Basically an abbreviated horror movie without too much extraneous nonsense.
You have to love Fet, the exterminator guy. It's always fun when one of the characters realizes that he's in a horror movie ("What are the rules?") and the whole bit at the gas pump was great, especially when he chooses premium gas to burn up the Stregoi.

1. People keep shitting on the reactions of several characters (notably Dr. Ephraim Goodweather). However, it's probably the most realistic reaction you will get. He doesn't believe it, and fights against each new revelation.
That's how most people would react.
2. People found the whole "love" theme corny for the first few shows. But it plays a huge role in the whole series.
And it's what humans do.
Show is very well done. No idea why it's been bashed so much.
one problem is that they spent the first couple of episodes establishing Eph's love for his son and his estranged wife and now he doesn't seem too concerned that they are out there somewhere in the middle of this insanity. If I was in that position, I would do nothing else until I made sure that my son was safe and protected. That said, I love the Setrakian and Fet characters. They are a perfect match and hopefully will be a dynamic duo of vampire killers moving forward.
I don't care for the current crop of vampire shows or zombie shows, but there are a couple of shows dealing with the supernatural that I like very much, like Grimm and Sleepy Hollow. I'd put The Strain on the same level. It's weirdly creepy...or creepily weird, take your pick.
it like The Walking Dead. They never really showed the early on of The Walking Dead when the virus happened and stuff. They should show the cities one by one get infested.
Watched this weeks episode in my opinion it's one of the best I have seen in a horror show in a long time. I love how the vampires have different classes it makes you wonder how they plan to kill the Master since he has to be on a whole different level.
how it all happened, or how it all went down, is my favorite aspect of the apocalyptic genre. And it definitely seems like the actual fall seems to be glossed over far too often. Not necessarily with the Strain, but in general.
I'm not sure why I love the strain so much but I do. They are doing something right with this series but I am not sure what. I read the first two books of the series so maybe that has something to do with it.
I thought the vamps that killed the other vamps were really fucking weird. That dude has such a weird delivery when he was talking to the kids...

Eph is a bitch and the female doctor sucks too.

What's taking you so long?
I'm waiting for authorization!

And Fet caught on quick. Loved the lack of PC when he's calling the gas station dude Apu.
Absolutely.
