1. Giants offense continues to be out of sync putting pressure on their defense which eventually gets exploited by a pretty good offense equally a lopsided loss.
2. Giants offense surprises and is adequate enough to make it a close game.
3. Giants offense after having given no indication that they are ready for the beginning of the season, hits on all cylinders resulting in a big Giants victory.
Whatever happens tonight...the progression over the next few weeks is what is really important. I expect them to struggle a bit tonight.
Of course I have another scenario which is not nearly so rosy.
2. Lizard people tunnel up through the turf and go on the attack. Everybody dies.
3. Alien spaceship appears overhead and fires death ray. Everybody dies.

Lets see them "sync" up tonight VS one of the best secondaries in football.
The difference is Calvin Johnson. He's that good.
Defense will keep it close for three quarters, but Detroit will open it up in the 4th quarter and we'll run out of gas.

As to Defense, the DL is big, fast and quick at DT and fast and quick at DE but Fairley at DT seems to be having ups-and-downs in his play; LBs are not big and Tulloch at MLB is not fast nor quick; at CB Rashean Mathis at CB is not quick; and at S, Ihedigbo is not fast nor quick.
So, IMO on pass-rush plays, the Giants should use the NASCAR DL and also overload the right side of the Lions OL to take advantage of the lack of quickness of Warford and Waddle.
On offense, the Giants should run wide and at Mathis to take advantage of Tulloch's and Mathis' lack of quickness and Fairley's up-and-down play and on pass plays, throw at Mathis and although this seems very difficult to do because of our terrible TEs, throw to our TE to take advantage of Ihedigbo's lack of speed and quickness.
I know the prevailing media opinion is that the Giants lose, but IMO the Giants win because in the preseason the Giants ran well and this week McAdoo said the offense was clicking in practice and on defense, IMO the Lions key players are Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush and the Giants match up well against that offense.
Our defense is improved, great match up between Johnson and DRC. I don't think its a blow out by any stretch.
Eli needs to score, the defense cannot be expected to hold the Lions in check all night...too many weapons.
One Giant player survives...Giants win!
2. Lizard people tunnel up through the turf and go on the attack. Everybody dies.
Giants immediately recruit them for the new front four. Lizard People eat Lions...Giants win!
3. Alien spaceship appears overhead and fires death ray. Everybody dies.
Death ray vaporizes Megatron, causing a critical fumble and return for score by DRC...Giants win!
I also think the defense will have a good game led by JPP, Big Hank and the secondary. I think Devon Kennard will have a big game too as we've finally drafted a LB with a long and bright future ahead.
Eli will have a stat line of something like 18-29, 186 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT but it'll be enough to win an overall ugly game.
Lastly I don't think we'll see what this offesne is truly made of until week 4 against Washington on Thursday night.
Last year set our expectations so low that anything short of total meltdown would be a pleasant surprise. The Giants entered 2013 counting on David Baas, Chris Snee, David Diehl and Kevin Boothe in the middle (though Diehl was also in contention for the RT spot until he got hurt), with James Brewer and Jim Cordle as depth. A year later, four of those six players are out of the League; the other two are barely hanging on as backups. Richburg, Walton and Jerry/Mosley may not set the world on fire, but I think the expectation that Suh and Fairley will devour them reflects the trauma of 2013 as much as the actual mismatch facing the Giants tonight.

This, and I don't mean it condescendingly. I just generally have no clue what the first new Giants offense in a decade is going to do in its first game.
I do expect the defense to play well. With DRC on Johnson and Beason returning to stop Bush, I think we are in a good position to hold off their offense if we can get even a marginal pass rush.
As we all know, it's probably on the offense.. and I have zero idea what to expect.
Just curious if others saw the worst case scenario as the most likely, which is what I feel is most likely. Hope I'm wrong.
They are just like the giants in that they have a new system.
Yet, in true BBI fashion, we suck, they are a juggernaut.
It is fucking ridiculous.
Hope the Giants win.
With both teams going through transitions, could be 7-6 or 56-3(either way).
I think the offense will surprise everyone and be affective tonight.
Defense will keep it close for three quarters, but Detroit will open it up in the 4th quarter and we'll run out of gas.

I see something like this happening.
