FF 8-30 discussion

superspynyg : 8/30/2014 2:39 pm
Had a draft thurs night. Picked 7 out of 12 in a .5 ppr. Start 2rb, 2wr, 1 the, 1 flex.

Qb Newton
Rb Lacy
Rb Murray
Wr V Jackson
Wr Fitzgerald
Te Reed
Flx Harvin
K Walsh
Def Carolina

Bench: Rice, Hopkins, Woodhead, KC Def, McCown

I have offered KC def and Hopkins to someone for TY Hilton and A Williams. His current Def is Buffalo.
How many teams?
robbieballs2003 : 8/30/2014 2:58 pm : link
I also hate Newton this year.
Who did you take in round 2?
Reale01 : 8/30/2014 3:03 pm : link
I don't see two top 20 players on your team.
I'd guess Lacy was his first pick..
arcarsenal : 8/30/2014 3:05 pm : link
..and then he took Murray at 17
Good luck with the trade

But really it's offering Hopkins for TY Hilton and Williams...

I'd try Hopkins and Woodhead for TY Hilton and Williams. Hilton is much more boom or bust and can put up big points. Not to mention Hopkins dosn't have anyone throwing him the ball. Woodhead is better then Williams atm, but Williams in my opinion could have better value by the end of the year.
I took Murray

Julio went right before my pick.
I threw together my rankings and roughly tiered them..
arcarsenal : 8/30/2014 3:55 pm : link
The tiers aren't exact but I did 20 QB's, 30 RB's and 50 WR's

Let me know if you think anyone is really out of place or totally out of tier. I ranked them based around the way my league scores.. (pretty standard, .5 PPR), my personal gut feeling and just basically having gone through a ton of different rankings.
Pretty similar to my rankings.
kmed : 8/30/2014 4:05 pm : link
I have a few minor differences, but overall it's pretty similar and I don't see any big differences between our rankings.

The more time goes by, the more I really like Maclin this year...

The Eagles had the 8th most yards last year.
The Eagles lost DJax who was 9th in the NFL in yards and 11th in TD's.

Maclins #'s pre Chip Kelly:
2010-70-964-10
2011-63-859-5(13 games)
2012-69-857-7(15 games)

Is it crazy to think that if Maclin stays healthy, he can put up a season close to or better than Jackson's last year? 82-1300-9. I'd think that if the Eagles didn't think so, they probably wouldn't have traded Jackson.
Sorry, the Eagles had the 8th most passing

yards last year.
Really my only concern with Maclin is his health.
arcarsenal : 8/30/2014 4:15 pm : link
If he does play 16 games, I absolutely think he does exactly what Jackson did last year.
I have the 6th pick
SimpleMan : 8/30/2014 4:37 pm : link
in a 12 team .5 PPR league today. Trying to figure out what to do.

Assuming the first 5 picks are McCoy, Charles, AP, Forte, and Lacy, who do you take at 6? Im looking at Megatron, Manning and maybe Graham. Im not a big fan of the next group of Rbs at that spot. Manning is the safest pick, but Ive never been a fan of taking a QB that early.

Any input?
I was 6th in a 10 team league.
kmed : 8/30/2014 5:04 pm : link
Those 5 RB's went 1-5 and I took Megatron. I thought about D.Thomas, Graham and Peyton, but ended up taking megatron and then Brees.
Yeah I am leaning towards Megatron
SimpleMan : 8/30/2014 5:07 pm : link
right now. I just dont see the value for other RBs at that spot. Im hoping someone else takes Manning and I get land Forte or Lacy somehow.
The only RB I would even consider at 6 would be Lynch
kmed : 8/30/2014 5:12 pm : link
and he fell all the way to me at 15. I ended up passing on him because I wanted Brees, but that's insane value for Lynch if you ask me(he went 16).
another vote for Megatron
Steve in South Jersey : 8/30/2014 5:13 pm : link
.
I go Megatron there. I think he's safest.
arcarsenal : 8/30/2014 6:01 pm : link
And then I look for Brees with my next pick.. maybe Rodgers. If not and a guy like Lynch is there, I'm all over it.
Vereen owners probably not happy
kmed : 8/30/2014 6:22 pm : link
Ridley made it.
I hate that you can't rank players by position pre-draft on Yahoo..
arcarsenal : 8/30/2014 6:42 pm : link
They only let you do an overall list.. which is way more annoying.
