Cowboys plan to bring Michael Sam to Dallas for a physical Wednesday, per team source. If all goes well, Sam will be a Cowboy.
It seems very few players go from practice squad to that team's 53. More often they get grabbed by another team. So if Jerry really felt he could help, and that this wasn't for publicity, he would be better served by making room for him.
Stats on this? I would've thought when a player went on IR, teams looked first to their PS for a replacement. Granted with only 8-9 players in past years, there was a good chance that no replacement existed.
In Dallas' case, they could easily bump a DE from their PS to their 53 man roster just because of the lack of depth there.

Don't tell me not to watch football, keep the gay shit off family TV.
I didn't say not to watch football. I just said that if you don't want to see those things don't watch those shows that air those things. Whether you watch or not is entirely within your control.
It's a funny thing about TV, radio, movies, etc. The consumer gets to pick and choose of his or her own volition whether or not they watch or listen to a particular program. No one is ever forced to watch or listen to anything they don't want to.
There's these buttons on remote controls. One of them is used to just turn things off completely. The others are used to switch from one program to another. Anytime there's anything on TV I don't want to see, I use them, and like magic, I'm not watching something I don't want to see.
I've got news for you - sports stopped being family TV Â
Forget the gay stuff - how about wife beating? Drunk driving? Dog killing?
Try explaining to your son why an NFL QB had to have an alias because he was floating around giving women herpes. Or how he had to do time in the federal pen because he was electrocuting dogs for kicks.
The gay cake eating is the last thing anyone could point to for 'family time' as far as sports are concerned.
- the colonel - From American Beauty. Staunch homophobe on the outside, closet gay man on the inside. Don't be afraid of your true feelings! And try not to kill anyone in the process.
Daddy, why do I have to throw away my Rae Carruth jersey? Â
I'm pretty sure even you aren't that stupid. Although you are the guy who claims to hate the Yankees because you knew someone who died driving home after a Yankee game?
What does that even mean???? You realize that, regardless of what laws you pass or what you teach kids or whatever, homosexuality will still exist, as it has since the dawn of mankind?
Which is fine, because it will speed you back down the ban superhighway where you belong.....but, as always, this little episode highlights what a piece of garbage you are and have always been, so we're all better off for it.
This is a middle aged man here, spouting off like the worst of the dregs of the YouTube comments section.
My daughter likes to remind me fairly often that given the large volume of stupidity on the internet, it can't all be from misguided teenagers. Exhibit A right here.
I know you're just trolling at this point

Don't clue him in.
I mean, I doubt any of us are trolling him in return to hasten this.
For their opinion, unlike most of the rest of you on this thread.
And if I'm the only father that wants to protect my son from what I don't consider wholesome, then I guess I the only sane person left.
Not sure what isn't wholesome about those who are homosexuals. It's all about their character and not about who they are attracted to.
I have plenty of incredible homosexual friends, who are far more wholesome than some of the heterosexual people I've met in life. And several of them served our nation proudly. So what's so unwholesome about them or their way of life?
And I don't think you know the definition of "sane" if this is the reason why you think you're sane.
You've stated your position on this matter. It's a position that the world (the civilized world at least) is rejecting very rapidly. Did you ever consider the possibility that you might be setting your son up for being ostracized by association with your views?
Would you feel comfortable letting your kid hang out with a kid whose dad, for example, doesn't want "darkies" coming by?
Do you want his peers to think of him as the kid with the weird homophobic/racist dad? This is the bigger risk than your kid being gay - if you really consider that to be a "risk".
the topic:
Jerry probably does have an underlying motive, but this kid shows enough to make their 53 before season's end.
He's not that good against the run, but he gets after the QB and the Cowboys are sorely lacking in that area.

I agree. If Sam can use this opportunity (no matter JJ's motive) to stick somewhere, then good for him. And the league has shown that DE/LB rush specialists can survive for a few years (at least).
"Whatever the reason, there was a general feeling on the outside that Sam didn’t fit the Cowboys’ scheme. Coming out of Missouri at 6-2, 260 pounds, he wasn’t strong enough to be an every-down defensive end in a 4-3. Not athletic enough to play outside linebacker. Not fast, either. Runs a 4.91 40." Would they send a letter and physically document something like that? If Goddells intention is to get Sam signed to a PS why not just have a conversation with ownership? Seems odd.
Rocky has the same tolerance as Great White Homophobe. Â

And damn proud of it...
Jeez, how did I forget that shitheel entirely? It's almost like Dante Stallworth mowed him down in my memory.
You know, being decent to people. Try it sometime, you might like it.
And you're supporting the right to be gay?

If you're gay, you're gay, not my problem, keep it over there.
Unless they became Hokies, obviously.
Much better reason...

I never beat the shit out of anyone who didn't deserve it, like the gays.

Eric's really bringing the lulz with some of these reinstatements.
Of course, silly me.

We're all above that, right?
Right?

In four years his father will likely be dead, so if he can make it until then, he'll be OK
He will be theirs.

You're not sane. At all.
He will be theirs.

Now THAT is fucking funny! :)

Got enough to read in the shitter yet?

Rocky, this isn't up to you but if your kid turns out to be gay, I'm pretty sure you'll change your tune. He's still your kid.
*sigh*
Nope, still loyal..It was just a funny quote about ESPN which I loathe
