problem with keeping Harris, is that doing so only gives the Giants four healthy WRs for Detroit. Cruz, Randle, Parker, and Washington. Two of those are unknowns. We don't know when Beckham can play and be effective, but that certainly won't be against Detroit? The only way to solve that problem is to go with 7 WRs.
@ConorTOrr: Caught up with Odell Beckham after the game. He's still unsure if he'll work this week #nyg | http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2014/08/giants_odell_beckham_unsure_if_hell_practice_this_week.html
just looked like something was bad all around. Dr. Warren started cutting off the sock to look at it, and when they were wheeling him out on the cart, someone threw a jacket over his foot so the cameras wouldn't pick it up. You wonder if we are talking about an open dislocation or some other kind of nasty thing and if he tore ligaments in addition (hence the MRI).
As for Harris, unfortunately we've seen it before in this situation where the Giants take a player like this (undrafted free agent or street free agent) who gets hurt in the preseason, and they are waived with an injury settlement. If/when he's able to rehab it, maybe they bring him back on the practice squad.
@ProFootballDoc: No word yet, but if Geoff Schwartz injury is a dislocated big toe @ MTP joint, would be bad news for @Giants. Potential prolonged absence.

What happens if a single one of them is hurt in a game?
That was the question even if Schwartz was healthy. What happens is we lose one starter? Beckum might be great but waiting at #12 in the draft with Lewan one pick away was a gamble the Giants lost on. It should have been the two of the first three picks in the draft used for the OL. They used only one.
feel guilty because I was criticizing Schwartz for getting beat on that play. But if he needs surgery I would put him on season ending IR, as tough as that is to do. I don't want to use the one short term IR designation before the season even begins, and a toe that needs surgery sounds like something that will take months to heal. There is less blood flow in that area of the body, and of course it has to withstand 300+ pounds with every one of his steps. He will also be unable to train much if at all, and will therefore be out of shape.
As far as Harris is concerned, I think he'll be waived/injured. Not sure if we can bring him back later on, but I think this keeps JJ on the roster, just because he's healthy.
Marcus Harris coming back out to the sideline with his right arm in a sling. Not a good sight for Soup. #NYG

Tom Coughlin said Geoff Schwartz's injury is "serious ... It's hard to play with a toe that's not functioning."
Coughlin said he does not know much about Kuhn situation.

Caught up with Pierre-Paul after the game, said he was fine. Doesn't think knee was even an issue. #nyg
Geoff Schwartz will have an MRI tomorrow, which will be telling. Giants hoping for just a few weeks, not the alternative. Both in play.
Rookie WR Marcus Harris has AC joint shoulder injury. Out 3-4 weeks. "I hope they keep me around," he said. #nyg
I think they keep him around and carry 3 rb week 1 if Hillis is healthy and can play.

Or if Mosley can't hack it?
Possible. MRI will tell story. RT @ProFootballDoc: Dislocated big toe at MTP joint could mean surgery/IR. Hope not case for Geoff Schwartz
No way this current OL will hold up:

Dr Warren tried to put GS' toe back in place briefly before they loaded him on the cart and put the jacket over his foot.

Excellent question! Shoes? Tape job? Freak accident?
