Peppers will be ready for Notre Dame.Would not use NFL talent as a punt returner. They will need him in coverage against OSU,Michigan State and Wisconsisn peppers - ( New Window )
Glass half full: the defense was very good today and could improve to be the best in the conference. Not a fast defense, but smart and very physical. Johns was very good in relief and Lambert wasn't bad outside of the two pick - sixes. The OL wasn't exactly "good", but they were much more effective that I expected against an excellent UCLA DL. WRs lack game - breaking ability but they made some great catches out there, unlike the never ending drops of the past two seasons.
Glass half empty: Steve Fairchild is just an awful play-caller. I know the 3rd and 10 run late in the game was Johns blowing the play call but it wasn't much worse than the rest of the calls. Team is slow on both sides of the ball and Fairchild has no idea how to use the one burner he has on offense (Mizell). The killer turnovers brought back bad flashbacks of Marc Verica. Ultimately, moral victories aren't going to cut it. This team just continues to find ways to lose even when they play well.
Mike London is by all accounts a wonderful man, and the man certainly can recruit. How he's managed to put together another very solid class for next season despite the dismal failures on the field is amazing, but it can't continue if they don't start winning. I simply don't think he's a legit D - I head coach, and I don't have any confidence whatsoever in him or Fairchild to develop the offense. I don't know why Fairchild was hired in the first place with his mediocre track record. Playing musical quarterbacks has been their downfall in the past few years and today sure looks like they could be going down that road again.
OSU defender injures self celebrating a defensive stop
but hopefully one or both of them will make an impact as the season wears on. Dowling looked alright, maybe he or Levrone or Severin can emerge as a receiving threat. And maybe the OL will gel. But it's really going to come down to Johns or Lambert emerging as at least a solid QB.
can get a score early in the 3rd quarter I think they could run away with it. LSU can't throw, and it will be even more difficult if Wisconsin is protecting a big lead
if Rushing made those 2 errrs than I think McEvoy has had a good game. I think Caputo will play on Sunday. Trotter has surprised me and the OL is, well, a Badger OL.
if LSU gets their vaunted rushing game going. If they don't, then the Badgers are really for real. However I wouldn't be that quick to trash their passing game, unless they have to with no run fakes and the Badgers can drop back.
not a careless turnover. It was a natural reaction to try to brace your fall. Shit happens.
Ehhh, there was no contact to the body or arm and it just kind of slipped out of his arm on the way down. He shouldnt have been jumping/leaping like that. Shame because if he got by that guy, he had a lot of room.
The two areas of greatest concern: Replacing Jernigan in the middle and Shaw/Benjamin on the perimeter remain the two greatest areas of concern. It's also frustrating to watch Karlos Williams, with all of that physical talent, not play well. I would have liked to see more Pender.
FSU let them hang around but only once did I feel that the lead might be in jeopardy and the defense managed to hold. Citadel next week to work out the kinks before Clemson rolls into town. That will be fun.
they were backed up and it was 4th and 12, but you have to go for it and not punt. Even if you go for it and don't get it, you can still hold them to a field goal and get the ball back. And you're not stopping them this entire quarter running the ball. I know they cant throw but I think he basically threw in the towel

LSU does not. Same with FSU
I'm here. D looks great. Mcevoy spotty. Going to be a close game.
Ugh, thats definitely a fumble
Really screwed Oklahoma State there.

TD Okie St. Kick it deep or onside it here?
I didn't realize Wisconsin's QB was Tanner Mcevoy from Bergen Catholic in Northern NJ, who started his college career as a DB at South Carolina.

Injuries up the middle really impacted the outcome unfortunately for the Badgers
