He's a stud at guard and can back up the tackle position for us. I think with Richburg at one of the guard spots and Boone at the other, this O-line looks very different from what we've seen so far.
think we should expect the worst based on last night, namely the need for a cart, and the fact that his foot was draped. Toes injured that badly take a long time to heal because there is less blood flow to that area of the body, and his toe has to support his 300+ pounds. He also can't train much if at all while he recovers. If he's going to miss half the season, put him on long term IR right now.
As far as Boone is concerned, the 49ers don't want to trade him, and would want a one or a two to do so.
He's pretty much like Schwarrz one good year following a lot of meh ones. We have pieces but cohesion and playing together. I think Beatty, Richburg, Walton will be a pretty good left side. Mosley and Pugh have the athletic ability but they need to play better. These 5 pieces can be a good line. That's Flaherty's job. I thought the run blocking on the right side was pretty good last night. ( would have been better if he TE play didn't suck balls)
Put him on the PS with higher than normal pay grade and let him know he is on the 53-roster but on PS until he is healthy. That would be an ideal solution especially with the expanded PS in play now.
That's interesting now
Think the Giants want to be lassoed by another big contract for an OLman, because they are desperate, like in the cases of Beatty and Baas?
