Obviously he must have done well over there.
Good for him

once a Giant, always a Giant (unless your an Eagle).
Denver has raved about him

He's been solid this preseason. Better role for him there in that scheme.
Is it the scheme? Is it the medical procedure he had
jcn56 : 8/30/2014 9:10 pm : link
which supposedly resulted in correcting pain that he had while he was here? Is it the fact that he has to have realized this is his last stop, having floundered both here and in Dallas?

Whatever it is, if Austin turns out to be a solid NFL talent it'll partially vindicate Reese, leaving the only knock against him as being selected way too high.
Somebody

in another thread said he needed back surgery, and that he now felt a million times better. I'd hate to think that was why he played poorly, and that we missed that he needed it. My guess is that he's just one of many players who get motivated when they realize their career may come to premature end, but it does make me wonder.
He had off the charts athletic talent

Seems like he was never healthy here though that wasn't made public that I remember outside of the torn biceps. That would explain why a guy with his size and skills never looked like much of a football player.
I'm happy for him ….

You knew something did add up, watching him play. As soon as he got stood up by an offensive lineman, he didn't have the strength to disengage.

I'm guessing he got hurt in college and just kept it to himself, then when he got to the pros just played as well as he could, through the pain.

He seemed to be a bit lazy during his time with the Giants. Maybe he's desperate now?
He had some back injury

that resulted in weakness in his legs while with the giants.

the Giants have had some truly terrible luck with injuries to their high round draft picks under Reese.

Giant fans were behind the stands at the Ravens game a few years back and the veterans were yelling at Austin for not being prepared, in shape or something along that way. He got big money as a #2 pick, was immature (like in college) and is now ready to give his best.

I am sure the noted injury didn't help but I think in football you have to really want it and it appears that now he does.
