I understand the season hasn't even started and he could be terrific in the new system. I hope he is. But he hasn't played like a top QB for a couple of years, and he may not be the same QB we remember. If he struggles and it doesn't appear that it's everyone else's fault, how many games do you wait until you give Nassib a chance? Personally, I would give Manning four games to turn it around. If the first four games of the year look like 2013, I'd yank him and give the kid a shot in Week 5 at home against Atlanta. I just don't want to watch Eli fumbling his way to another losing year. Cut the cord and try something else. With just four games played, we could still turn it around. And it's not like Eli hasn't had his chances.
I ride and die with Eli this year.
One more 2013-esque season from Eli means it's over imo.
no.
I'm not worried about him either. There's nothing wrong w him that a decent OL wouldn't help. Considering we have no idea that it may better or God forbid worse than last year that's what I'm most concerned about.
And I'm over here kind of glad it looks like Nassib is going to make the team and not be another wasted draft pick. Now you want him to start over Eli. Lol wow
Hi Tiki. Lol
Look for Eli to have a solid season with a lot less turnovers.
I do think there's a pretty good chance that he gets replaced in the offseason. I don't think there will be much of an appetite to pay huge money to an aging player in exchange for sub-par performance. My guess is that this year looks more like 2012, where it's below average/Carson Palmer level performance rather than last year's bottom-5 level. But you still don't pay that kind of money for Carson Palmer level QBing.
Of course it's Eli, so you really never know. There's still a chance that he'll come out and play like a good QB this year. Nothing would really shock you with Eli Manning.
Eli's career doesn't mean dick going forward. If Eli and the Giants suck this year, the FO needs to make a decision about whether or not they have to draft a QB Rd. 1 after the season. And they can't make an intelligent decision about that without giving Nassib at least several games to show what he's got. They may have already determined he's not the guy, but they have no basis yet to say he is the guy without playing him in real games.
I was actually a little encouraged by the last game. It made me feel like the line was still an issue but that Eli may be less of one than I had thought. Or at least I hope. We'll see.
TIME TO LET NASSIF DO HIS THING
I hope he learned from last year, that he can't do it all, and that he can't force the issue....
As for Manning and the reg season, if he's making bad mistakes out there you have to bench him just like you would any other player. Let him get his head and get back in the game unless Nassib is in control.

It's a legitimate question that needs to be considered by the team next year[/quote]
If that passes as a legitimate question, not many illegitimate ones can be written.
Even in your defense, you talk about next year. By inference, the OP seems to be discussing this year.
Unless somebody can separate Eli's possible woes from the possible woes of the OL, it is not a very smart discussion at all.

I tip my cap to you, sir!
