NFT: Now that the game is over let's talk about Sons of anarchy

I am excited that jack finally has that crutch called Tara gone now, I have been wanting him to get darker and more ruthless for several seasons.

I hated Tara's character from the get go

Also do they finish by killing off everybody or does jack ride off into the sunset?
Jack?

lost of dying

including Jax and maybe his kids.

My only hope is Gemma either dies a painful death or is forced to live with what she cares about most - her family.
My mistake
Joe in Knoxville : 9/9/2014 12:26 pm : link
Had 24 on the brain

Tara reminds me of jacks daughter on 24 always in the way and causing problems
It'll definitely be interesting to see the body count
pganut : 9/9/2014 12:26 pm : link
Paris Barclay (co-producer) mentioned that there will be a "major death" in virtually every episode. Since this is Hamlet on bikes, my guess is that Chibs is Horatio and one of the last standing (at least my hope...love that guy).

I don't do the spoiler thing, but I read in EW that tonight's opening montage as well as the closing montage are some of "the most brutal moments seen on TV". Tonight's ep is 90 minutes, FWIW.
I was very bored alst year until the last episode
weeg in the bronx : 9/9/2014 1:01 pm : link
Which was a huge shocker. Looking forward to see who remains standing, hoping they continue to kill them all off. Jax deserves to die along with Gemma - hopefully jax kills gemma then someone kills Jax.
SOA has gotten way too montage-happy

Gemma has to go....Obviously, in the finale.

Any way Juice makes it our alive?
the hell with Juice - what about Unser?
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 12:42 pm : link
They can't kill off Wayne! He's the only likeable character left.
I want them all to die
Nitro : 9/11/2014 12:43 pm : link
this show veered off course so badly seasons ago, I hate that I feel obligated to slog through it til the end.

Seriously, I fully expect the final episode to be a montage of montages at this point. That, and a crappy song by Peggy.
I felt
Jerry in DC : 9/11/2014 12:49 pm : link
pretty bad for that Asian dude. That was a real raw deal for him.

I was kind of hoping they'd do the Gemma/Tara reveal earlier in the season. Jax dealing with that is going to be good, but if they hold it until the end we won't get much of it.

Looks like there will be plenty of gang/street stuff this season, which I'm cool with. The family stuff can drag if it's not done really well (which is a likely proposition at this point).

I'm still a sucker for Jax's big speeches. They're kind of cheesy and repetitive, but they always work for me.

I'm not quite as far down that road as you, but I'm getting there, and I wholeheartedly agree with the feeling of obligation. I can't stop watching now, I just can't. I really haven't enjoyed it in probably two years, but I just feel compelled to keep watching and see how it all ends.

I mean, killing the wrong people while they're in the middle of a bisexual three-way? And the chick has a gun right there handy on the bed??? What the hell was that all about?
And

much like the audience, the characters were 100% unphased by that whole fiasco Barely a raised eyebrow on the screen or in front of it.
I thought Episode was a good start to the season
nygiants16 : 9/11/2014 1:05 pm : link
it wasnt the most entertaining for fun episode but i think it was a good table setter..the mood was very dark...

I thought Hunnams acting in this episode was very good, you could feel the emotion even without him saying anything and you could see the hurt...i thought he expressed it very well...

Gemma is just the most annoying character on television does she really have to be in every scene in this show...no other character gets to breathe because she sucks the life out of every scene she is in...

I am going to enjoy watching Gemma die...

Would it shock anyone if the show ends with Unser at Teller Morrow, Chibs is the president of SOA and Bobby is VP and there is a whole new Club, Gemma dead, Jax dead

Samcro lives but the Tellers bleed...
I think that was the point.

Any other season Jax would have carried that guilt for 5 episodes. After putting a few in the pastor's head he gave the meh look to the others. It was their way of letting the audience know Jax has gone over the edge and it's about to get violent.

I think i am going to enjoy the ruthless Jax who does not care about anyone but SAMCRO...the Jax the past couple of seasons was soft and questioning everything he was doing...this Jax is going for blood...

the Bohemian Rhapsody one might take spot #1.
I
mitch300 : 9/11/2014 1:23 pm : link
have a feeling Gemma will be the last one standing. It seems like she always squirms out of the lying and manipulation she does. It would also be ironic if Unser is the last one standing, since he had cancer from season 1.
Not sure which I'd like more for the finale.
GiantFilthy : 9/11/2014 1:27 pm : link
Jax killing Gemma.

vs

Gemma having to live with being the last one standing but knowing that Jax/everyone just died after finding out what she did.
hmm
Berrylish : 9/11/2014 1:42 pm : link
I don't mind the covers. I find them appropriate. A slowed down version of Bohemian Rhapsody was very fitting. I mean really... complaining about that is nitpicking. The lyrics and the song it self .... just fitting.
ooooh....that's a field loaded with quality competition, Nitro
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 1:43 pm : link
Anyway.....as is customary with this show the past two seasons, the more I think about it, the more I find things to be annoyed about. Wendy leaving with Unser with a big bag of groceries sitting on the kitchen table......and she tells him, "Oh, no, don't worry about putting those in the fridge"? No, that's not suspicious at all! I'm surprised they didn't have Juice's cut hanging up next to her coat when Unser goes to the closet.

And Jax just instantly believes Gemma's story about the Chinese guy, and torture-kills him solely based on that? After all, Gemma has such a track record for unstinting honesty, and she certainly has never shown murderous antimosity towards Tara, right? I mean, christ, you know she was there around the same time as Tara's murder and you don't even SLIGHTLY question her story?

The final episode will feature Katy Segal's slow, acoustic version of Paint It Black - I'm calling it now.
I like the music.
drkenneth : 9/11/2014 1:45 pm : link
I see Jax killing Gemma (It's too obvious) as she had a hand in JT's, and now Tara's death.

Jax killing the person who killed his father & wife seems fitting, albeit way too perfect.
You are just trying to scare us now.

Greg- I thought the same with the Aisan dude.
drkenneth : 9/11/2014 1:47 pm : link
So random. "Hey! That Aisan guy over there, sitting by himself killed your wife!"

I thought they could have asked some questions as well. Agreed. It was goofy.
my fingers would fall off from typing all the inconsistencies and

wtf moments this show produces. I just won't.
He literally rubbed salt in someone's wounds
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 1:49 pm : link
Cmon, who didn't chuckle at the absurdity of that?

That bit where he's slow taking out tools and the salt and displaying them is begging for a parody where he moves on to things like a swiffer, a Rubik's cube and a gallon of milk.
I got 2 of the biggest laughs out of this show in years, though
pganut : 9/11/2014 1:51 pm : link
Both in the same scene with the banger in the wheelchair:

"You guys got any idea what Clan McDouchebag is talking about?"

And Tig with his "Little Alex Enema" story.
When he hands Chibs back the bloody cig.
drkenneth : 9/11/2014 1:52 pm : link
The salt thing was goofy as well.
a redneck biker dragging a black guy
Nitro : 9/11/2014 1:52 pm : link
from a motorcycle, a solid 7 on the 'is it racist' meter.
This also came to mind in the "here, let me show you how I'll kill you"
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 1:52 pm : link
scene:

If you're dragging him for the benefit of black bikers, though?
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 1:54 pm : link
Hey look, man, Jax called a meeting! How else are we going to wrap this up in time?
I mean I'm not a squeamish person, it didn't bother me vicersally
Nitro : 9/11/2014 1:56 pm : link
in part due to the shitty cgi. Further, pretending people who get into criminal biker gangs would have super enlightened racial views wouldn't really pass the sniff test, just a strange scene to play for laughs.
the CGI was hilariously bad
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 2:02 pm : link
Now real-life outlaw bikers generally trend toward the racist side if I'm not mistaken but no one in SOA cared when they discovered Juice's big racial secret that he was so afraid of getting out, so who knows.
and since I don't want to start a new thread
Greg from LI : 9/11/2014 2:06 pm : link
The Bridge had such promise but is just seems to be wandering around aimlessly now. Apparently Sonya's Aspergers (or whatever it was supposed to be) miraculously cleared up between seasons one and two, now that she's gently coaxing information out of Eleanor's dimwitted henchman. Last season she couldn't even notify a murder victim's husband that his wife was dead without pissing him off by showing zero humanity or empathy.
This show is getting too predictable
Ron from Ninerland : 9/13/2014 7:40 pm : link
Gemma sets up the asian dude and now 2 things are going to happen.

1) Start a war with the Chinese because it will turn out the dead asian was Lin's close relative or handpicked favorite.

2) It will turn out that the dead asian kid had an airtight alibi the day Tara was killed ( like maybe the cops had him locked up that day ), Jax will find out and know that Gemma was lying.
