@RVacchianoNYDN: Tom Coughlin said the injury to FB Henry Hynoski was "some sort of a (rotator) cuff injury, but he hadn't seen the doctor's report yet.
that Hyno was the FB that got all the reps with the first team and even second team all preseason. I am surprised Conner didn't get more of a shot. With that said, I would still keep two. I would keep two TEs. The only TEs that I thought we can somewhat work with are Fells and Donnell.
but I wouldn't be surprised if Hynoski lands on IR as a numbers casualty. We're not keeping two FBs, and we have to make final cuts. Just lousy timing.
Conner is vested, so if he's on the opening-night roster, he'll be paid for the full year. If Hynoski had gotten hurt in the regular season, the Giants could have brought Conner back (assuming he was still available) without locking in his pay for the whole season.
If Hyno's shoulder is really a three-weekish deal, my guess is that the Giants will keep both him and Conner. In the team's current circumstances, it's not really that big a deal keeping two fullbacks. There's probably an allocation of eight roster spots to the combination of RB/FB/TE. Considering who the fourth RB or TE would be, an injured Hynoski is probably better value.
Is always hurt. I hate that he was resigned to begin with and why was Hyno getting the first team reps the entire preseason. Connor is better in my opinion . Connor did a hell of a job last year
...the consensus within the organization seems to be that Hynoski - when healthy - is simply better. All the available evidence, especially their contracts, points in that direction.
Fb and be injury prone. Position entails collisions on every snap. Might be better off going with Conner even if there's a slight drop off in talent.
I always hate these sort of meaningless comments. What does injury prone actually mean anyway. Because I guarandamntee you that if your or snyone else's shoulder receives the same force, torque, or whatever, the same damn thing is going to happen to it.
or as athletic as Hyno. Hyno provided more of an offensive option for the OC. When Conner's hitting his blocks, he can be devastating. He can be a big asset to our running game and it does look like early on we'll be doing alot more running since the passing game looks so terrible.

Hyno in particular has been iinjured a few times with us
RE: Rolle played with tears in both rotator cuffs....

2 FB's are NOT making the roster.

Rolle doesn't have to run block.
