I'm contemplating relocating to the the Dover area was looking for some input as far of the more family friendly communities within driving distance of the AFB. Any information on school districts, places to live etc... would be most welcome.
They used to live in Dover to be close to the base. After retiring 10-15 years ago they moved to Middletown which at the time was a developing area. It's since tripled it's population. Every time I go I feel like I'm in a real life Sim City because there's always something new being built. Schools, restaurants, new homes, banks, businesses, etc. Check it out. It's about 30 minutes away.
after vacation in Virginia beach. travel can be bad in summer months , pick your spot carefully in relation ; Schools, leisure activities travel to work(ie. travel backups in summer). Good luck
My son and Daughter in-law live about 10-15 minutes South Of Dover in Kent County. In general New Castle County is more expensive in home prices and has higher property taxes. Kent County is less populated and has smaller towns, more farms and less traffic than New Castle. Depends on what you are looking for. Beaches are about an hour South of Dover. You could check out Citi-data.com for more local info.
Can't help much with schools. Only comment is that the schools are not known for being that strong in Delaware. Might be because the property taxes are so low.
