I don't think he even gets activated. Hankins, Jenkins and Patterson should be ahead of him and Bromley has actually shown more than Kuhn has.

Would not be surprised if he plays over Bromley, made it over Quarless already and Quarless was healthier adn played better.

liked Kuhn coming into camp, but he was outplayed by Quarles, who is also a lot younger. Kuhn offers run stuffing, but we already have Hankins, Jenkins, and Patterson.
very happpy Fox and Jackson
Mr. Nickels : 8/31/2014 2:14 pm : link
made it. Pissed we let Quarles walk. Jenkins and Patterson are old. Probably going to use more draft picks on DT again.
and once again how does Quarles do otherwise

does he graps the defense.. does he work hard in practice.. etc etc.. coaches look at these things that fans dont....

Don't think so. Yesterday teams were putting in claims for other teams' cuts. The bottom teams get first crack and all players claimed go immediately to 53 man roster.

I'm saying the worst 10 teams last year will probably stock up with a lot of players cut before we can get a chance to claim them.

Gmen were number 12 in order, that means 11 teams ahead of us could put a claim in on some player cut and we lose out. Like I said, all of the decent lineman and tight ends will be gone before we can get them.
Glad they kept Jackson

ST value at bottom of roster. I have seen Kuhn on KOR unit.

More draft picks in DT ? Good. If the Giants went D & O line early and often, I would never complain. Load 'em up.

They have to use more draft picks next year. Had a great prospect in Quarles with the hustle and attitude perfect for a D Lineman. Let him go for a do nothing. Very aggravating.

GIANTS FILL 7 OF 10 PRACTICE SQUAD SPOTS
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. The Giants filled seven on their 10 available practice squad spots this afternoon. Six of the seven players signed today were waived by the team yesterday in the roster cutdown to 53.

The practice squad players who were with the Giants in training camp are: running back Michael Cox; cornerbacks Bennett Jackson and Chandler Fenner; linebacker Dan Fox; defensive end Jordan Stanton; and wide receiver Julian Talley.

The seventh player signed this afternoon was tackle Nick Becton, who was waived by San Diego in the cutdown to 75 players on Tuesday.

Becton, 6-5, 323 pounds, originally signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech on May 13, 2013. He spent most of his rookie season on the San Diego practice squad, although he was on the 53-man roster for six weeks last year and appeared in one game (at Oakland, 10/6).

would definately want 1 more DL signed to PS
CGiants07 : 8/31/2014 3:11 pm : link
probably 1 OL,1 TE and then 1 open spot

and the Cox move just makes them seem lazy.
I think Cox occupies one of the two new veteran slots.

He sucks

This is where I would claim 3 TEs.

NEW TEs.
Cox is mediocre at best
CromartiesKid21 : 8/31/2014 3:27 pm : link
Do they actually think they are going to "develop" him into something useful?
Cox may surprise. I hope we don't need him,

3 spots left to fill

Hopefully we use 2 of those spots on a TE & LB, god forbid.
I have always been amzed at the personel decisions JR has made.....

like our off season moves too. Cut down and PS moves so far have not been good in my opinion.
I was hoping Cox

would get picked up by another team, really just for comedy's sake, so I don't have to hear anymore brutally unfunny, purile Cox puns...

extra people for Practice.. often playing as the scout team...

SuperRonJohnson : 8/31/2014 4:54 pm : link
I agree. Do some really think the Cox puns are funny? Also if you think Reese decides all these cuts and PS by himself, you are wrong.
I'd withhold judgment on Cox until the signings are official.
Big Blue Blogger : 8/31/2014 5:00 pm : link
I'm sure the Giants told his agent that they have Cox targeted for one of the two veteran slots; but if they can reach a deal a running back they like better, Cox might lose his spot. Basically, you're talking about backs from the 2012 and 2013 draft classes (or earlier, if they missed some credited time for some reason) who are currently out of work and would not have qualified for the practice squad under the old rules. That should be a pretty big pool, but I couldn't name anyone off the top of my head. Or they could look at guys like Spencer Ware who do qualify for a conventional spot, and use the veteran slots on other positions. (Not recommending Ware - he's not a particularly good fit.)
Not surprised by today

What a downer
These moves get made for reasons we fans don't know about,
81_Great_Dane : 8/31/2014 5:11 pm : link
and sometimes those reasons are bullshit.

I've told this story before, but here it is again: Former NFL TE Jamie Williams told me this story in roundtable interviews for "Any Given Sunday." When Williams as a rookie in the Giants training camp, there were two other rookie TEs: Zeke Mowatt and Malcolm Scott. The Giants heard one of their rookie TEs was involved with drugs. They thought it was Williams so they cut him and kept Scott. It was Scott.

Williams wasn't a mainly a pass-catching TE, not really the kind of TE Parcells liked, but Williams went on to a pretty nice career in the NFL, and Scott, well, Scott didn't.

Again: These moves get made for reasons we fans don't know about, and sometimes those reasons are bullshit.
Sorry, Williams WAS mainly a pass-catching TE.

Btw its spelled puerile..
A lot of practice squad moves are dictated by the need for bodies...
Big Blue Blogger : 8/31/2014 6:00 pm : link
... at certain positions. Coughlin said as much in his presser on the final cuts. The way he talked about the practice squad "servicing the ones" made them sound kind of like fluffers.

It's a good thing your opinion is about as valuable as monopoly money.
