If you haven't been following our NFC East neighbors in Washington the last month, there has been QB drama brewing all preseason. RG3 has looked pretty ordinary, bordering on awful, against 1st team defenses while Kirk Cousins has played confidently and successfully leading the second units.
It may have come to a head last night, when Joe Theismann proclaimed at the end of the Washington broadcast that Cousins had outplayed Griffin, and Cousins should be the starter. As my buddy who lives in DC has told me, much of the sports talk crowd has been screaming the same for weeks.
RG3 is Snyder's anointed one, but Gruden has a archetype he likes in QBs and Cousin's fits. The QB controversy is on in DC.
Crazy that the RG3 era might be imploding already.
:)
Honestly, the entitlement some of the fans here exhibit is nuts. Do you realize the following: 1) Tom Brady is the only QB playing today with more championships than Eli; 2) Eli Manning holds the record for most passing yards in the regular season (2011) for a Super Bowl-winning team. No one in the history of the NFL has thrown for more yards in a season and WON a Super Bowl.
So next time you want to dismiss winning 2 Super Bowls, being the MVP both times, and holding the record for most passing yards in a season while winning the Super Bowl to compare that to a QB starting his third year in the NFL (RG 3) than please go ahead. Just please stop calling yourself a Giants fan.
Good times, good times.
Don't forget TC.
When you make one of those aspects irrelevant, he either has to learn to change his style or remain somewhat ineffective.
If Manning replicates last year, there damn well better be a controversy because that shit was pure bad.
But..... he is a 2x Superbowl winner.
If my aunt had balls...........
take in account the ol
I can easily see the Division winner limping into the playoffs with a 7-9 record.
And yes, that includes Philadelphia, which is going to have more problems in the passing game this year than last.
LOL...Holy shit!
Sure then TC can channel Dan Reeves and put Nassib in to throw 4 INTs ala Tommy Maddox. Eli is not the problem w the offense. It's the shit Reese has given this team on OL.
The good news is Reese will most likely ale some more WRs and DL early and sign a few more washed up offensive line whom the "in Reese we trust" crowd will insist don't suck regardless of how bad they play
And from what I've seen, most Washington fans are still solidly pro RG III and not buying into this... yet.
I can see reporters trying their best to stir up shit also. Good thing the coaches run the team and not the fans/reporters.
All it would take is another start like last years. The media will be all over it and the fans will jump on the bandwagon. And before you know it there will be "whispers in the organization from unnamed sources." Its already started on this board to a degree with people (knowledgable people) talking about how Eli might be done.
I dont know if he is or he isnt, but you can bet the cries for Nassib will come hard and fast if Eli doesnt pick it up. Doesnt matter what he's done in the past. People only care about the here and now.

We'd be going through the same thing

If my aunt had balls...........
How do you know your aunt doesn't have balls? Give your uncle a call sometime.
With regard to Nassib, I think he's secured the #2 spot. A great resurgence during the last two weeks. Painter is toast. They won't keep 3 QB's with all the other issues present on the roster.
Really? Now who is talking out of their ass? Eli certainly had little help but he made too many bone headed plays all by himself. If we are assigning blame for his performance he is certainly front and center.
