The millionaire CEO of an arena concessions company is in the doghouse after an elevator surveillance video showing him kicking a pal's puppy mercilessly went viral. Desmond “Des” Hague, the top dog at Stamford, Conn.,-based Centerplate, which serves food and drink at some of America's biggest stadiums, was caught on a July 27 video repeatedly kicking a 1-year-old Doberman pinscher named Sade and yanking the poor pooch's leash so hard it "is lifted into the air," court documents allege. The video was shot in Vancouver, where Hague was reportedly pet-sitting for a friend at a building called Private Residences at Hotel Georgia. "This incident is completely and utterly out of character and I am ashamed and deeply embarrassed," Hague said in a statement released Saturday, just two days after the video was released to Global News. "Under the circumstances of the evening in question, a minor frustration with a friend's pet caused me to lose control of my emotional response. Unfortunately, I acted inappropriately, and I am deeply sorry for that and am very grateful that no harm was caused to the animal." |
No, it probably isn't we all have lost control a time or to but how you act when no on can see you(or you think no one can)is, imho, a pretty clear indicator of your character.
And I sure he is embarrassed...he's embarrassed the video came out.
Where there's smoke there's fire....
Oh yeah, like you're really gonna beat up a journalist.
You're all bark no bite.
Are you directing this at me for posting this story? Eh, don't watch it if you don't want; no one is forcing you.
The story I linked doesn't even have the video directly on the page (you have to go to another link within the story). I'm not going to pull a filthy and post porn (or other offensive stuff) directly. So not sure what your issue is.
I didn't watch the video either as I have no desire to watch someone abuse a dog. However, I appreciate the story being posted because I hadn't heard about this and now I can add this guy to my list of douche nozzles.
We can't go around pretending nothing bad happens in life.
To boot, the food at stadiums is abysmal and monstrously overpriced. I hope a pit bull bites him in the nuts.
True. You figure he'd really be in the dog house after an incident like this.
+1
Well, let's hope that the company and its board members will keep him in a short leash.

He's got to donate $100K to their spca or whatever and serve 1K hrs of community service. Talk about dog days.
