The Good (More than we thought)
Stevie Brown seems to have made it back
Eli's ankle has not been an issue
Bromley has performed better than many thought
Beatty appears to be back and better
Richburg looks like a keeper
Walton has been solid - no issues with ankle
Washington came out of nowhere
A Williams looks like a possible stud
DRC has looked great
Beason is back for opener
Kennard looks like a nice find
JPPs back has held up
Hankins looks ready to fill Linvil Josephs shoes
Nassib has progressed
Prince is ready to come back and looked good in camp
Jerry looked good in the last PS game
Hyno back from injury

The Bad
Will Hill released
Quarles claimed by Pats
Schwartz out
Beckham out
Wilson retired
No TEs

The Ugly
The vibe from some of you on BBI these days
Great Post

I would add to the Good: Preseason Record
I would add to the Bad: The offense with Eli has sputtered in the Preseason

I agree with your ugly comment - LOL.
The best thing you can say about Eli
Bill in UT : 9/1/2014 3:41 pm : link
is that his ankle looks ok?
Beatty being better is still TBD
Jimmy Googs : 9/1/2014 3:42 pm : link
but without him at LT you would have a new Ugly comment.

Billy you ugly beast!
Reale01 : 9/1/2014 3:49 pm : link
Tried to stay away from specific performance until we see the first couple games of the season. We really haven't seen much good from Eli, but we really haven't seen much at all. 25 passes?

I could say the line is terrible, but physically they seem OK. Missing assignments on stunts and blitz pick-up has caused most of the problems.
I agree with your ugly comment

As long as I have been here this has to be the least knowledgeable period I can remember. It's like an influx of red tide choking the life of this site relentlessly. Nothing to do with criticism everything to do with content
Except...... (the pessimist's view)

Eli's ankle has not been an issue - but his passing has been
Bromley has performed better than many thought - now that preseason is over how many snaps do you think he gets?
Beatty appears to be back and better - I guess better than shit is improvement
Washington came out of nowhere - see Bromley. He probably only plays if injuries to people above him on the depth chart.
JPPs back has held up - like Eli, his performance has left a lot to be desired.
Nassib has progressed - and if he's forced to play for real the team is doomed.
Jerry looked good in the last PS game - Now let's see him going against NFL caliber players

True ... but Schwartz will be back and Beckham will be back. Beckham has looked great during his limited participation.

It goes on and on. Some good, some bad, some ugly. Lets play the games and enjoy our Giants.
A clear-cut Good...

Not many, especially early in the season, but rookie DTs rarely play much early in the season. Linval Joseph didn't and somehow the Giants survived.

Hey, we'll take what we can get.

Maybe. He's going to have to learn to perform against 1s and 2s, not 3s and 4s. He may claw his way up the depth chart, especially if Beckham can't play and Randle is as bad as a lot of BBIers think.

I agree.

If Eli's passing were to be a big issue, there wouldn't be a huge dropoff to Nassib. I don't think you believe that. By implication, you're saying Eli is still far and away the Giants' best QB. I agree.

"Great" with regard to ODB. I use Great when talking about LT.
Love this post

There's a lot to be excited about.

One thing I would add to the good: the Giants running game. Five runs of 20 yard or more. Top 5 in yards per game, and yards per carry.
Rashad
NYBEN : 9/1/2014 6:26 pm : link
Jennings ..without question is one of the "good" and the entire running game
Will Hill is tough a loss.
Mondo : 9/1/2014 6:44 pm : link
He's gotta be one of the most talented safeties in the league.

Left off cooper who looked great went to the IR along with Harris. also holiday never took a single return and was cut forcing us to keep Parker as our return guy yawn
I promise to be at least hopeful about this team
Reese's Pieces : 9/1/2014 10:12 pm : link
as soon as I see that Eli has put that 18 TD, 27 pick season behind him and is back to the 26 TD, 15 pick 2012 season.

I thought a few of his throws in preseason were scary bad.

On the other hand, it's wrong to assume that Beatty won't play better this year. He's still young and these running backs they have may give him more help.

The starting OL members are still learning each other's first names.
Will Hill,

was a throwaway, not a loss. Worst Giants move since Plax took himself out.

Correction, worst move by a Giants player since Plax took himself out.
Thanks for the comments
