Is the QB in rhythm, did the wr have a good week in practice, has the line held up, can the RB break a tackle and fall forward, are you backed up in your own end, are you putting the pedal to the metal or playing catch up. What has already happened in the game.
The "draw" gets a lot or grief around here, but it's a safety valve play with the odd shot of paying off if it were used a little more judiciously.
If we had a warm blanket TE, a Jason whitten, you can bet the risk tolerance of the OC nudges up.
I guess I post this to suggest there's some nuance that should be taken into account for a lively discussion. Thanks.
But we killed it on 2pt conversions with that thing. It seemed like it worked every single time even when we all knew it was coming (and the defense probably did, too)

"There is no fucking chance they run that play again...right? They wouldn't, we know it's coming. They ran it 90 times, it's worked twice. They're definitely not gonna try that shit down here. Four wideouts, see? Pass all the way....let er rip boys"
You've got to resort to some trickery. The draw is the weird cousin of the play action pass. The line fakes pass protection, and when the d bites and are shoved outwards, the handoff is made up the gut.
We run a lot of delayed handoffs where the line has no intention of trying to disguise the nature of the play as a run.
We also run the draw. But they're not the same. Pet peeve.
And why shotgun? Lousy line, RB may appear as an extra defender
Hat is the call and it was stopped the other night.... But I think that play easily accounts for more first downs this year.
If I see another third and long draw play - and we absolutely have this preseason - I may just write a letter a week. Maybe two - Andy dufrane style until they give in
I'll only remember it when it fails. So it will become the shotgun draw or whatever, but I will think it never works. Then someone will do some analysis and it will show that it is successful 52.3% of the time so it clearly works more than it fails. I will be humbled.
Back shoulder pass to a wide out. That play is indefensible with a physical receiver and a well placed pass. All day long to Nicks and Burress. I really miss that play - and the pump fake. Eli had a lot of success when he added that to his game back during the '07 run.
They allow exercise bikes on the field during play?

2 pt conversion successful.

Tiki Barber and Derrick Ward might disagree with you.

Love seeing that play!
I'd rather they keep their clothes on.
