make anyone's head spin. 2013, they were hideously awful. Here we are in 2014 and things look to be potentially worse than ever.
It would take a major toll on any QB. Especially with all the other issues on offense.
Make that 4 completed passes...with the last one to Kyle Wilson
QBs could survive behind this OL. But certainly not one as immobile as Eli. I still think he's part of the problem, but the OL is a much, much, bigger part. And Reese and Ross look like the biggest problem of them all. This is what you get from years of putrid drafts.

I disagree. It's going to be playoffs or housecleaning for this team this year.

Exactly. Even when its a screen and he knows the pressure is coming, he looks frantic and makes bad decisions. Maybe it has something to do with the confidence in the offensive line, but it definitely has to do with his mindset with being hit.
the Giants will fire Reese after this year if its as bad as it looks. I personally would fire him and Ross after the year and perhaps look at Polian as an option.
Schwartz is done and now it is Richburg's job to lose. Richburg will be the best Giant offensive lineman by the end of the year if he can stay healthy. He is absolutely the real deal. Just what we need and that is a talented tough guy. The very first play I saw him in college last year told me that this kid had the "it factor" and was going to be special.

Reese isnt going anywhere. nor should he. Coughlin will go before Reese.
we can all admit that eli makes mistakes. the throw to the sideline was idiotic. but honestly, how can you watch this game and think that the games (and season) hinges on anything other than the o-line.
with time, eli gets it done. end of discussion. when he's running for his life we see fumbles, forced throws, and "skittish" play.
RE: All that money paid to Shwartz and Richburg is the best lineman
but how many games has Eli ever started fast. I'm not saying that's what's happening but I was just thinking about it. I've always considered Eli a cerebral QB and it seems he has the other team figured out as the game wears on. Maybe he even has a better understanding of who's hot on his own offense as well. I think it's one of the reasons why he's a great 4th quarter QB.
and I bet Coughlin's willingness to change his entire offensive mindset will go over a lot better then the gaping holes on the team thanks to Reese's crappy drafts.
@JordanRaanan: The #giants offense has run 34 plays. Coughlin said they'd go 25-30. Would think they're done now. Go into season opener on rare high note
@art_stapleton: Best part of that drive was Rashad Jennings in pass protection, something Giants did not get, you know, at all last season from RBs. #NYG
I am heading to the beach and listening to the Jets feed on Sirius. They didn't mention JPP after the injury, so I couldn't tell what was happening. Thanks.
to evaluate the offensive line...changes were unnecessarily made (reinserting O'Hara in 2010, reinserting Diehl in 2012) or made by necessity (Pugh), which turned out to be right, but only because the staff had no choice.
Giants second team looks better than the first team..... Someone explain that....
It's preseason.
3rd game of preseason is as close to a regular season game. The last chance to make an impression. Ones play for the most part. That excuse seldom flies for that game, early part at least.

The two's didn't come in until the second half, they had a short field, and the defense is still fairly vanilla.
makes me feel a lot better. Eli looked sharp on that drive besides the dumb almost pick. Cruz also looked great on that drive. I'm also happy that Randle showed something today. Made a nice adjustment and grab on the 26yd reception early on and then was on the same page as Eli on the TD.
Our running game looks solid. I've been pleasantly surprised at Jennings, he looks good out there. The fact that he has relatively little wear and tear for a veteran RB makes me think he could be a nice signing for us. And then backing him up is a strong young power runner with good quickness in Williams. I really like the potential of this RB group. As awful as the pass pro has been, the run blocking has been pretty good.
to say this:
I think most of the negative posters on this game thread are blinded by their disdain of Jerry Reese and/or Tom Coughlin. The reality is, as bad as it looks right now, there is an awful lot of upside for this team. The offense and the O line are basically brand new, and it really shows a low football IQ to be so impatient with your overthetop negative comments. Were you sleeping during the past two super bowl seasons, or just still suckin on your momma's tit? Both of those teams looked like dog shit for long stretches, before they figured out how to compete and win. It's the third fucking week of preseason. So do the rest of BBI a favor, shut the fuck up and enjoy the ride. That is all.

No one was sleeping during the Giants SB's. But have you been sleeping since mid 2012? All this from ONE TD from the starting offense, lol, geez.
@Connor_J_Hughes: The impressive thing about Moore is one of his sacks and two of his plays on the run came against Jets starting line on first possession.

I love it. Eli is still the franchise and I hope we never see Nassib start a game with the Giants, but it's good to see Nassib show some real talent out there. At the very least he is boosting his potential trade value.

Thing is, no one was really going crazy but voicing their legitimate concern, for the most part. It's okay to show that, especially when the team has been bad for 1.5 years.

The Panthers have known issues on offense, as they've been trying to dig themselves out of cap hell and it's left them high and dry in certain places on that side of the ball.
There are fans that go OTT, sure, but most/many fans of theirs are probably understandably concerned about them right now, just like Giant fans can be understandably frustrated with this one, given all the obvious holes and how long the problems have been going on.
@Connor_J_Hughes: With Preston Parkers play as a receiver, along with value as a returner, hes playing himself onto the team. Potentially Jernigan off it.
Do the Giants think that not playing Washington will fool the other teams in to believing he has some issues that are keeping him off the field?. Give the kid a chance and play him because he is better than Jernigan by a long shot. He has actually played better than Randle has so far this year. Coughlin or Reese, who owns this one?
Conor Orr @ConorTOrr 5s
Marcus Harris returning to the field with his shoulder in a sling.
Sounds like he broke or dislocated something. Do they waive/injure him, or put him on IR?
He's shown enough they'll probably IR him for another go around next year. A shoulder injury shouldn't be a long term injury unless he's very unlucky. Giants have more than enough free cap space for the IR not to make much difference.

it just me, or is anybody else liking Gaines? Not just on that play, but on the next one, he blew his man off the LOS. Has also looked solid otherwise.
I'm not saying he is only getting a hint of pressure... I'm saying as soon as there is any pressure he presses the panic button. If you can't see that you might want to replay that DVR back.
He's getting pressure on EVERY play. And when he didn't, look what happened? He wasn't skittish on that drive, was he?
Really? The TD pass he threw he panicked then stopped when he realized no one was coming? I replayed it twice to see. Pathetic...... As said before by someone else.... Keep drinking the kool aid dude.
You have to compare the situations accurately. The OL for most of the first half was very poor in pass protection. The jets were getting pressure with no more than 4 and as little as a two man rush.
it is true that you really need to have a full off season (coming off combine and limited practice and playbook etc last year)to get going. Glad to see he stepped up.
Nassib's skillset is taylor made for this offense.
if the giants starting OL continues to struggle with pass protection, teams can just rush 3 and put 8 into coverage while still getting pressure. No qb can survive that for an extended period of time.
I'm not saying Nassib is the best QB on our roster but with a shitty O-line Eli is the least mobile QB IN THE NFL..... Nassib can evade the defenders a little better and can make it work. As you can see tonight.....
Until the line gets better Eli is going to have a lot of trouble.
enter the fucktard of the year award. Strong showing by him tonight.
Just stating the facts big guy
So am I.
I barely said anything about Eli this game. All I said was you are a complete fucktard, and each post you put up confirms it. So I said thank you.
yeah well all my posts that are offending you are about Eli.... Sorry to not be your Man-crush's #1 fan.... Eli when he actually did things for us has been great. He isn't mobile enough for our situation right now.

dep consistently overreacts to Eli criticism, but if you think you've been fair and not just overreacting for the moment yourself, you really ought to leave us and go hang out on Giants.com, like I said before.
shit that makes no sense and keep pounding it home and think you are right, you join the fucktard league.
Nassib looked very good tonight and has sewn up the #2 spot. But if you think he would look better than Eli right now cause he has played against 3rd-4th stringers, then you are clueless.
Its gonna be a long year on this board. Idiots like you will be clamoring for Nassib after Eli's first INT.
RE: RE: Someone Tell me why Washington is not playing with the 1st???
Nassib is playing against 2s and 3s, but it is undebatable that he LOOKS better than Eli right now. The problem is that we don't know if he IS better than Eli...we can't know that unless he plays against the 1s, and does it for a while. We won't know that unless Eli gets hurt.
Nassib does look better than Manning in a different situation. The point I have been try to make to the ones who think Nassib can step in to this starting OL and make everything fine are fooling themselves. This first 1's have been brutal, pressure coming from all over without the blitz. Manning finally got some protection at the end of the first half and things were back to normal. Too much focus is on the qb right now, the focus is and should always be OL first. They have to get their jobs done before anyone else can do theirs. I wish more fans would watch the OL during plays than the qb.
Really? The TD pass he threw he panicked then stopped when he realized no one was coming? I replayed it twice to see. Pathetic...... As said before by someone else.... Keep drinking the kool aid dude.

He should be ahead of Eli and Painter.... He's not playing like a little bitch.
Quote:
Not quiet..... Just tired of everyone sticking up for Eli when he's playing like a deer in the headlights. He's playing scared. No confidence and if there is ANY hint of pressure he runs scared.
I'd go back more. But I think you get the point. Like I said, strong showing for fucktard of the year.
so far. Think he has struggled, didnt like the throw on the INT pass, and want the team to be run heavy to start the year.
But if someone thinks Nassib looks better than Eli, then they look fucking stupid.
In our current offense i think he is RIGHT NOW. meaning right now with a shitty O-Line... Eli cant run he has cement shoes on all the time. On a team where he can have protection and be a true pocket passer like he is then he is hands down the better QB...
I remember reading that Nassib was accustomed to the WCO ideas
Thanks. Don't care if they are rookies ,developing players or veterans just want competent linemen. In a perfect world would like you prized OL Free agent to be starting but like Pugh stated in his interview the Best five will play.
THIS IS WHAT OUR SEASON HAS COME DOWN TO

Oy !

LOL!!
Definitely.
Peter I think it's only televised by Jets station and announcers
national game vs local. wow a cruz sighting
Drop by JJ.
That's an insane game choice. There are more GIANTS fans in upstate NY than any team other than the Bills. And the Jets train in Cortland. Why the hell aren't they showing our game?
I'll settle for Washington and/or Harris being moved clearly ahead of him.
Looked like his thumb.
During timeout, Antrel Rolle gets hand looked at. He stays on.
And of course the ridiculous penalties in the preseason continue.
Are you guys watching the same game I am? On the play where they got called for holding JPP forced Geno to tuck it and try to run nearly immediately, and the only reason they stopped that 3rd down play was because Jenkins pressure forced a bad throw
macado has been telling eli to throw the way his
foot is pointed...I wonder if his mechanics
are messed up...well find out when nassif
gets in..no more excuses
The Giants would be doing a solid if he were to be cut. He's been here for 4 years. 3 games? Terrible special teams kick returner. Want him GONE. Just admit it was another Reese blunder and move the fuck on. Thank you.
Absolutely pathetic.
But jesus if he ever has a bad year it could be a historically bad line
preseason ? he might not make it through the 1st half of this game
Beatty contract is an albatross and a financial loadstone on the salary cap.
we coulda had Lewan and Mathews
Will Beatty looks like trash
a turnstile..cut beatty. 7mil for that
we coulda had Lewan and Mathews

They still could have taken Martin.
defense looks terrible
Just sayin
Now JPP injured.
If he's injured... well, they're fucked.
are you fucking serious
JPP getting hurt sucks. Hope it's not serious.
Six members of the medical staff inspecting JPP right now on the Giants bench
That would probably be "better," or "less bad" than his knee.

Nice "block" by Davis.
You can't blame Flaherty for this.
A coach can't magically will players to stay healthy and/or not be this terrible.
At least we'll suck faster!
Who are the geniuses behind the scene at CBS?
At my college down in southern NJ we used to run this stuff easily with our eyes closed.
OL sucks
TEs are worse
And we did nothing outstandign to upgrade either positions.
Hell they might not know what to do with a first down? I think they run off the field after three downs

why not? his line has been a shit show 4 straight years running...
OL sucks

Reese isn't down there coaching. This looks like poor coaching more than anything.
Eli is part of the "problem," but it's really hard to assess him behind this horrendous line. At least Tom is changing it up, but will any combination work?
The worst part is, every year we give Reese too much credit. He completely ignores TE each round in the draft, and we say "don't worry, he has a plan". Then we realize, in the end, there was no plan. He literally thinks that the TE position is useless
OL allowing 4 man pressures. I still haven't seen a screen pass. The only good completion was the rollout back shoulder throw. Do we have a tight end?
defense was decent except giving Geno all year to throw.. No pressure
pretty much nothing to be excited for
fucking UGH
OL sucks
TEs are worse
And we did nothing outstandign to upgrade either positions.
Best part is, based on the how the Giants do things, that Reese is probably going to be the GM for at least the next decade while both Coughlin and Eli see their careers wiped out this year (absolute most, next) and legacies tarnished by not being able to survive what he's kept handing them.
Drafting Beckham over a OL was a mistake. I said it the moment we picked him. And that was before I knew he had a wooden leg.
Yep. This guy has a serious case of diarrhea of the mouth.
Quote:
is as bad as I've ever seen it on any NFL team. I'm not sure we have one guy who belongs on an NFL roster, never mind starting

The whole offense besides Eli is a dilapidated mess. Eli is a good qb and can do well with an average supporting cast. The offensive talent is scary bad. Reese has to be blamed
To be fair, if this was a "real" game, he might actually be paralyzed by the Jets' DL.
Ask yourself this..
How many of our starters on the O-line could start for any of the 4 teams that made it to the NFC and AFC championship games last year?
Fantastic.
That about sums it up
Reese will be fired at seasons end.
4 years in a row? did Kellen Davis just suddenly forget to block after leaving Seattle? Jennings forgot to pick up a blitz?
JPP shouldn't even be in this game at this point.
Wrong year. we should of had the first pick in 2014
Usually I am, not today pretty much got smacked with reality that it is going to be a long season.
after years of teams that made history or teams that ripped your heart out were always relevant.
feel bad for Eli. I want him to go into the HOF and these years of suckitude are just going to cost him...

So true. Coughin and Reese much bigger culprits.
agree
it looks like he runs too high but he's had a good pre season
Yea, the LBer play has been stellar...
At this point, you wonder if Eli would want to leave and go to a team that is at least minimally interested in protecting him.
The can call every other foul except late hits
Reese's big FA move to fix the OL. :(
But of course Buddle thinks the refs are doing a great job.
Holy shit.
Donnell with multiple holds. Good awful.
Don't worry because were drafting one #1 next years draft.
How does Jerry Reese explain the situation at TE to the owners?
It won't be preseason soon anymore and people won't have anymore excuses to make up for Coughlin, Eli, and Reese when Donald is playing 50 snaps, ODB is on IR and we start off horribly.
Sad when you wish you had the 2003 Giants offensive line.

If you're watching this game and thinking Eli is the problem, I don't know what to tell you.
I've been critical of him when he's deserved it and obviously he's got a ton to work through himself, but no QB is going to succeed here right now.

I don't know Dave, how many complaints in this thread about the penalties so far?
We're screwed. Aside from our third and fourth stringers, I've seen absolutely nothing to root for in regards to the offense.
Good call. Hope it's not serious. He looks like he can play, and he's easy to root for.
Quote:

Well, there have been a ton of penalties on the Giants, and in general in the NFL lately. It can be that our OLine sucks AND there's a shit ton of penalties being called this year.

So it wasn't addressed adequately. They needed to be able to stop the run and apply pressure, none of which has happened..
Pugh is an average to slightly above avg RT. Stop expecting pro bowl play
Is NOT...
both.
A slow developing play with this line is going to only get another cart on the field, this time for Eli.
Cant throw the ball if no one is open.
And saying he is getting protection is just flat out stupid.
Could be the end if the season for Swartz. Never fails folks.
Eli with another fumble.
These guys suck. Holy shit. This is unbelievable.
Maybe they're just getting all of the garbage out of the way?
Not a toe
yep the fucking thing just died
Could be the end if the season for Swartz. Never fails folks.
Its a toe injury...
which at this point is straight down
Yep. It's down for me. I need a drink.
Geoff Schwartz has a toe injury, will not return.
Oh come on, why use preseason to, you know, fucking try something different? That's crazy!
I would have benched Jenkins a while ago. He has given up on at least 4 plays. I get it, he isn't that fast and a DT but at least pretend to make a grab.
If we can hold on through the night.
Fuck the NFL. The stupid penalties and now they can't run an streaming service that we pay good money for. Fuck them.
We're aware of the issues users are reporting. Operations team is investigating. Apologies for the inconvenience.
I'm guessing sarcastic..either way, I enjoy them game reviews and keep them coming Matt!
Maybe...but I really think what we're seeing is Eli feeling so uncomfortable after hit after hit after sack after strip that he is having a hard time just being himself.

If you're watching this game right now and thinking Eli is the problem, you deserve what you got.
Mook speaketh the truth.
I'm not sure Eli doesn't deserve some blame. In 2011 he was able to be successful even with a bad line. Now he looks like a rookie when he faces pressure.
Hopefully we won't delude ourselves like the end of last year by winning meaningless games

Any QB taking hits and no confidence in OL like Eli, will hear footsteps when not there..I'm fearing the same for him.
Guys, I was serious when I said this.
"Greg Buttle is terrible" truly cannot be said enough.
Quote:
to bash when it comes to this offense is Jerry Reese and Marc Ross. Eli can't operate behind this line, it's clear. He has no line and no tight end, just OK running backs and wide receivers. Talent wise this offense is in the bottom 5 in the NFL outside of the QB
I'm not sure Eli doesn't deserve some blame. In 2011 he was able to be successful even with a bad line. Now he looks like a rookie when he faces pressure.
But that is incomplete and should be overturned.
But still, Eli needs to stop that shit
I cant stand this shit
Right now i want everyone gone
Reese-coughlin-eli and lets restart
Word on Giants OG Geoff Schwartz is that it's indeed a dislocated toe. That's not terrible news for him
even if it's overturned, decisions like that are scary
I disagree. It's going to be playoffs or housecleaning for this team this year.

What you don't know is that Greg Buttle...used to be a Giants commentator, but was cut prior to the season.

Exactly. Even when its a screen and he knows the pressure is coming, he looks frantic and makes bad decisions. Maybe it has something to do with the confidence in the offensive line, but it definitely has to do with his mindset with being hit.
then he comes back with a beauty!
Word on Giants OG Geoff Schwartz is that it's indeed a dislocated toe. That's not terrible news for him
I assume it was the big one, at least, given the cart?
This service sucks. Last year the dsl speed was acceptable and even looked high def. This year speed is only 400 mb. And now it's out.
Terrible terrible. And watch out it automatically renews for next year unless you opt out.
And they never use Giants announcers.
I was joking around, but the word "antiquated" is no stranger when Gilbride's offense is mentioned.
Beat me to it. It's like night and day.
Reese isn't getting fired. He's going to be the GM of this team at least through the next HC/QB, maybe longer.
The Giants just don't fire GMs, historically.
Beatty knocked Coples to the ground then hurdled him to get downfield blocking. That's what happens when your LT is on. #nyg
garbage penalty.
That's where he should be playing. And starting.
Better protection.
Coincidence?
No kidding.
I will, thanks. Wow, look at that, when the O-line can give him some protection....
Better protection.
Coincidence?
Because Schwartz should be at RG . Where he played last year.
Agreed. I am really curious why the Giants are playing Schwartz at LG.
For the most part. He had a terrible whiff on either Sheldon Richardson or Quintin Coples (I forgot)
Reese isnt going anywhere. nor should he. Coughlin will go before Reese.
with time, eli gets it done. end of discussion. when he's running for his life we see fumbles, forced throws, and "skittish" play.
All that money paid to Beatty and Schwartz. That is criminal
Eli Manning was 7 of 10 for 89 yards on that drive. He is now 12 of 21 for 139 yards overall.
It says a lot about a guy that takes a beating over and over, never points fingers, and keeps coming like he just did there.

but how many games has Eli ever started fast.

The two's didn't come in until the second half, they had a short field, and the defense is still fairly vanilla.
Preseason.
Kuhn's injured
Pretty big experience differential in some of the skill positions with the 2's. The Jets still have some of their starting OL like Mangold in.

That was some horrible gap assignment on some on those runs. How is he still on this team?

Giants second team looks better than the first team..... Someone explain that....
It's preseason.
So Giants first team looks like shit for pre-season? I'm so confused

Very eloquent, sir.
Wonder if he reaggravated his elbow. Why was he even playing?

No one was sleeping during the Giants SB's. But have you been sleeping since mid 2012? All this from ONE TD from the starting offense, lol, geez.
This is the Jets SB. No exaggeration.
Team does something bad and the other guys say "Ha! we told you so. now STFU".
Rex has said it is a big deal. Starters will play until the 4th.
The Schwartz signing at least made sense and, assuming he goes back to the position where belongs someday, might pay dividends.
Jerry sucks, is a known asshole, and came in injured. He was quite possibly the least logical OL signing of Jerry Reese's tenure.
it's cruel and unusual punishment asking a rookie RB to run up the middle behind this line.
Team does something bad and the other guys say "Ha! we told you so. now STFU".
Hey! STFU!
LOL. What a buffoon.

Ironically this feels like a lecture.
This is his super bowl. He is an ass clown.

Do not apologize, you are 100% right.
Marcus Harris returning to the field with his shoulder in a sling.
Sounds like he broke or dislocated something. Do they waive/injure him, or put him on IR?
why should you care what others post? It's a sports message board, not a debate club.
Its entirely possible Vick is now a character guy. People can learn from mistakes and improve.
I honestly believe that.
Coughlin sucks.
Stupid Syracuse bias.
He should be ahead of Eli and Painter.... He's not playing like a little bitch.

He's shown enough they'll probably IR him for another go around next year. A shoulder injury shouldn't be a long term injury unless he's very unlucky. Giants have more than enough free cap space for the IR not to make much difference.

Barfs
Jets home game. So it is a CBS broadcast and Jets announcers.
I honestly believe that.
Then you never listened to Rob Dibble do color for the Nationals..
He's playing on special teams. They might not be playing him on offense because he's already made the team.
Quote:
Why is there no Giants broadcast tonight? I think listening to Buttle is absolutely the hardest listen in all of sports.

Isn't it that the away team gets the broadcast? Like if an NFC team plays an AFC in their stadium, it's on Fox.

Not quiet..... Just tired of everyone sticking up for Eli when he's playing like a deer in the headlights. He's playing scared. No confidence and if there is ANY hint of pressure he runs scared.
This sucks. Oh well

why should you care what others post? It's a sports message board, not a debate club.
I guess its just me. I don't care if someone sees the glass half full or see it half empty. So they have an opinion that may not be the same as mine ... so what?. Why people get upset about it is something I just don't understand. But again, thats just me

He dipped innocent dogs in electrified baby pools and watched them die in unimaginable pain and suffering.
Yep, character guy. Fuck him. He's keeping a low profile so he can make as much money as possible before he retires and goes back to being a piece of shit.
This sucks. Oh well
Me too..I remember from years past of doing that. Really miss listening to Papa.

Not with Jets and Giants. Last year it was Papa and Banks for Giants home game.
I'm not saying he is only getting a hint of pressure... I'm saying as soon as there is any pressure he presses the panic button. If you can't see that you might want to replay that DVR back.

Maybe. Vick shouldn't be called a character guy so soon after what he did, but I'm not going to condemn him after he's done his time and he's done nothing since to indicate he's the same person.
Especially when it looked like he might get a roster spot. Really tough for him.

He's getting pressure on EVERY play. And when he didn't, look what happened? He wasn't skittish on that drive, was he?
you know who.

Yeah, he just "fought dogs". Besides that, he's a great guy, a character guy even. Man of the year material. Maybe you're not familiar with the details of what he did:
Reminder: Michael Vick's Dogs Were Shot, Electrocuted, Hanged and Beaten to Death - ( New Window )
He got dinged.
Bowman as your 4th it was a long shot for many of them. Was hoping that Jackson would show something. LOL, Hosley may be the best of the rest.

Really? The TD pass he threw he panicked then stopped when he realized no one was coming? I replayed it twice to see. Pathetic...... As said before by someone else.... Keep drinking the kool aid dude.
But it can't be true.
Love how Williams is breaking then..
Jesus.
I was thinking Rex would put the starters back in to make sure he gets the snoopy..
But it can't be true.
LoL I'm seeing it with my own eyes..... Today he is definitely the better QB.
~WILLIAMS
did all catch the finger to the lips ??
Hahahaha
The first TD drive he was against the ones on defense.
He didn't look bad against the ones either. Not ready to replace Eli by any means but he has a future here.

But Nassib really seems like he has a handle on this "O" again, plays are getting off fast and developing a "tempo".

Wasn't the first one off the TO? Not really a drive.
Not taking anything away from the kid he looks great but lets not get ahead of ourselves with he is better than Eli at this point.
IMO he has proven why he was a good value for aa 4th round pick.
Might turn out to be a really good QB.
Until the line gets better Eli is going to have a lot of trouble.

I barely said anything about Eli this game. All I said was you are a complete fucktard, and each post you put up confirms it. So I said thank you.
Nassib locked up #2 spot tonight imo
Or he had already made the roster and there were other spots that needed to be settled

yeah well all my posts that are offending you are about Eli....

You'll enjoy it better, if nothing else.
lol
This was the first game I've seen Nassib play where he isn't shot-putting it. He is slinging it like an NFL QB
Maybe, I don't know. But how best to trim the roster has to be a big priority at this point for the coaching staff.
Quote:
Why?? Is Coughlin that stubborn??
Or he had already made the roster and there were other spots that needed to be settled
That.
Washington made the team before tonight. It looks like they wanted to give Parker and Manningham one last shot to see what they have,
But if someone thinks Nassib looks better than Eli, then they look fucking stupid.
But if someone thinks Nassib looks better than Eli, then they look fucking stupid.
Not a fair assessment. Is Eli better than Nassib. Of course. We haven't seen Nassib against the ones. but he's definitely looked better than Eli.
Yes, though it's worth noting that the Jets started keeping guys back more around then too (and did so much for the rest of the game, to be honest).
It wasn't likely all about Richburg, even just as far as LG goes.
I'd go back more. But I think you get the point. Like I said, strong showing for fucktard of the year.
Quote:
has looked good all night.
For the most part. He had a terrible whiff on either Sheldon Richardson or Quintin Coples (I forgot)
It was Jason Babin
