Eli and Randle

Essex : 8/29/2014 9:08 am
Yesterday, when Eli and Randle miscommunicated for the umpteenth time, the thought went through my mind that Randle is a lost cause. I simply just don't think he has the talent to overcome his mental deficiencies. Anyone have thoughts that we are getting close to the "b" word with him. He had 600 yards last year and if he has another season like that we drafted a fringe WR in the second round. I really just don't see the improvement I was hoping to see. Other thoughts?
Absolutely a make or break year for Randle

Very talented guy. But the connection is just not there.
Some WR's have that very definite one charisma. Hakeem

Nicks had it, Plaxico had it and I sure as hell hope Beckum has it because Reuben and Victor definitely feed off the teams overloading the WR1. When Reuben and Victor need to take the slack and become the WR1, we get very little production, separation and in Randle's case....miscommunication.
Don't give up on Randle.

high picks the Giants have used on WRs and how little they have produced.
Moss: a 2nd & 3rd
Mannigham: 3rd
Nicks: 1st
Barden: a 3rd & 5th
Jernigan: 3rd
Randle: 2nd
Beckham: 1st.

Only Nicks & Mario panned out, but due to injury and contract concerns, both are gone from the Giants when each should be in their primes. And now look at how Beckham's career has started.
Randle would be an excellent #3,

but he's not even a mediocre #1.

Steve Smith career being ruined.
He also caught...

..the only TD pass from the starting O this preseason.

I hope he pans out, but I am not confident he will be an impact player.

Positive impact anyway.

it took Toomer a few season to "get it" and he turned out ok.

Needs, to be given a set route. A route, that he doesn't have to, think so much. Because right now, he just don't get it.

Agree Charlie….He's clearly not a #1, but could be a decent complimentary #3 type of receiver and I think his worth to the team is there. With that said, we need ODB to get better in a hurry and start to show something on the field, because Randle is not going to take coverage away from Cruz.

it took Toomer 4 seasons to blossom, and I was about ready to give up on him also. The one thing about Toomer was that he didn't hang his QB out to dry, This kid has to turn it around soon.

randle in the manningham role. he is in no way a number 1 receiver. it's a shame about ODB
