Preston Parker, Corey Washington, and Talley. They have all been impressive in their own way with Parker, in my mind being the most impressive of the three. All three seem to just have that know what to do factor when they are on the field.
To add to that, I really think Parker will replace Jernigan. I don't think Manningham makes the team and will be replaced by Washington. I know Beckham is waiting in the wings but I really hope Parker and Washington get playing time in the regular season if they make the team.
Washington.
Parker.
Gaines.
Don't see Talley making the team. Harris going to IR saves JJ.
Granted, these young guys have looked good in pre-season against backups but they haven't had live action yet. I don't like to judge too much based on pre-season games.
I think we'll end up carrying 7 wideouts. It isn't perfect but I would not be shocked to see that happen due to special teams (Parker) and need for veteran presence (JJ).
One thing that could possibly happen is a Green Bay cut coming our way??
They need a body that can play tackle.
Jj is only slot next to Cruz. ..
mara wants him to prove he can or cant play
also ..8 say we carry 7 wr...
on less te..
Gaines probably is out unless they're feeling good enough about Beatty (and Brewer) to let Brown go.

Letting Brown go would probably be addition by subtraction. There may not be an other Tackle on the team right now who is much better (outside of the starters), but there also doesn't appear to be anyone who is worse or who will stay consistently bad.

He was behind Harris who was behind Jernigan.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned Brewer. He's seen quite a few LT reps this camp and I'd rather not keep Brown and him if we can help it.
Coaches haven't been giving jernigan any compliments said he has been up and down
Gaines and Brewer have grades of 4.1 and 2.0 respectively. I'm not saying PFF is the end all be all of assessments, but reviewing the games shows both have played well, especially Gaines. This is only his second year in the league, and he played at a relatively small school, Tennessee State. He has excellent size and arm length. Here's his draft profile from nfl.com. He won't make it through waivers to the PS.
As far as Brewer is concerned, he looked better against Pittsburgh than he did against Indianapolis, but is still worth keeping over Brown.
Beatty, Richburg, Walton, Mosley, and Pugh as the starters. Gaines, Brewer, Jerry, and either Reynolds or a vet FA obtained after cuts as the backups. Herman doesn't count because of his suspension. Deal with that in a month.

Yeah, it is a typo. Other sources have him at 334-339.
Eric Herman looked good in spots too, I'd hang onto him if we can
Offensive Line roster is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Just a complete mess of guys that can be anywhere between Bad to Serviceable to Good depending on the play you watch.
All aboard the Gaines Trainz! Joey's buying!

So JJ is considered a veteran why? 3 catches in a meaningless game does not wipe away three years of no contributions

This^^^^.
I'd go Gaines and Asper over Brown and Jerry. Brown has looked awful and is hurt on top of it. Jerry isn't healthy and add to that hasn't looked all that great either. Gaines has size and potential. Asper is versatile and looked solid last week. I know it probably won't happen, but my 4 backups would be Gaines, Asper, Reynolds and Brewer. I know they are vets, but neither Jerry or Brown have shown enough plus both are nicked up. Best case scenario Schwartz is hopefully back in 6 weeks and the o-line depth gets a lot better. But for now, I think the 4 I mentioned are our best options as the 4 backups to Beatty-Richburg-Walton-Mosley-Pugh.
What the team does with Gaines might depend in part on the prognosis for Schwartz. If Schwartz stays on the roster as a medical scratch for the first month or two, it's harder to keep a project OL who won't dress: there's room for one at most. On the other hand, Gaines is helped by the absence of competition from Day Three draft picks. The Giants did draft a lineman (Richburg), but he will dress and probably start; so if they carry a developmental blocker, Gaines is competing for that spot with marginal prospects like John Sullen. FWIW, I think Gaines would clear waivers. There isn't a strong market for a small-school project in September - especially one on his third trip to the waiver wire.
The guy helped most by the Schwartz situation might be Dallas Reynolds. If Richburg is a starting guard, Reynolds is the only credible backup at center. That's a fairly important spot, considering Walton's health history. Although center is Richburg's natural position, his promotion at G might take him off the C depth chart for now, except as a last resort. He has his hands full learning to play guard.
The guy whose 2014 prospects were hurt most by Schwartz's injury (other than Schwartz himself, and maybe Eli Manning), could be Cooper Taylor. If the Giants use their designation for return on Schwartz, Taylor is likely done for the year. Ideally, Schwartz only misses a month or so, and can be carried on the roster. That would give Flaherty a couple of options for reinforcements in October, when Herman and Schwartz could both return. If that's how things play out on the OL, Taylor is the leading candidate for designation. Of course, Reese could keep the tag in his pocket; but the experience with Andre Brown in 2012 and 2013 seems to have taught the Giants that the designation is most valuable in Week 1, and that it loses value pretty rapidly as the season progresses.

I agree. I'm hoping Schwartz is only out for about 6-8 weeks. We can carry him on the roster for that long while giving the temp IR tag to Taylor. I think Taylor is going to be a weapon on defense for us since we play a lot of 3 safeties. If he can be healthy by week 10, that would be huge.
