The problem is systemic. Reese built a 4-12 team around him. In a best case scenario, when the team is properly rebuilt in three years, will Eli still be in his prime? That's the question. The best thing that can happen is if Eli puts up a good statistical season, the Giants go 4-12, and Houston comes begging for a QB after they fall short with Ryan Fitzpatrick
a shit show. Sure the refs are throwing too many flags, but that's mostly on the league. As I said, it they're going to call illegal contact that closely, they need to change it from five to ten, maybe fifteen yards.
As far as the rest of the team, the OL got no push in the run game, and was only OK overall pass blocking. The D did pretty well overall. The weren't responsible for most of the points, and several AZ drives were kept alive by bullshit calls. The real story is all the drops.
fucking having Eli throw is pointless. QB rating drops from 90s to 83. That was one good thing from this shot show was ELi had a great game stat wise until that 2nd int.
...the special teams play that pissed me off most was the blocked punt, which should have been a huge play for the Giants. It was clear that none of Quinn's guys had the slightest idea what they're supposed to do in that situation. That's coaching, pure and simple. Nearly four years removed from Duke Calhoun retreating from an onside kick, nothing has changed.
*Eli is this teams QB and he can play in this Offense.
*Larry Donnell
*DRC
*JPP
*McAdoo
*Giants OL
Negatives:
*Ref's, I've never seen a game with that many terrible and inconsistent calls, If i was the Commissioner they would be fired before they walked off the field.
*Perry Fewell
*Victor Cruz, stfu and and be a captain and football player. Talk is cheap.
*ST's. Terrible ST play as usual.
a game without and INT. How about winning the turnover battle? We don't even have one turnover by the D all season. They played with more spirit today.
Positives...oline pass pro better, passing game looked a little better, minus drops, Eli played fairly well and Donnell looks like the real deal.
sorry I mean nine since the D stop the 2 point conversion
but I'm starting to think we have a bigger coaching problem. STs still makes basic mental errors at least 2-3 times a game (this is going back through the championship runs). Defense, miscommunications, despite a number of high priced acquisitions.
I'm starting to think that the team tuned TC and co. out a couple of years ago and just haven't listened to him since.
1) Manning clearly is not the problem. This was clear to some of us before today.
2) How does Bowman not wrap up Ginn? And the punt before it was Bowman who let the ball bounce into the endzone without trying to catch it or bat it backwards.
3) F-ing Demps
4) F-ing Jennings
5) Cruz and Randle have to make those catches.
6) Is it possible Reese actually has an eye for TEs? He keeps taking shots with guys that nobody wants or expects to do anything and only Myers really failed in that regard. Now Donnell is their best offensive threat.
7) How the F is there no holding or illegal contact called when the Cardinals DB grabs Parker's arm on a ball thrown to him? With all the other BS penalties they called on both teams throughout the game, how does the blatant one not get called?
And hold onto it and we win. Quinn's terrible units year after year somehow get a pass. Eli needs the weapons and they just arent there. Reese needs to take big blame. Beason comes out and our D goes to shit because Herzlich is AWFUL. No idea what to do in coverage and no speed to make any kind of play on runs. Pathetic
I mean, Cards are working on a short week, on the road, with a backup quarterback and the first thing the D does is give up a TD. At the home opener. Fucking hell, this defense is just terrible.
The special teams. Inexplicable that Teams continue to be such a problem. What's the problem with Teams. I mean, a TD to Ginn isn't that difficult to swallow, but then on the very next play there's a fumble? Fucking hell!
And with the drops on O. You know, its on Cruz and RR. Terrible. Just terrible. Fuck you Curz. Bitching and fucking crying during the week and then shows up to drop the biggest third down of the game. Fuck you Victah!
Fuck it... fuck it, fuck it.
And fuck everyone on this team, except Eli. And Weatherford. Fuck the rest of them.
You take the good with the bad. We won two. SBs And had the best and most dominant team for a season before Plax shot himself. You can't win every year and the Giants are clearly rebuilding. The only questions now is where do we fall in the top five picks in draft and who will be our head coach next year? Giant fans we must be realistic.
Last week it was on Eli. This week special teams. Next week it will be something else, trust me.
Over the third down conversions on D.
His snarky comment directed to Fewell was, the longer the distance the opposition has the easier it is to convert.
The players don't have the talent....the players are not capable enough to win....they just aren't. They CANT do it because they're not capable of doing it......

Thank God they didn't extend Eli because they will have a legit shot at Winston in the draft to jump start a rebuild with a new coach. As far as I'm concerned, Eli can play well week after week and yet still find ways to turn the ball over and lose for some other fans. He's as big a part of the problem as anyone.
Good thing Gilbride retired, he was really holding the team back, haha

Bullshit. Why is Demps allowed to run every return out of the endzone whether he is short of the 20 yard line or not. That's his call. DRC and Prince are making the call to play off the line of scrimmage. LBers are making the call to cover Larry out there?
The players don't have the talent....the players are not capable enough to win....they just aren't. They CANT do it because they're not capable of doing it......
Yes they are.... that's BS. They dropped way too many passes today, had too many penalties at critical times and turned the bal l over at inopportune moments. They could have probably tied the game up on the drive where Jennings fumbled, even with all the other BS that happened.

Dont Winston. Want OL. I would draft skill guys, but we are striking out left and right with some of these WRS (PLEASE COME BACK odb.)

yes, must have been Eli's fault that Cruz forgot how to catch. There was one bad pass by Eli all day, it was deflected off a lineman and picked.
All these negatives I am getting from everyone. Seems like it was a pretty crappy game and effort by some, and especially with our favorite coach, the great and wonderful Tom "I get a pass because?" Quinn.
How many years of being horrific on Special Teams? 4, 5, more?
If we end up 4-12 this year (which I hope we do not of course) will there be wholesale changes on this supposed re-building team?
Sure would like to hear some truly positives coming from folks here.

I said that today. It's very fucking true. Draw play on 3rd and 14 and it works?!!!!????!!!!!!????!? That's the mark of a very bad team, very bad.
I fear we've dug ourselves a hole that we may not be able to get out of for years and years.

I agree. This team does not play like a well coached team.
that resembles those of the late 60's and all through the 70's, with the exception that this team actually has a quarterback.
But in that it is a team that gets blown out all too frequently, and manages to make just enough mistakes to lose the close games, it is very similar.
Perhaps some of the younger fans on this site now understand why guys that were fans during the earlier eras, were not as impatient as you during the 10-6 9-7 8-8 no play off years.
At least the team was competitive and gave you games into December to get involved in.
It is much preferable to being out of serious contention by the end of Oct, where last year's team found themselves, and where this team seems content on getting to.
Without their starting QB. Without starters on defense.
Perry Fewell needs to be fired. They were saved by a penalty at the end of the first half or else the Cardinals would have driven from their own 10 to about the Giants 20 in less than 30 seconds. That's not on the players. That's the scheme.
How can they let up the first down to the TE late in the game. The team plays well on first and second down, but breaks down on third. That's the scheme.
I know the defense didn't give up many points, but they let the Cardinals offense win the field position. AND, wasn't Fewell hired because his Buffalo teams got a lot of turnovers? When will this team get one?

sees the game as a positive. Eli got some protection and threw the ball well. Most important: Eli is not "done."
Also, this big tight end might be the next Boss, Jake. The defensive line generated pressure and had sacks. The defensive backfield played almost as good as we had hoped subject to crazed, cocaine-snorting officials.
Turnovers can't be helped. Players who can't secure the ball will not play. Running game poor and completely lacking in explosiveness, but a lot of us already expected that from the two slow, north-south runners. I would rather have Bradshaw back with two crippled feet.
To sum, we look like we aren't going to be a humiliated, bottom feeding team. Many holes, but there is still a core.
The players don't have the talent....the players are not capable enough to win....they just aren't. They CANT do it because they're not capable of doing it......

A dropped pass means he doesn't have the talent to catch the ball in that situation.. Does Larry Fitzgerald drop passes like that? No....why not? Because he's more fucking talented....get it? Our WRs don't have the talent/ capability of making that play....otherwise you seem to suggest that he dropped it on purpose?

Ha - I just made and deleted a thread about this to post it here instead and you beat me to it! Next week is a must win game for all practical purposes. It looks like they are on a path to be playing meaningless games fairly early in the season again if they don't win next week.
Why do I feel the same way I did then? Is Eli becoming the new generations version of Craig Morton? Even CM had a good game or two but sucked most of the time. 1996 we all new Reeves was just running out his contract; is Tom? And 2003 had early hope, but quickly faded ending the Fassell era. My bigger worry is the front office. Those guys will all still be here next year and they're to blame for a lot this too.

Couldn't agree more! This is bringing back bad memories of my childhood in the 70's..this lies with the gm getting them to this point. Just sad..

Get the fuck out of here with that BS. Perry Fewell is a Coughlin guy since his days with Jacksonville. Nice trying to pass the buck there.
for a 1 p.m. game on the East Coast, with a back-up QB, and still beat us. That, my friends, is pathetic.
Eli looked the best he's looked since early 2012. So we can hang our hats on that. I hope Beckham makes a contribution this season, if only in the return game.
and for a team without an Offensive line we actually played very well today. Our D was getting lots of presure until Beason went out and JPP was flashing again. We had some good pass plays. I think the 3 drops by Cruz are more on Eli as they were touch reaches but the offense was moving both on the ground and in the air.
That bad call on MCClain on the QB was a terrible call. There were several missed Penalties that should have been 1st downs for us if the Refs call all the shit against AZ that they were calling against us. Demps fumble hurt as did the freak runback by AZ where we almost got the guy. The fumble by Jernigan near the end was a freak thing as he basically just slipped and fell and the ground did caus that fumble but before he was touched by a defender.
We played much much better this week but still with our o-line we'll be very lucky to go 6 - 10 this year. Reece sucks!
on Quinn - guy was there to make the play and missed the tackle. I think that might have made Deossie and others pause or have a mental lapse or a split second and then get a little sloppy re: their gaps.
trying to figure out a new offense. We have no great offensive threats, no game-changers and we're poorly coached in STs and not too hot in defense. Nothing to make any other team fear us in any way. Not really surprised at the 0-2 start.
Even our vaunted secondary took a huge hit once Will Hill was let go. Flawed linebackers, decent DL, bad line, decent receivers, decent backs. Really nothing special anywhere on the roster. We'll likely send nobody to the Pro Bowl this year.
How about that Cruz. Caught only five of the ten thrown to him.
Dropped three. I could see that he was just not trying hard enough on some of those passes. Not enough separation. You give a guy a big pay day and he starts doggin' it.
beason is the key to our linebackers - if he was healthy on the field, we'd be barely OK. without him, we are right back to being the worst in the league
i was watching the linebackers in this game - look at spencer paysinger on the 3rd and G carry after they reversed fitzgerald's TD. He is unblocked but instead of filling the hole and making the stuff he just stands there.
I just have to. Why is it that every single time Andre Williams gets the ball, he runs between the tackles? before today every single carry he had was for 1 yard..between the tackles...you'd think they'd try another play handing the ball to him? I mean, how many times does this have to happen before McAdon't realizes that this play just does not work? How many times? Its so frustrating. Please McAdont ....please...it's a wasted play every time...

Forget Paysinger, I wonder what it is going to take to show this HC that Herzlich is not a NFL caliber player. He racks up assisted tackles on STs. LOL, jumping on top on pile ons does not make someone a "great" ST player. Certainly not enough to warrant carrying him on your roster.
Why the fuck does this idiot leave a cushion for the X receiver on third and long that is just past the sticks every damn time??? What is the fucking logic in that??? Sorry, this is on Fewell.
I was worried about the O going into the season not the D. Looks like Perry is going back to his early 2011 defense, probably until it will be too late for a turn around.
On a side note, if the the fucking receivers and running backs can hold onto the ball it looks like we will be seeing a better O moving forward.
But why is he getting called out by Coughlin and not Quinn? Defense wasn't the unit that cost them the game. Special teams were.
Year after year after year, Quinn gets a pass. Unreal. STs were a joke today. And even minus the big mistakes on STs, heaven forbid we get a KO return that goes past the 20-30. Christ.
Someone just called Bob and Carl and asked wtf is with Perry Fewell and they basically said, its on Stevie Brown and the linebackers. Huh? How doea Fewell keep getting a pass?
I tend to give Quinn a bigger pass than most. I think special teams'

Forget about Banks. He has already said he is unwilling to ever call out a coach. No matter what. He always put it on the players. If PF ran on the field and took a dump, Banks would say it's the players' job to work around the pile of shit.
Funny thing he never has a problem throwing the guy who replaced
Great player. Total disaster as a radio guy. Bob Papa is one of the best in the business. I feel bad that the Giants saddle Papa with the humorless and flat Banks who never says anything interesting. He just went on and on about Eli's last Int. Seriously. Why not give Roman Oban or Howard Cross or get Jennings back in the booth? We just never get anything from Banks. "Playmakers have to make plays, and I don't see any playmakers making plays and you have to make plays to be a playmaker in this game."
...greatly appreciate any insights into what happened.
Thanks in advance!
Just a throw over the middle on the last play of the game. Totally pointless. Giants had the ball, down 9, only seconds left. Instead If running it out, Eli gets clobbered on first down and picked on second down. Giants need to help him out a little - bad enough they surround him with a pile of shit on offense.
issues are more indicative of lack of talent on the backside of the roster. That being said, Bowman makes a tackle and no one is complaining.
This team won all of its preseason games with those back of the roster guys. Tom Quinn is a terrible coach. I'm sorry but when you have a track record like he does you should be fired. How he has a job is beyond me. Week in and week out we hear about the other teams return team and how dangerous they are. The opponents hear what a liability our specials are and how they can and will turn the game around.
As the post game was winding down Banks went back to the point and said that the 2nd pick is the sort of thing that leads to bad habits. Imagine how many people would kill Eli if he throws away the last pass of the game? Who gives a shit? All the problems on the field today and Banks talks about Eli's last pick. Ridiculous.
...for some reason, a play by Prince Amukamara really pissed me off in the first quarter.
Play was run to the right and pretty well sealed up. Prince was at RCB and the guy just lazily drifted inside.
Easy to see... easy to know what happened next. He absentmindedly forgot to keep his right should outside of the last Giant and the RB re-directed to the outside and coasted around right end for something like 20 yards.
So f-ing unnecessary. Just an f-ing, stupid, lazy play by a very good player.
most upset with the defense. They couldn't get off the field in critical third-down situations in this game against a back-up QB and a team with a questionable running game.
The Giants only had three possessions in the first half because the Cardinals held the ball.
The defense has to carry the team right now. This is a team who they should have held to a field goal or two. Not surrender 10 points early and then allow the Cards to switch field position again in the 2nd quarter when the D had them backed up.
I thought people said that Herz is a great ST player
and/or defensive holding, and refuse to call offensive holding. I still go back to 14-10, Giants sack QB, fans rejoice, and a flag is thrown because DRC may have touched Fitzgerald while Stanton was being wrapped up.
Now 2 hours removed from the loss. Are people losing interest?
I bet there are fewer clicks on BBI then in recent years.....this team is turning a lot of people off
The players don't have the talent....the players are not capable enough to win....they just aren't. They CANT do it because they're not capable of doing it......
Bullshit
you're off youur ass. ASarizona got beat like a fucking drum and outplayed. period. stupid fucking mistakes beat us, like 4 tyurnovers, 4 dropped passes in the fourth, a Punt return for a TD. Thats what beat us. The lack of a run game, and the inability to stop a run game are ugly and issues but not why we lost. the rest of the crap is correctable. Arizona got beat in every measurable category today and if we played them again next week I'd bet we beat them.
This team is flawed and has issues. meanwhile with some work and effort could easily go 9-7.
@RVacchianoNYDN: Antrel Rolle: "I believe in my team. I believe in what we're creating here as an organization. I saw something in my teammates today."
@RVacchianoNYDN: CB Walt Thurmond is going to get an MRI on his injured pec. Said "It's tender right now."
With Beason and Thurmond out, we are further weakened on the defense. This is not going to bode well, especially for a Defense that can't get off the field on 3rd down.
the defensive secondary is "considered" a strength on this team. Ariz. was 5 for 9 on 3rd and 9+ yards for first. Breakdowns whether OL one week, or QB next, or like today TO's and defense. Ain't winning much with this continued trend. Unfortunately.
No the HC is the one. Reese should be allowed to pick
His own coach
That's your opinion. In myn opinion Reese is inept, and could never land the kind of talent TC is on his own. He obviously can't do it with players, what makes you think he is in any way more qualified to pick a coach than mara??He's not. He's a bumbler, who if this keeps up will be on his way out the door.
What I want to know is, after that putrid fucking 0-6 start last year during which the defense not only stank it up but laid down more than once, how the fuck did any assholes convince themselves that Gilbride needed to go but not fewell? After game 4-5 last year this site was ready to run fewell out of town on a rail, but we bounce back with a few wins after beason strolls into the room and gives off some good vibes and all of a sudden fewell knows what the fuck he's doing? I don't think so. It was pretty clear the players had a sit down with fewell to unfuck him last year. The guy is a Momo.
is it with this team and losing to back up QBs? This goes back to the Parcells days.
Stanton actually didn't look bad today. He has a strong, accurate arm. He's also been in the league for 8 years for a reason. He was not the reason we lost today IMO. We imploded - undisciplined play (dropped passes, penalties at crucial times, turnovers and allowing punt return for TD on STs).
Oh, yeah. We released that serial weed smoker because he wasn't moral enough to play on Tom Coughlin's team. We couldn't rely on him to stay clean and be reliable enough to be there when we needed him.
Except for Beason, our linebackers are very reliable. You can always count on them to suck.
Now 2 hours removed from the loss. Are people losing interest?
I bet there are fewer clicks on BBI then in recent years.....this team is turning a lot of people off
I DVRed the game. I didnt want to waste a beautiful day on this team.
miscommunication in the secondary. Fewell should have been gone 2 years ago. How do he and Quinn keep their jobs when the same issues are present every year.
I didn't expect them to be very good this year, but I was hoping for some meaningful games into November (at least). It really sucks when the season is effectively over sometime in October. I hope that is not the path they are on again, but it is looking like it might be.
this team on a drive to tie the game a d a player fumbles because theg fell over and thd ball hit the ground? This is probably the fourth time I remember.
we blew this game through sheer stupidity for the most part. Ugly turnovers, crucial penalties, and backbreaking dropped passes. It was a dumb performance from this team. That goes on the coaches and players equally.
But I've been down on this team for a while now. Last year we were a 7-9 team who was really closer to a 5-11 team in terms of true ability. And in this year's pre-season we went 5-0, but our 1st team looked awful. It looked like another 5-11 team. So I've simply had lower expectations for this team. I just want this team to improve on the shitfest that has been the last NFL calendar year.
And I saw some good signs today despite the loss. First and foremost... Eli and JPP. Eli and JPP are the two MVPs of this team. Last year both of these guys played like absolute crap. Blame the OL, but Eli was shit last year. Blame the injuries, but JPP was shit last year. JPP looked great out there. He might not be an A+ pass rusher but his overall skills package from the DE is still elite when he is healthy. I love the hustle that he is showing this year. His 2012 Pro Bowl season is underrated on BBI, and he looks better right now physically than he did in 2012. Hopefully he keeps it up. And Eli was very good today. The OL gave him time and he made some good throws and played smart football.
Eli and this Offense seem to finally be clicking. The announcers made the point of mentioning how Eli stated that this was their best week of practice and that the ball barely hit the ground in practice. That's a good sign and then they went out and flashed some really nice potential on offense. Eli seemed to be getting into a rhythm, Donnell was playing well from the TE position, we were completing 3rd downs, etc. The offense finally seems to be clicking or on the way to clicking. That's a great thing to see after the awful 2013 offense, the awful 2014 pre-season offense, and the awful week 1 offense against the Lions.
This was a brutal loss. We should've closed the deal up in the 4th at home. But we choked it away. And there are no excuses for that. But I saw some good signs today from our star players and from our offensive scheme. Go out and beat Houston, and get back in the division.
this team on a drive to tie the game a d a player fumbles because theg fell over and thd ball hit the ground? This is probably the fourth time I remember.
Remember 2011 when Cruz fumbled the ball but was bailed out by the official with the he gave himself up to the ground call. Actually there quite a few of those non-contact fumbles that season as well.
Still the bigest non-contact fumble had to be Eli's fumble
against the Eagles trying to slide. And yes I thought about his slide issues today when he ran.
His slide looked good today, guess they coached him up.
O is improving, Eli looked good. What the heck is up with the specials, last season they were atrocious, that can not continue this year. Specials are the main reason the Giants lost today.
Picking up right where they left off from last year, the Giants may have the worst return game in the NFL.
And then it happened again against them. The Giants always have stuff like that happen against the Eagles. You are guaranteed at least one terrible turnover a year against the Eagles.
The Cruz dropping the ball was a huge call by the official. Possibly no Superbowl if that call goes the other way.
Giants had everything going against them -- bad pre-season, bad prior week (loss, injuries, blah, blah), and, most important the refs. Nevertheless, despite the bogus penalties against them called, and good ones on the other team not called, there were a couple of real chances to win this one at the end despite all that. But our suppposed playmakers could not manage to catch the ball. Really? Can't catch? In the NFL? Not once, but twice, and then give up the ball when no one is touching you and fumble it away. What is it about NY that does this -- over- pay and under-perform? Why does anyone put up with it? Damned if I know.
STFU Manning was one of the bright spots today, troll
+1
Coughlin - we're dissapointed
Manning - we did some good things
Rolle - we have to fight harder
Somebody - hey, they get paid too
That's all I heard all week on this site.
So this is still Eli's fault to the vast majority of you.
Clearly he is throwing it too hard into Cruz's stomach.
On the plus side you saw what McAdoo meant when Eli is a fit for his offense. And Donnell played well as well as DRC.
As far as the rest of the team, the OL got no push in the run game, and was only OK overall pass blocking. The D did pretty well overall. The weren't responsible for most of the points, and several AZ drives were kept alive by bullshit calls. The real story is all the drops.
Team is undisciplined.
as for the game, fuck it....get drunk...
Sounds about right
Like 2013 all over again
*Larry Donnell
*DRC
*JPP
*McAdoo
*Giants OL
Negatives:
*Ref's, I've never seen a game with that many terrible and inconsistent calls, If i was the Commissioner they would be fired before they walked off the field.
*Perry Fewell
*Victor Cruz, stfu and and be a captain and football player. Talk is cheap.
*ST's. Terrible ST play as usual.
Positives...oline pass pro better, passing game looked a little better, minus drops, Eli played fairly well and Donnell looks like the real deal.
ball
I'm starting to think that the team tuned TC and co. out a couple of years ago and just haven't listened to him since.
And the Saints are pretty good too;-).
Woohoo!
I'll add that the OL did a nice job picking up the blitz most of the day and Eli looked good in the pocket.
Giants beat themselves. They have no one else to blame but themselves.

Last week it was on Eli. This week special teams. Next week it will be something else, trust me.
His snarky comment directed to Fewell was, the longer the distance the opposition has the easier it is to convert.
Was he available today ! WTF why not...
I thought Cards got their fair share of bad calls too.
This game was there to be won. They actually had to work at it to give this one away.
First Rangers related post from BaadBill i'm on board with
lol
league is fixed
Offense plays well, D begin to crack
Offense and D play well, ST fucks up royally. It is ongoing throughout the years.
Eli threw well today, this was a team effort in inconsistency...PERIOD...FULL STOP!
Was he available today ! WTF why not...
Because he's a rookie
Probably worst news! McClain nor Herzlich can play LB!!!!!!!
They're not capable of not fumbling?
JPP had 1.5 sacks and 2 tackles, not the problem.
Good thing Gilbride retired, he was really holding the team back, haha
Bad teams have a tendency to do that.
Coughlin: "The longer the yardage is on third down the easier it is for the opponent to make it." About his defense.
Bullshit. Why is Demps allowed to run every return out of the endzone whether he is short of the 20 yard line or not. That's his call. DRC and Prince are making the call to play off the line of scrimmage. LBers are making the call to cover Larry out there?
Yes they are.... that's BS. They dropped way too many passes today, had too many penalties at critical times and turned the bal l over at inopportune moments. They could have probably tied the game up on the drive where Jennings fumbled, even with all the other BS that happened.
Good thing Gilbride retired, he was really holding the team back, haha
Dont Winston. Want OL. I would draft skill guys, but we are striking out left and right with some of these WRS (PLEASE COME BACK odb.)
Beason in a walking boot...Hurt same toe.
Good thing Gilbride retired, he was really holding the team back, haha
yes, must have been Eli's fault that Cruz forgot how to catch.
Coughlin: "The longer the yardage is on third down the easier it is for the opponent to make it." About his defense.
I said that today. It's very fucking true. Draw play on 3rd and 14 and it works?!!!!????!!!!!!????!? That's the mark of a very bad team, very bad.
I fear we've dug ourselves a hole that we may not be able to get out of for years and years.
I'm starting to think that the team tuned TC and co. out a couple of years ago and just haven't listened to him since.
I agree. This team does not play like a well coached team.
All coaches have a sell-by date.
Sure would like to hear some truly positives coming from folks here.
Larry Donnell. That's it.
Offense was by far the strongest unit today.
I think Giants win next week.
Fire his ass now.

Jints I hate Fewells defense, and we have given up 3rd and Plus 10's for years under him, and guess what? if TC retires, he'll be the next head coach under Reese and Co
He had 1 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, 2 passed defensed and 2 more QB hits.
Not sure what else you want from him.

They have to. It's become essentially a must win. If we go 0-3, we'll probably never recover and Houston won't be an easy out either.
and no team that has started 0-4 has ever made the playoffs

sees the game as a positive.

Well, I'll take the heat for being the ahole pessimist...
Gotta get that first win though and then hopefully we will be good enough to be in the race for the division.

Eli looked the best he's looked since early 2012. So we can hang our hats on that. I hope Beckham makes a contribution this season, if only in the return game.
Oh, and Tom Quinn.
Reece sucks!
be changing rules so refs can throw games
more easily...
You want to bring THAT up now?
Jesus.
kept Cards drive alive to get 3...then we
fumble. ..and have a few chances to come
back but nobody can catch.
jsboston, that site linked to my post indicates it was quoting stats starting in 1990 ...

bad
bad

They did!

had no running game.
had three critical turnovers and at least nine penalties.
had innumerable drops.
gave up a PR for a TD.
We beat ourselves. That's what bad teams do.
(sarcasm)
i was watching the linebackers in this game - look at spencer paysinger on the 3rd and G carry after they reversed fitzgerald's TD. He is unblocked but instead of filling the hole and making the stuff he just stands there.

I don't care if we shot ourselves, an official's job performance has nothing to with what mistakes a team make.
Definitely the worst NFC East team.

I was worried about the O going into the season not the D. Looks like Perry is going back to his early 2011 defense, probably until it will be too late for a turn around.
On a side note, if the the fucking receivers and running backs can hold onto the ball it looks like we will be seeing a better O moving forward.
Year after year after year, Quinn gets a pass. Unreal. STs were a joke today. And even minus the big mistakes on STs, heaven forbid we get a KO return that goes past the 20-30. Christ.
Forget about Banks. He has already said he is unwilling to ever call out a coach. No matter what. He always put it on the players. If PF ran on the field and took a dump, Banks would say it's the players' job to work around the pile of shit.
No the HC is the one. Reese should be allowed to pick
His own coach

Just a desperation heave into coverage. Pointless.

Just a throw over the middle on the last play of the game. Totally pointless. Giants had the ball, down 9, only seconds left. Instead If running it out, Eli gets clobbered on first down and picked on second down. Giants need to help him out a little - bad enough they surround him with a pile of shit on offense.
We miss the Nicks of 2 years ago. Our wrs stink in traffic.
Next Giant possession with lead, Cruz drops 3rd down pass for a 1st
Punt Return for TD
Receive Kickoff fumble
Eli get ball and drives Giants to AZ 17 and Jennings fumbles
Eli gets ball back Randle drops pass
This was not the fault of Eli or the OL
As for JPP 1.5 sacks, 2 TFL, 2 PD, 2 QB hits
Also, on his pick, Cruz stumbles into the pattern and is almost on the ground as the ball is defelcted
Bad shit happens to bad teams.
That was just one bad play out of many today.
Who's coaching this team?
Who's leading this team?
The Giants only had three possessions in the first half because the Cardinals held the ball.
The defense has to carry the team right now. This is a team who they should have held to a field goal or two. Not surrender 10 points early and then allow the Cards to switch field position again in the 2nd quarter when the D had them backed up.
...like that 3rd down draw that went for something like 14 yards and a first down in the first quarter?
Ugh.
You are correct, McClain should move to the middle, Paysinger and Williams on the outside. That's our best 3 if Beason is injured.
I bet there are fewer clicks on BBI then in recent years.....this team is turning a lot of people off
He's so afraid when pressure comes. Forces the ball out leads to bad things.
He can't just hang in the pocket and make a throw. He's regressing
somewhat, but I think the overall D was lacking intensity late in the game regardless.
you're off youur ass.

Am I missing something. Why didn't he move to the middle when Beason went down?

Kennard is better than either Williams or Paysinger
With Beason and Thurmond out, we are further weakened on the defense. This is not going to bode well, especially for a Defense that can't get off the field on 3rd down.

I will be sure to look for them if you can tell me what "loses" are.
We do all of the time...it's weird.
Except for Beason, our linebackers are very reliable. You can always count on them to suck.
I bet there are fewer clicks on BBI then in recent years.....this team is turning a lot of people off
I DVRed the game. I didnt want to waste a beautiful day on this team.
Except for last year where we beat enough of them to move us into a shittier draft slot.
1980: 8 (Mark Haynes)
1981: 2 (LT)
1984: 3 (Carl Banks)
Remember 2011 when Cruz fumbled the ball but was bailed out by the official with the he gave himself up to the ground call. Actually there quite a few of those non-contact fumbles that season as well.
The Cruz dropping the ball was a huge call by the official. Possibly no Superbowl if that call goes the other way.
We just lost to Drew Freaking Stanton. At home. UFB.
