This would be so huge for the Knicks. It would take a somewhat ehh FA class and make it pretty solid with Monroe, Gasol, Bledsoe, Rondo (i know bad fit, but its another guy out there), etc..
the Suns know that he would sign a max offer from them right now, and they still won't offer it. They have the best medical staff in probably professional sports and we can't afford to get burned by a guy with bad knees from the suns again.

They won't offer it because they have all the leverage in the world. They also know they have the medical staff reputation and that is playing into their leverage.
On the one hand this is an extremely weak class at the top relative to most years. On the other, big money (max or close to max) in 2015 wont be as big as when the new tv deal hits a year or two later, and over the life of the tv deal the cap and individual maxes will only continue to grow. Pretty bad time to hit free agency just before things change. I dont think we will be seeing guys take risks like lebron on a 2 year deal so they can be free again in the new landscape. Its a good spot for the teams though. Cavs may get a break with kevin love too if he chooses to opt out and re sign this summer

all the euphoria in cleveland has zydrunas ilgauskis attempting a comeback at 41, even though he was clearly done years ago. Last played in 2011 when he followed lebron to miami and was awful. The cavs retired his number last year. Highly doubtful this goes anywhere, but its crazy

You wonder if he alternates it based on competition. I would see Irving playing agaisnt the lower level teams and Rose against the Spains, etc. Coach K values defense and Rose is a better defender than Irving.
