My draft was today, also a keeper and didn't work out exactly as I planned. I'm not unhappy with my team per se, just never unfolds how I expect:
QB: Nick Foles (4th round)
QB: RG3 (11th round)
RB: Matt Forte (1st round)
RR: Shane Vereen (3rd round)
RB: Ben Tate (5th round)
WR: Julio Jones (keeper 7th round)
WR: Kennan Allen (2nd round)
WR: Victor Cruz (6th round)
WR: Percy Harvin (keeper 8th round)
Bench/maybe not:
RB: Bernard Pierce (9th round)
RB: Carlos Hyde (10th round)
WR; Jordan Matthews (12th round)
WR/TE (no TE mandatory) Dennis Pitta (13 round)
WR/TE Ladarius Green (14th round)
RB: Knile Davis (15th round)
RB: Christine Michael (16th round)
WR: Aaron Dobson (17th round)
I need to drop two players and get a K and a D, but not an awful team (PPR, 6 pts per passing TD).
That's a really good team. I'm not crazy about your backs. Vereen should be solid but I'm not crazy about Tate. I've never been a big fan of his. He's in a good situation but I wouldn't bet on him. However, I really like Pierce this year. He could unseat Rice and you know he is starting the first two games of the year.
but in a ppr league I feel like if, big if, he stays healthy he'll prove his value. Belichick hates Ridley. The players who went after Vereen were Julius Thomas (non-TE mandatory), Wes Welker, and Toby Gerhart, none of who I felt was a huge upgrade over Vereen.
I can keep up to 3, and will do so. Here are my options and the cost for each:
AJ Green (8th) - no brainer
Zac Stacy (10th)
Andre Ellington (9th)
Shane Vereen (5th)
Gio Bernard (3rd)
It is a .5 PPR league. I have some good options, and can't decide which 2 to keep besides Green. I like Bernard, but the value of Stacy and Ellington is real nice. However, both of them scare me a little bit. Stacy was good last year, but he got a lot of carries, and averaged under 4 yards per carry. Tre Mason could also steal some touches. Ellington has high potential, but so far in the preseason I havent seen him do much. Also, I am picking 10th out of 10 in the draft next week.
I have the 3rd pick in a 1 round rookie draft. This is also a keeper league, so there's potential to keep this guy on my team for the next 3-4 years if he pans out.
Sammy Watkins was the 1st rookie drafted.
Currently waiting for the 2nd pick.
Standard scoring 12-team league.
Who would you suggest I target? I've got the following guys as all potential candidates - Hyde, Sankey, and Evans.
I'd go with Green, Bernard, and Ellington. Stacy at a 10th round price is very tempting though, I could see him having a prime Benjarvus Green Ellis-like season (lots of carries, mediocre yardage, double-digit TDs). But he doesn't catch the ball and that hurts in a .5 PPR.
That said, I could use some help with my 12-team keeper league as well. It's also .5 PPR scoring system with 3 keepers, but there is no draft-pick cost. After winning it all 2 years ago, my team finished dead last this past season and so my potential keepers aren't all too great.
Here's who I'm trying to decide from:
Matt Stafford
Chris Johnson
Stevan Ridley
Percy Harvin
Cordarrelle Patterson
Rob Gronkowski
Stafford & Gronk seem like no-brainers, but I can't for the life of me settle on a third. My league does count return yardage (1 pt per 25) so I'm sort of leaning towards Patterson, but the last time I banked on a speedy, big-play sophomore breaking out I saddled myself with David Wilson. Any opinions?
He really started coming on at the end of last season, and should do well in Norv Turner's system. The other guys on your list besides Gronk and Stafford have lots of question marks. I would take Patterson because of the upside.
Almost to the point where I'd just take Charles just because he's not an Eagle.
I'm the opposite I'd take him because he is an Eagle. I drafted Tom Brady a few years ago so I had some consolation as he lit it up. I had Dez Bryant two years ago.
I kept Julius Thomas and Gronk. TEs get 50% more points for yardage. QBs and WRs went early and often. I'm gonna try to trade for a WR.
Here is my team.
Romo
Bradford
Ball
Morris
Jennings
Joique Bell
Pierce
Ingram
Wright
Terrance Williams
Maclin
Julius Thomas
Gronk
Kelce

suspension aside (assuming none)
They are very close for me
Bell
Martin
Morris
Stacy (now with Bradford out for the year I think that hurts not helps stacy) might have had him just ahead of Morris otherwise.
