Gifted OL I've seen on this team at this stage. He and Hankins have the physical ability to be not just good but great players. Moore is near there too, that could be three very big building blocks for when this regime is cleared out next year.
So he may have been wrong about Bromley (judging by one preseason). He still brings more to the board football wise than 99% of posters including those who do nothing more than trying to enforce positivity by rubbing seemingly wrong negative opinions in peoples' faces.
Where was he when I was getting shit thrown in my face for saying that the Giants should take Richburg at 43?
And if you can't take a joke - especially after making one of the more ridiculous, outlandish, and idiotic posts this side of Rich Houston - then stay the hell off the board.
Don't expect me to kiss the ring of the guy who sang Clint Sintim's praises for two years.
Not taking sides here, but, I think people expressed a lot of compassion on the thread that was designed for that.
By passion do you mean - dog-cussing people and insulting them when you disagree with them? Well, then yeah - I think that's the proper word to use.
Joey flames people so when they rub it in, regardless of whether the joke has been overused, it seems to me that it's done in fun with assumption that the flamer will take the ball busting in stride.
dorgan, there are few posters I respect more than you.
And I never had a beef with Joey - I always appreciated his insights - until the Giants signed Ayers and a Broncos fan came here with the 411 on him, which was generally positive. Joey went off on the guy with a post that was about as nasty as it gets. I made a joke about him being "off his meds," and he responded to me with a post that was even nastier, which really surprised me. I told him it was obviously a joke and that it should have been taken as such, and I got even more crap from him. At that point, I decided to throw some of his crap right back at him.
Fuck him. He's a asshole and a bully and it's apparent that he can dish it out but he can't take it. He's got problems? Well, who doesn't? Is that supposed to justify his coming here and acting like a dick? Are we all supposed to walk on eggshells around him just because he's going through a rough patch? I might consider it if he even once showed a little humility, but other than one self-serving post where he admitted that he'd been wrong about Bromley, he's all about "I know more about football than you ever will," and fuck this and fuck that, and you're a fuckstick, etc.
He is not God's Gift to BBI or the rest of the football world. He thinks he is, but he's not. He should take his ball, and his ridiculously thin skin, and stay the hell off the board until he remembers how to act like a grown-up, and not like a petulant little twerp.

Klaatu -this post seems pretty fair, until I went back and realized that this led off with your jumping in the thread busting Joey's balls unprovoked. Don't take this the wrong way, but that didn't seem much like "act(ing) like a grown-up" to me.
Scroll down to my 6:03. I made a post in support of Rogers Gaines. Five minutes later, so did Joey. I then posted a picture with a funny caption - something I've been doing since I joined BBI seven years ago - with the "Gaines Trainz" theme I've been using for the past three weeks.
You tell me if the picture and caption warranted Joey's response. I don't think it did. I was happy to have someone else on the "Gaines Trainz" with me, which was what it was all about. If that makes me a "fuckstick," then so be it. Coming from him, I'll wear that label as a badge of honor.
But, honestly, it wasn't meant as a shot at Joey. Just the opposite. I almost posted the same thing after Acid Test made a post supporting Gaines. I don't think he would have taken it the way Joey did.
And let me say one final thing...Joey probably does know more about football than I do. So when he agrees with me about Richburg or Gaines I feel pretty good. As I said earlier, we never had a beef before the Ayers thing, in fact I thought we were pretty cool with each other.
The Bromley thing? Meh...he could've told me what I told EG in this thread re Zack Martin, just give it a rest.
isn't much better than aggressive, so why don't you both give it a rest (although only one has found it necessary to keep up the tirade throughout this thread, so maybe only one needs to rest)

It isn't about walking around on egg shells... You are following him around trying to get him back for insulting you on a thread. Trying to get revenge because he hurt your little feelings in a post, so now you have to get him back.
Seems like the ridiculously thin skin may be a self reflection. You call him thin skinned, but you are still pissed because he insulted you so much that you are just posting the same stupid thing like you have never been wrong about a player before. Plus while I loved Bromley and was very high on him I am not going to be tooting my damn horn before he has even played an NFL game (preseason doesn't mean dick).
I find it funny you want him to remember how to act like a grown-up when you are holding on to hurt feelings, trying to get revenge and hurt his feelings back, attack him at all costs because he made you feel bad, BUT he is the one that needs to remember how to act like a grown-up... I am not sure you know what that means.
Look at Joey's first post. It was a perfect set-up for a Bromley joke. Fastball, right down the middle of the plate. George Burns asking Gracie Allen about her uncle. Lou Costello asking directions to Bagel Street. "Humor," as Dr. Yen Lo said. "Always with a little humor."
And there were at least a dozen different ways he could have played it off, without going where he went. Me, personally, I would have come back with something like, "You're right, Klaatu, I'll never shortchange him again." And then I would have told me to go fuck myself.

Well, they didn't, so give it a rest.

Around with Bromley jokes? Give it a fucking rest,
so with the many different ways he could have played it off he actually ended up saying the same thing you did. Give it a rest or fucking rest in his case. Since you don't like this response and it was the same response you just used, does that mean you are actually secretly upset with yourself? We can get into that more if you like... I just need your credit card info before we delve into your childhood.
Oh and yes the secret to a good joke is timing, fast ball setup, fast ball can be hit with proper timing, but sometimes the same joke gets old when repeated to often and it is also knowing when to not tell the joke so it doesn't get stomped on and boring.
In fairness, the comedy role models Klattu cites have all been dead
by your own admission, you know Joey has a thin skin, you know he doesn't appreciate your humor, and you admit you like to give him shit.
So what part of all that is supposed to make us think your 'innocent' joke was anything but an attempt to goad a reaction out of him? There are any number of ways he could have reacted to your comment, but you knew darn well exactly how he was going to react, thereby making it 'acceptable' for you to go off on him while getting a thrill out of dishing it out because you know he can't take it.
who deal in making absolute statements and judgments.
If you put yourself out there like that, very loudly and definitively, it should be expected that you'll get some of that back in your face when/if it goes wrong.
There's making prediction, and there's acting like an armchair expert. There is a difference between the two, and it's not that subtle.

I agree. But in all fairness, it's played itself out. Certain posters need to let it be and quit referring to it over and over and over and....let it go already
he actually admitted he was wrong, which is something that most people don't do. And really, he's not even "wrong" yet. Bromley is a 3rd round pick and about half the 3rd round picks don't do much in the NFL. Of course he was just a little bit on the aggressive side in criticizing the pick in the first place...so there's that.
I actually was high on Donald too but we have so many holes and I knew Martin could fill a major one.
They didn't draft him. He isn't here. Can we move on?

How 'bout those Jets?
Is he wrong once in a while? Sure.
That is no indication that he doesn't know the game.
He's also going through a difficult time right now. A little
compassion wouldn't kill anyone.
Also him reversing course after 1 preseason game.

But you agree they are captions, correct?
it happens, not the end of the world
They can't all be winners, but at least you're taking the shot.
Otherwise, yeah, people need to have thick skin around here. That shouldn't be news to anyone posting.
