NFT: Is this the first modern era proto-Rock & Roll song...

...Roy Brown singing, "Good Rockin' Tonight" in 1947?

Forget the opening horns that sound like something out of the jazz swing era.

Listen carefully.

It's a little slow for Rock & Roll, but close your eyes and I think you'll hear strains of "Blue Suede Shoes" and other early R& R sounds from the '50s.

If there's such a thing as the "missing link" of Rock & Roll songs... then maybe this is it!

It seems like there arent many major rock bands coming out now. Most top 40 lists are filled with pop, hip hop and country. Is rock going the way of jazz, which itself used to be much more mainstream?
