I was a bit surprised that he was one of the first cuts

I don't think he is great but he isn't terrible. There always could be more to it. Maybe he has so much energy and plays around to much that the staff does not think he takes it serious enough. You never know how it is behind the scenes.
I love Rolle

and sometimes he ties the line of being supportive and critical. When I first saw the thread it sounds like he is almost taking a shot at the coaching staff. After reading it some could take it that way but I see it as him just really supporting a friend and teammate trying to help him land on his feet.
James looked a bit over-whelmed in coverage

in some of the preseason games.

Picking off Eli, Nassib and Painter at practice didn't appear to be anything special this summer...
Hosley

should have been cut before James. Still don't think he makes the final 53.
I was shocked....

when I saw he was cut. Yes he did have a bad game last week, but unless the beat reporters don't know what the F they're looking at then they have been praising James in error all summer.

Just from what we've read so far this summer he clearly leads the DBs in picks. I know it doesn't mean anything, but damn there has been a ton of negative writing on some other DBs that are still on the roster.

I think it could have been his special teams play that hurt his chances. He looked lost out there trying to block his man.
No James is terrible

HE's just very likable, makes it harder to see when that's a teammate you don't want to lose.

This
The Jets game was not his best
Bino5 : 8/26/2014 6:08 pm : link
but I thought Charles looked pretty good to good in the other games. He's quick and changes direction well, although obviously lacks size
Way to get on board

with the guys still there
Didn't think he was terrible

But, didn't think he was good enough. With all the talent they brought in - he had to play lights out and leave no doubt he belonged. Clearly, he did not do that.
But is James more valuable than say...

our 4th Tight End or 6th LB?

are we going to listen to Rolle's opinion
Bill in UT : 8/26/2014 9:13 pm : link
or that of the guys who are paid to make these decisions?
8 interceptions in OTAs and Camp?!?!

Against a QB that threw 27 ints in regular season? GET HIME SIGNED!!!!

I really think Rolle is just pumping him up and giving him, basically a letter of recommendation for other teams. sure there will be some long faces for about 20 minutes, but the show goes on and Rolle is a pro. He knows this.
James seems like a candidate for one of the two veteran PS slots

Waiving him now gives him a better chance to make an opening day roster at full pay. If that doesn't happen, I think he might be back.
