but it should not have won. HBO screwed up putting True Detective up against Breaking Bad IMO as well. I think they were hoping GOT and TD would each dominate their prospective categories.
I have mixed feelings about repeatedly winning for playing the same role. It seems a little unfair and a little boring.

How could HBO not put True Detective up against Breaking Bad? Were they supposed to enter it as a comedy?
they did it the right way. TD should have won and its a shame it didn't. BB was a great series, but at no point would I call its final season better TV than Season 1 of TD. Just my opinion of course, but the Emmy's were nothing more than a BB goodbye tour. We will see the same next year with Mad Men.
Aaron Paul should not have won, lets be serious. Dinklage, Voight, Patinkin are all better actors, and were better at their respective roles this past year.
Anna Gunn deserved the win, IMO. She was excellent in Season 5.
Still think MM should have won over Cranston, but that's jus tmy preference.
I think Sheldon from Big Bang Theory can stop winning Emmys. Good gravy.
I am sorry, for whatever reason I dont get stale of his act. As for pure comedy, his character is one of the best I have seen in the last 10 years. I know Louie is funnier and a better comedian, but I think the role Parsons play and how he plays it is just ideal.
The thing I love about Sara Silverman is she doesn't pretend
We recently, finally, decided to catch up with this show. Man, what a disappointment. I expected this cool, taut sic-fi thriller. Instead, it's like some campy show the British produced in the 60s. I think we'll claw our way through the final three eps of the first season, but I can't see watching the second, barring a real turnaround.
As far as her performance, she should almost be nominated on principal. But the individual performances themselves really aren't that good. I don't think it's her fault. Most of the clones have exactly one trait, and its usually as cliched a take as possible. The uptight soccer mom. The quirky scientist lesbian. The crazy (and grating) Ukrainian. Taken together, it shows a lot of range. But individually, the performances range from dull to annoying. I don't think it's necessarily her fault. The writing and direction appear to be to blame as they're trying to cram as much ludicrousness in as possible, and that doesn't leave much time for characterization. (Hence the one-note supporting characters. Funny, gay sidekick. Bland boyfriend/minder. Etc.)
It was, at one point, supposed to be defined by stories that had a clear beginning, middle and end (mini-series) versus those that were looser and more open-ended. On that basis, True Detective would have, like Fargo, been a mini-series. But they started making exceptions to these 'rules' and now it's a mess.
RE: Well, to be fair, it is a campy British series
My wife and I are all in, and Tatiana has been pre-authorized by my wife should the opportunity arise.
I think it's just a matter of recalibrating my expectations. There was a moment (no spoiler) in, I think, the 9th episode that crystalized it for me. (Something so outlandish and ridiculous even me just alluding to it might be enough.) Anyway, at that moment, I realized Oh, this is a silly show.
Matt Frewer showing up should have been a sufficient clue.
Lizzy Caplan is my pre-authorized. That's my story, anyway.
at Oddball Fest the other night and she was awful. Yes shes somewhat attractive but her stand up was pure garbage. Bill Burr stole the show as expected, he was better then Louie CK that night
Didnt want to start a new thread so ill post it here
I took my neice to new roc city in new rochelle today and who is randomly there just playing video games completely by himself in the arcade? Drama from entourage.

They should've entered it as a miniseries like FX did with Fargo.

Weird, the picture you took and subsequently posted in this thread didn't show up for me?! Anyone else having that issue?

Then HBO should enter all of their 10-episode series as miniseries.
If you skim and skim and think 'Jeez, I can't get through all this. Wonder what it's about??? I wish there was some handy summary.'
tl:dr
