You're a big fan of definitive statements, aren't you?
All the stars are aligned for us to do well tonight, if we don't you should consider it as cold hard proof the offensive struggles are real and tangible.
Have you ever watched the last preseason game before?
It's a glorified scrimmage.
It'd be nice if the starting offense did well in their 15 plays, but if they do or don't, it doesn't matter all that much. What matters is when it counts.
In general, it's best to make statements as positive and definitive as possible. Rather than saying, for instance, "The Romans might seem to be possibly the greatest success story in Western Civilization," make a bolder assertion instead, something like "The Romans are the greatest success story . . ." Wishy-washy statements, undercut by waffling like "might seem to be possibly," are usually the product of incomplete thinking. It suggests the writer hasn't yet made up his mind about the Romans' achievements and isn't ready to commit them to paper.
Indeed, the force with which you drive home your ideas is a good measure of how well you've done your homework. If you've tackled a problem head on and really wrestled with it, you will have strong opinions about the subject. In that case, the words you use to express those opinions will naturally be forthright and clear.
Let me put it clearly. Keep away from "may," "might," "could," "would," and "seem." Their adverbial counterparts, "possibly" and "probably," also weaken an argument. Instead, do everything you can to avoid writing a paper laced with uncertainties. Study the facts and then trust yourself to declare your opinion in clear and definitive terms.
Eli...cant make short throw w no pressure. ..
one threw too hard. .the other off target..
dont blame line or wr...mac screwing w
elis feet and throwing
hit, sacked like Manning you don't just 'snap' out of it. It's going to be a process that must start with the OL showing Eli they can do their job, so he can do his.

Very possible. Nice pressure and an excellent pick by Bowman.
or McAdoo. Its Eli. Twice tonight he's had plenty of time and he's acted like a guy was about to sack him. If he doesn't play better than that, the team is in trouble.

If I could of seen it! I guess I can blame my DSL speed. Only 1.5. I know when it's going freeze. The picture starts looking good. About every third play the stream freezes and I miss key plays.
I'll be glad when Sunday Ticket starts and I can get a dependable signal from directv until it snows or rains.
@JordanRaanan: Touch passes are not Ryan Nassib's thing. Fastballs only. Definitely something he needs to improve. #giants
I wonder if Nassib rockets every pass because he's concerned that a throw with less velocity will be picked since the windows in the NFL are smaller than those he saw in college. If so, then time should cure that problem.
Eli in for two possessions goes 1-4 with two punts. Nassib comes in, Giants go on a 8 play drive and get three.
You could easily say, "look nassib can do it". Well the whole drive was andre williams, combined with receiver drops, and bad timing that resulted in incompletions.

Coughlin's loyalty will absolutely be tested.
I only hope that if it comes to it that Jerry or Mara will step in and make it an issue that they control
and so far it appears the slide is continuing. The offense can't convert 3rd down and the defense can't get off the field on 3rd down. I am not sure if there is a "switch" that can be thrown when the season starts, if there is the Jints are going to have to put it in the on position.
D@KimJonesSports: More Beason: He finally found proper orthotics/shoes to protect toe. Says he's "confident I'll contribute" on Sept. 8. NYG confident in him.

you don't want to do that as it makes Manning look even worse
the play by play is slobbering all over this QB, they never showed the Giants lineups, the sideline guy can't get 5 words in with the audio cutting out, and for reasons unknown they have gone multiple times to a "studio" for pedestrian analysis that amounts to a big commercial for Bobs Discount Furniture. Gah.

Randle was the LVP. He dropped an easy one on a first down throw. Eli hit him on the run. Looked to me like Eli thought no one was open so he rolled out right.
Randle had the brain fart on a third down throw. I guess we have no way of knowing who messed up but who is your money on?
Also, are there really posters on this site who think Nassib would do better this year than Eli? That seems ridiculous to me.
. The pats 2's. We can ground it this year ask Eli to pull a Russell Wilson and just hit a handful of meaningful throws a game. We know Eli is the king of winning it late.
If we try to air it out 35 plus a game this year we are screwed.
@DanGrazianoESPN: Both fullbacks in for Giants on that last play, which is new.
Interesting if for some crazy reason we kept two full-backs. I would love to see Connor traded for a #7 next year, conditional or not, just so we get something for him. He is good.
Look in my opinion Eli is still a qb can get it done, the OL has been a problem going on three years now. To me if you want your qb to be efficient you have to protect him. If you don't feel that way, fine. I'm done trying to justify my position to you. I think my position is fair, and realistic.

because some posters here said he was worthless dogshit (or some words to that effect). I thought I must have missed something when I thought he was pretty good last year taken off the street and thrown into the game. Funny, he still looks pretty good. Not a number 1 back, but not bad as the number 3 guy. Its almost as if those posters might have been wrong.
It's both. But I think we'll know by Halloween which is the bigger problem. Eli had an impressive drive at the end of the first half against the Jets. He had time to throw, and made plays. But he has missed receivers, thrown some bad INTs, and looks nervous and rattled in the pocket at times.
Well aware it's pre-season....but this trend has been happening since 2012
Yeah the same time our offensive talent was declining. Funny how that works. Our offense kept sucking and age, declining talent, injuries, and missed draft picks all led to this mess we are all watching.

Yup, I like Hills too. Short yardage downhill back. A throwback running back. He brings stuff to the table.

you insisted all we needed was a new offense. Have you changed your mind?
Giants should keep both FB's and 2 TE. its the stronger suit
Jerry and Gaines were excellent. Can't see how they cut Gaines. He's clearly better than Brewer and Brown. The debate is only whether to keep one of the latter two.

Williams and Hillis with some hard running.
Nassib has looked good.
Decent pressure. Just missed out on a few sacks.
A TE caught a pass.
Let the great Eli/OL debate continue.
Don't forget about Jennings. He ran real well too.
will do just fine this year. Our O-line is more suited to the running game verse the passing game. Besides, Eli looks lost out there. Ball control and making sure Eli doesn't kill us with his horrible decision making and/or interceptions. Have to play to our strengths and that is running and keeping the ball out of Eli's hands.
Eli looks worried .
decent run game . were they trying to prove a point
running Hillis had play action written all over it ,
Hillis is a gamer .
Where is the pass rush gonna come from ..?
turn it on in Detroit?! Will be interesting to see, however, he may be running for his life with our oline going up against the Detroit Dline. Their Dline might be one of the top 5 in the league.

How will McAdoo play it?
Opening day we play safe, keep away football and take what the defense gives us. Run, Run, short throw and hope player can get the 1st down and keep the ball away from Detroit. That is how I see opening day.
@art_stapleton: Henry Hynoski is on sideline. Nothing visible to show whether his shoulder injury is left or right. No ice pack. No sling. Nothing. #NYG
Quarles has improved has been flashing and Bromley is now commanding doubles along with Hankins. Just a few years ago this was a troubled spot and now there are a lot of young talented guys.
Plai. And simple.. This is really concerning. pats have a new and learning the system and he looks way more comfortable then all 3 of our qb's Put together.. Smh something is not right with this offense.
jump on the John Jerry bandwagon just yet. He's been playing 2nd, 3rd, 4th teamers in the game. In other preseason games, he was messing up against backups.
whats with face guarding in the end zone twice now
hey if you get beat just tackle him .
Hosely just fell off a cliff sincee his rookie
season Robinson should just jump off one ..
@ebenezersamuel: Hunch here on John Jerry: This game is as much about today as tomorrow. He's proven he can play. How does knee recover 24 hours after?
In my opinion in some cases it obviously is... My point is if an olineman wrecks a 250 pound linebacker - I don't care about the "1's" vs "2's" thing .....most of these guys are the same size etc. know what I mean?
Won opening game against Houston in the last NFL game played at Yankee Stadium. After that was a horror. It was not so much going 6-0 in the preseason as it was the Giants had a good year in 1972 and seemed to be a team on the rise.
He has not had one to throw to since Nicks vanished in the second half of 2012. Cruz has been doubled since and RR can't find his own ass with both hands. Becky has certainly filled Nicks shoes. Instead of vanishing he never even appeared.
The box will be stacked to stop the run and Cruz will be doubled to stop the pass. No TE's to worry about and no WR's that are a threat.
No weapons and a patchwork OL. It's Eli's fault. Let the blame games begin!
The twelfth pick in the draft and he hasn't even practiced yet.Could be a season killer.

-If the starters do well in limited snaps: "They played against scrubs."
-If the starters do poorly in limited snaps: "They couldn't even do well against scrubs."
The over/under on this occuring?

Yeah, I'm getting pretty sick of listening to the opposing announcers every week. Would have been nice to hear the Giants announcers at least once.
I got the first few minutes of the Giants-Steelers game with Papa, then it switched to the Pittsburgh broadcast with 10 minutes to go in the 1st.
Anyone know how to sync the radio broadcast from the internet?

Considering he's not getting it done against 2's tonight, not really.
We don't have one TE who would even be on another team.
Watch it will be flag football within 5 years

eli will be benched by 3rd game or we go

The backup left tackle is the starting right tackle. We're a bit thin.
Manziel - ( New Window )
No word if that's the same shoulder he fractured last year. Also no indication how serious it is.
Nothing telling of that, just my latest point of reference for mid-round QBs.
