Both QB's have looked bad and I don't think it matters much. Johnny Football was bouncing balls at receivers feet so he looks ready to go. Maybe they can re-sign Brady Quinn while they're at it.
He should just start Johnny Football and get over it.
Makes me wonder why they drafted him - they're looking for every excuse not to start him.
You realize Manziel looked like shit too right? Hoyers sample size is small but he was a legit starter last year. How can you justify throwing Manziel to the lions when he's clearly not ready? Just to "justify the pick"?
That's how bad teams stay bad. Knee jerk reactions to what the fans want. They are actually making the correct decision letting Hoyer start the season.
The Browns drafted Manziel to sell shirts and hats and get on MNF
Hoyer played well last year before getting hurt. The Browns won football games with him behind center. If Pettine platoons these guys, it's simply to get Manziel on the field so the folks at home can see him once in a while, not to win games. Even Pettine must know that Manziel is not NFL ready and IMHO, he never will be. His height works against him throwing the football, and his size works against him running with the football.

Yup. Totally haven't seen a quarterback less than 6 feet tall and less than 210 pounds have major success in the Super Bowl. Can't work, I tell you. Noooo prominent examples of that.
Oh, right. Crap.

NFL head coaches are some of the most insanely driven, hyper-competitive people on the planet. Mike Pettine spent the last 20-plus years of his life working his ass off to get to where he is, a spot that most NFL assistant coaches will spend untold hours working toward yet never achieve, and you think he's going to intentionally do something that he thinks isn't in the best interest of his football team?
