How exactly were the Giants supposed to be a better team today than they were yesterday? By picking up someone else's trash and praying that they'll be better than somebody on our 53?
Did we look like a Super Bowl team in 2007 or 2011? Can people not be patient to see how this team turns out, and actually judge it upon a group of regular season games?

They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. I imagine it could be worthwhile dumpster diving for TEs

True, and I agree. I'd love for us to address the TE situation.
But any TE we'd pick up would be behind the eight ball at this point and is unlikely to come in and contribute right away. That sort of thing is rare. Did you have a TE in mind?

Robinson and Donnell aren't going to contribute right away either. I believe Sy suggested a few possibilities
who do you see on the NFL cut list that fit any of those requirements? Who is going to come in and immediately know our system and be ready for week 1?
who would have to improve to be considered average. We could upgrade one or two LBs, we could use a RB with speed and a decent PR
I'd agree about the OLs. The LB comment though is way off base. If you think there are castoffs that are better than the LBers that the Giants currently have you've misjudged the Giants LBers by a wide margin. And the PR comment shows a real lack of understanding of what it takes to make any 53 man. Few teams can afford a PR/KR that can't contibute in the regular rotation at WR or RB or DB. That's why Holliday was a longshot. You think a competent WR/RB/DB, KR/PR is going to get released? That's a fantasy.

The season isn't just about week 1. So what if they're not ready for a few weeks? The guys they're going to be replacing aren't going to be dressing for week 1 anyway, most likely

THIS.
patience is not a virtue on BBI
