really wish reese hadn't cut that quarles guy

I know it's crazy, but just follow me here for a moment.

Maybe...just maybe...Reese has made these decisions after receiving Tom Coughlin's input on what he thinks of the players after seeing them perform, or lack thereof on the field the last several weeks.

Unconventional way to run things, I know...

Maybe a first or second round pick may get a little more time to showcase skills they clearly had to have shown in college but other picks are cut cause they are not as talented as the guys ahead of them.

Rarely, though it can happen, a guy gets cut and makes it on another team. It could be because the other team has a better suited system or he get more motivated with the cut or whatever.

Bottom line, how many cuts during the Coughlin era have we truly regretted? Kuhn can play. Quarles can't just yet and we can't afford a bad season.

the coaching staff has the final say about their 53 man roster before the GM. Also this really deserved a thread.

how many of these guys work out after being cut less than 1%would be my guess.

on Reese than me but in fairness this was not his call. Coughlin, Fewell and ACs all in on this decision. Think they see Kuhn as a fill in for Hankins as a space eater who can hold the point of attack if not much else.

At the time of the waiver, there was a substantial possibility that Quarles would remain in the organization on the PS.

If you absolutely knew that waiving him meant losing him, maybe then you cut Kuhn and keep Quarles.

I assume that no matter what their relative value as prospects, Kuhn is more NFL ready than Quarles.

People lose focus that 53 players on a football roster just isn't very many. There are hundreds of the 75-53 cuts who can play in the info but there just isn't room. The Pats made room for Quarles. Probably had their eyes on him during the scouting process and draft.

Someone posted an interview with quarrels here, he sounded like a decent guy. Hope he sticks in the league.

They will regret in the future that they cut this guy. To make it worse the Pats signed him.

I like Kuhn [ as my posting history attests ] and I have been a little disappointed that he didn't do anything outstanding in the preseason, but some BBI experts seem to have been spending more time with their nose in the stats column than watching games, because either they haven't seen this -- "a space eater who can hold the point of attack if not much else" -- or else they consider that equal to stinking up the place. Team!
