Purely hypothetical......but if Eli continues to struggle and languish in mediocrity, how many games/losses do you think before he gets benched? How long do you think Coach C/Off. C Ben will tolerate? 2 and 5 at the bye? 3 and 4?
But if he plays like he did last week he won't be benched this year. He'll need to actually show he is the problem and not the parts around him to be benched.

if he falters this year or has shown no progress by 4th quarter of the season, you could expect a QB competition in camp next year IMO, as Eli will be going into his final contract year anyway.
Need to give him at least 8 games as that is about what it takes for a team to adapt to a new O-system. You also have to look at the entire O. Is he constantly running for his life, or does he have the time and is making bad decisions?

OL is a bigger problem than Eli, the WRs, or the TEs. But Reese is the biggest problem of all. If the offense shits the bed again today, especially if the OL can't block and pick up simple stunts, then there will rightly be howls for Reese's head.
