glad to hear some positives from the detailed game review. I really don't know what to expect from this team once the regular season begins next week. You both found some reasons for optimism amid all the other concerns.

I don't mean to always be the one pointing out typos, but in the "Fourth Down / Ryan Nassib" paragraph, the second sentence has "his the new ..." versus "him the new ...":

Quote:
His solid – sometimes outstanding – preseason play caused the Giants to name his the new backup to Eli Manning ...

thanks

Train...always appreciate the typos being pointed out.
The biggest off-season / pre-season dissappointments
SGMen : 8/31/2014 7:33 pm : link
1. Will Hill - huge loss for marijuana. I wanted the Giants to keep him since he is a talent. I understand character affects the locker room too so the cut had to happen I guess but marijuana isn't Rx pain killers or the like.
2. Odell Beckham - hamstring injury kept him out of practice and well we don't know what we'll get from him this year.
3. Chris Snee - I had really hoped he'd have that "bounce back" year after surgery where he felt good and could be a leader for another year. At least he quit before camp.
4. D. Wilson - his speed would have been useful in this offense. Career over and wasted pick. What a shame.
5. C. Taylor - he was really coming on and was a big guy.

I totally realize every team has injuries so I count my blessings more players didn't go down or miss practice time.

My biggest concern for the first couple games: OL and continuity. Our interior isn't very good right now. I hope I am pleasantly surprised.

Go Giants!
Giants' running game.

really like the Giants trio of big, physical running backs in Rashad Jennings (3 rushes for 20 yards), Andre Williams (5 rushes for 44 yards), and Peyton Hillis (11 rushes for 40 yards). All are no-nonsense, north-south ball carriers who can wear down a defense.

They need someone who can get around the corner. If all running plays are north and south, the defense has a much easier job in run defense.
IDK

After watching Jerry and Richburg this past week, Im starting to get a bit of quiet optimism about the o-line again. I think the inside is going to be ok and if Beatty is healthy I think the tackles are all right too. Just pray for health. The offense will take a few weeks before it hits its stride Im guessing but Im ok with that.

And the defense looks like it is going to be filthy. Top 5 D this year.
