Any injuries of consequence?
Dunedin81 : 8/28/2014 10:57 pm : link
Didn't think so, figured I'd ask.
I wouldn't be surprised if ODB is IR'd.

That hammy did not come around and its been almost two months.
It is disheartening to see the absolute
Headhunter : 8/28/2014 10:58 pm : link
lack of chemistry between Eli and Randle. It is upsetting at the number if catchable balls that are dropped and kill drives. I'm pushing all my chips to the center of the table and am betting that a Rookie who has seen the field all preseason and practiced sparingly is going to be the igniter of this offense

Hynoski injured his shoulder. Not sure how serious.
Herman is going for x-rays on some part of his lower body.
LOL my takeaway from McAdoo this preseason
Mason : 8/28/2014 10:58 pm : link
squinting at his colored chart while all 3 QBs huddle over his shoulders. I don't think the cameras once picked him talking to anyone.
no shot.

None at all for Hosley IMO.

Herzlich also on the bubble IMO.

Cox was active 14 games last year. I think 10 and you cannot go to the practice squad.

Yet.
Hosley a perfect CFL player

In the NFL he is just too small and always 1 step behind. Hr would have success in a smaller league like the CFL
He's our kyle wilson

Manningham got hurt too, but he wasn't going to make it.

Herman got rolled up and is limping. Could be serious but he's going to get suspended.
That kid from the Hawks look like a promising DB
Mason : 8/28/2014 11:06 pm : link
Wonder if he can sneak on the roster.

Unfortunately that rookie is not going to be on the field any time soon.

I remember 1 blitz by Bennett. They didnt game plan this exhibition season. Next week they will and I'm going to get a true sense of the philosophy of McAdoo and how Fewell will attack
He'll play game 1 he was close

he has 11days
Randle, JJ, Donnell and Robinson are very frustrating

one minute it is a wow amazing play, the next it is a bonehead mistake. Talent is there but mental part of the game lacking.

Who is competition at this point? Adkins has already been cut. Fox hardly did anything. It was Adkins after Kennard jumped Herz. Unless you think the Giants are going with 5 LBers and I doubt that.

Beason, McClain, Williams, Kennard, Paysinger and ______

Eli would have thrown it to that spot.

In what year did the light come on for Toomer? I know he was a dim bulb at first, and coaches were about to give up on him. We can only hope that Randle is Toomer 2.0 in that regard. Can Coughlin bring Toomer in to mentor Randle or something?

I'm tired of Randle. He just don't seem, like he understands, how to get open. 3rd and 3 with the curl route open, and open for the first. He does a stop and go, at the first down mark. Damn I miss Steve Smith sometimes

I think that CBA in 2011 helped the aging vets but was more harmful to younger players. Lack of contact drills is necessary for many of these guys. Noticeable around the league that some of these young guys have issues in live game action.

You think Randle's consistently wrong routes are due to a lack of contact in practice?
They said on the post game show that

Cox was eligible for the practice squad.
the thing with Randle is
kepler20 : 8/29/2014 12:07 am : link
This is a systemic issue with him from day 1. He's not a rookie but he makes the same mistakes he's made since he's been drafted. New scheme or not he has a habit of leaving the QB out to dry by running the wrong routes.

I think so. Because in camp reports I always hear how great his non contact drills are going. How he is making great plays against Prince and DRC and these other physical DBs but I often think it is a control environment. These defenses aren't allowed to get really physical with these guys anymore in practice. The coaches can't protect them in live games, where DBs are constantly jamming disrupting routes. I don't really see how it helps younger receivers.

I think it is criminal that now the only way to truly practice goal line stances is hope you get one in preseason. That is crazy.
Interesting
MauiGee : 8/29/2014 12:28 am : link
Gee, you guys are terrific!!
I cannot argue with much of the analysis here.
I do question when the Giants will register their first win of the season.
Houston maybe?
Second win?
I want to be positive but I've seen precious little on the offensive side of the ball by the first team to warrant another division championship or ring.
We can run the ball at will so....
PeterS : 8/29/2014 12:31 am : link
hopefully this forces teams to honor the run and opens things up for the passing game which I hope has been kept under wraps.
my question is
giantfanboy : 8/29/2014 12:37 am : link
when does Washington get into line up??

Cruz only got to play because of injury to slot receiver

it wasn't unit game 3 against Philly that Cruz broke out

stinks but that's ok-he has company. What bothers me is how he is always the primary source for attribution in how great this new offense is. The guy never shuts up. Big hat; no cattle, as they say in Texas.

Ugly. Randle is really worrying me. They will have to be a run

Holliday over Parker. He has game breaking ability on both punts and KOs. Parker is nice but is not going to see much time behind the starters and OBJ.

Just a hunch.
I rally hope the Skins cut Evan Royser or Roy Helu

yes, it's in the "Info/Links" section above.
One question I have is why didn't Coughlin let Eli go for it on
Shockeyisthebest80 : 8/29/2014 9:38 am : link
4th & 3? If it was important enough to play Eli in the 5th preseason game, shouldn't he want the QB to get more reps?

how good RR can be. In terms of Football IQ he seems to struggle. Last year miscommunications, and now, granted new system, he still has issues. Will he ever just click in a system and produce?

I would like to see that also. Holliday over Parker. We saw Parker muff a punt last night. Holliday is such a weapon, TC should really consider keeping the kid around. Game breaker. Else, maybe we can sneak David Wilson in there just to return KOs and punts.

Anish, do you know if he was considered a dimwit playing college ball? Randle could actually make/break the season for this team. If he keeps having brain farts, he'll be useless but I'm sure he'll still be a starter. If he turns it around and lights it up, the passing offense will be very hard to defend.
