Draft my 10 team league last night...I had pick 3 1 ppr
1 qb 2 rb 2 wr 1 te 1 felx(wr rb te) 1 k 1 def
QB Newton, Rivers
RB Mccoy, Bell, Terrence West, Fred Jackson, Christin Michael
WR Julio Jones, Vincent Jackson, Kendall Wright, Torrey Smith, Anquan Boldin
TE Julius Thomas, Rob Gronk
K Phil Dawson
Def Chiefs, Browns
QB -Luck, Eli
RB - Rice, Gore, F. Jackson, Woodhead
WR - Marshall, Hilton, Tate, Decker, Nicks, ODB, Lafell
TE - Graham, Clay
D - Panthers
K - Novak
My targets kept popping off the board right before my pick, especially rookies, but I think I'll be in pretty good shape once Rice gets back from suspension.
What happened to your 3rd/4th round picks?

thought I came away with pretty good value for the most part. New 2 keeper league
QB -Luck, Eli
RB - Rice, Gore, F. Jackson, Woodhead
WR - Marshall, Hilton, Tate, Decker, Nicks, ODB, Lafell
TE - Graham, Clay
D - Panthers
K - Novak

Yeah I was a little confused too.. Graham and Marshall were obviously 1 and 2.. maybe Luck was the 3rd. Then Hilton, Rice and Gore?
YAJ, Luck/Rice, QB run in the third followed by not much left for me at RB, I was fortunate Gore made it back to me.
I have Charles/Peterson as my keepers. I can't say I'm too enthused with my likely 1st round pick. Best available players
Bernard, Foster, Ellington, Dez, Julio, Cobb, A. Brown, Gronk, Nelson, Gerhart. So it seems likely I'll end up having to settle for a guy like Cobb at 9.
I've just assumed VJax is going to underperform based on the wildcard QB play, but yet he racked up points with Mike Glennon and Josh Freeman at QB.
It's always tricky for 2nd year WRs/RBs. They either take that next jump because they are fully acclimated to the game and feel more comfortable, or they regress because the tape is out on them and defenses are fully accounting for them now.

I was a little torn between those 2... I took VJ. Keenan went 5 picks later.
Also.. Peyton scored 519 points in my main league last year and Calvin scored 261.
My mind is made up on Peyton at 5 tomorrow night if no one takes him before me. The point discrepancy is too huge. Even if he doesn't throw 55 TD's again.
Newton - 345
Luck - 338
Rodgers since he missed a bunch of games only had 203
But for comparison sake, these were the top 5 WR's
D. Thomas - 273
J. Gordon - 270
C. Johnson - 261
A. Brown - 259
A. Green - 257
The dropoff from Peyton was HUGE. Over 150 pts between he and the 3rd best QB.
Like I said, I don't expect another 55 TD year but even if he has Brees' 2013 (and he should be slightly better than that), he's still like 200 pts better than the best WR. I don't know how I can justify not taking him at 5. The WR dropoff is also not nearly as steep.
I think there's a chance I could get Brees at 16 but in this league, I'd be surprised. Rodgers could potentially be there.
I don't know. I think I am going to take Peyton at 5 and then try to get Ball in the 2nd and hope a Jordy/Antonio Brown are there in rd. 3.
Do you mean like next season?
I thought I did well but Yahoo ranked me 10th (dead last).
QB - Foles/Cutler
WR - Nelson/Crabtree/Edelman
RB - Forte/Ellington/Vereen (likely start RB at flex)
TE - Ertz
Bench:
QB: Cutler
WRs: Watkins/Nicks/Williams/Beckham Jr.
RBs: K. Mereno
Newton - 345
Luck - 338
Rodgers since he missed a bunch of games only had 203

Yeah, in that scoring system it's tough to pass on Peyton. I really think Peyton/Brees/Rodgers will be a lot closer than it was last year, but he still seems like a great pick at 5.
Do you plan on taking an RB or WR in the 2nd?
Quote:
I expect him to have every chance to win the starting gig and to get the majority of the touches this season, but it might take a few weeks and he will have to perform. He's a good bench RB with upside, IMO.
If Sankey isn't playing initially do you recommend trading Bernard Pierce for him if Pierce looks good starting by himself the first 2 weeks or hang onto Pierce?
If it was me and I had Pierce, it would depend if I had better starter options on my team. Long term, I like Sankey much more. I just don't see Pierce getting more than 50% of the carries come week 3. They aren't just going to phase Rice out of the offense, he's still going to get at least half of the touches.
WR's, Thomas had 295, Gordon 286.
I had the 6th pick and took a shot on one of the top 3 guys falling to me in the 2nd round. Calvin and Rodgers or Peyton and Jordy Nelson?
If you don't take Calvin(or a top WR), you are probably going to miss out on Thomas, Dez, AJ, Marshall as well. Once the top 6 RB's go, people take QB's and WR's.
That being said, what's your risk if you take Calvin and then miss out on one of the top 3 QB's? You'll have calvin and lynch or ball. I think you have to go calvin and hope to get lucky in rd 2 with ball, lynch, maybe julio or marshall as backup plans.
I've read he's struggled with pass protection, and that can keep a rookie on the bench or let the D know it's a running play.
I haven't drafted him in either of my two leagues, and I feel he was over-drafted. I would have taken him a round or 2 later because he can run the ball.
but if the answer was known already it wouldn't be gambling.
Early on I can see him as the goal-line/short yardage back which may help him steal more touches, but I wouldn't bet on him, so I haven't.
Sankey is a rookie and he's too talented not to get touches. If he can clean up his game, he has the potential of being the bellcow on his team. He has the upside.
here is my team and i got peyton in round 4 because tds are only 3 points in my league and marshawn in round 3 i dont like either of them in rounds 1 or 2 but the value was there so i took them
PPR league
Peyton
Marshawn lynch
shane vereen
calvin johnson
roddy white
jordan reed
ryan matthews flex
bench is solid
ray rice
wes welker
hartline
bowe
hyde
ridley
randle
he wants to give me antonio brown for wes welker, roddy white, ryan matthews
worth it? id have two of the top 6 WRs in my starting lineup, id have rice/vereen/lynch/ridley combo at RB and flex, he would also be giving me some players back, no one good but maybe kelce, wallace, chris johnson
i mean i can toy with this dudes head all night and hopefully get the best of him, but you guys think its worth it to do a 3 for 1 for a stud like brown?
just my luck
Andre Caldwell come on down!
or Jacon Tamme in deeper leagues if you need an extra TE...
WR's, Thomas had 295, Gordon 286.

My plan if I take Peyton is to hope for Ball or Lynch to fall to me in rd. 2. If not maybe I go Murray or Bernard.. and then look for Jordy or Antonio Brown with my 3rd pick. I think that's potentially a really, really good way to start.
If I take Calvin, I'd still probably be looking for one of those RB's in rd 2 because if I went QB in rd 2, I'd be in a weird spot RB wise because I'm not crazy about most of the guys who go around rd. 3 and I have a feeling Rodgers will be gone by my 3rd pick.
The way I see it, there could be a potentially very large dropoff in pts between Peyton and whichever QB I'd wind up with if I drafted Calvin. But the difference between Calvin and Antonio Brown was basically nothing. It may not be that way again this year but I'm sure they won't be more than like 20-25 pts apart by the end of the year.
G.Bernard
D.Martin
B.Pierce
B.Tate
R.Cobb
D.Jackson
Not a PPR.
My starting WRs are C.Johnson and B.Marshall with T.Romo as QB (J.Cutler is the backup).
Cobb over Tate or Pierce?
hate to play matchups like that week 1, but if Pierce plays (concussion?) he might be a better start
Doug Martin vs Carolina
Tate vs Pittsburgh
Pierce vs Bengals
Cobb vs Seahawks
Desean vs Houston
Panthers and Bengals both have really stout run defense, so Tate should have more consideration against that bad Steelers defense. Cobb is playing the best secondary in the league, but if you've invested a 3rd round pick (assuming) in the guy, I feel like you have to just throw him out there and hope for the best.
It's a crapshoot but gun to my head I go Gio, Tate, Martin/Cobb. Probably Cobb over Martin. I'd like for that Bucs OL to prove they can block a high five before I start anyone behind them.
QB - Phillip Rivers (5)
RB - Arian Foster (1)
RB - Rashad Jennings (3)
WR - Brandon Marshall (2)
WR - Roddy White (4)
FX - MJD (6)
TE - Martellus Bennet (8)
Df - Saints (12)
K - Graham Gano (15)
------------
Nicks, WR (7)
Riley Cooper, WR (9)
Carlos Hyde, (10)
Flacco, QB (11)
Robert Turbin (13)
Travis Kelce (14)
Unfortunately by 13 the top QBs and RBs are gone a long with Jimmy Graham. So I roll the dice on Foster...
Eifert or Black Unicorn?
Danny Amendola or Cecil Shorts?
Devonte Freeman or Andre Willams?
Ball
Marshall
Murray
Brees
Bernard
Gio
Marshall
Ball
Murray
I could flip flop on Gio and Brees. Gio and Mega is just such a nice combo to have. Marshall is an awesome consolation prize. Ball is a bit of an unknown but they seem to trust him as a workhorse back, not in love with him though.
Murray is talented as all hell, but I just can't trust him healthwise. He can absolutely have a fantastic season, and in that case I'll let some other team enjoy the fruits of his labor. I'm not taking the risk.
These 13 players are almost certain to go in the first 13 picks (not necessarily in this order)
McCoy, Charles, AP, Forte, Lacy, Calvin, D. Thomas, Graham, Peyton, Dez, AJ, Lynch, Julio
I can't imagine a scenario where they don't. And then the 2 picks before me, I am guessing 2 of the 5 players I mentioned will be taken.. which means I'll basically be choosing from the other 3.
I think if Brees is there I will take him. Marshall would mean going WR/WR but I don't know if I could pass up on him there. I would be happy with Ball or Bernard. Murray is really the one guy I'd be iffy on.
I really just hate the fact that Ball didn't do nearly enough on the field last year to warrant such a high pick. I try to stay away from these high upside breakout players that present no ADP value whatsoever. It's a personal strife I have more than anything else, which I'm sure has fucked me over in the past.
QB: Brady / Cam Newton
RB: Vereen, J. Bell, CJ Spiller, McFadden, Stewart
WR: AJ Green, Wright, Maclin, DeAndre Hopkins, Streater
TE: Jimmy Graham / Ladarius Green
Def: PATS
PK: Shayne Graham
Had the 6th pick in 12 team league.
Any thoughts?
Fish.. not bad, you fucking fuck. I would say I don't love your RB's but PPR will probably save you there with Vereen who actually isn't a terrible RB1 in PPR as long as he stays healthy. You got a top 5 WR, the #1 TE and I think Brady will be one of the best values at QB this year relative to where he's being drafted. For 12 teams that's pretty solid.
7th draft slot:
QB: Cutler, Newton
RB: Ball, Stacy, Vereen, Pierce
WR: Calvin Johnson, K. Allen, E. Sanders, Hilton, M. Evans
TE: Rudolph, Clay
K: Vinatieri
Def: Rams
Wish I had slightly better option at RB2. Had to go Stacy at 27th due to 14 RBs going beforehand. Vereen at 54.
