When do the Giants get their first win?

JohnB : 9/15/2014 9:50 am
I look at the schedule and wonder. Yes "on any given Sunday" stuff applies but looking at the schedule without rose-colored glasses and I wonder.

Maybe they win on the road against the Redskins on Sept 25 but with Kirk Cousins running the show, that could be tough esp on a short week (and on the road). Dallas on the road October 19? Okay but that means yet another 0-6 start. If not Dallas on the road, it might be Dallas at home on Nov 23rd. Wow. This doesn't look good at all.
2015?

Game 3 2015...home against the Eagles.

Naw, Sunday. The Texans are going down! I do predict, however, even though the Giants win there will be at least one thread saying there was no improvement and one thread saying it's time to bench Manning.
There is no team that the Giants are guaranteed a win against.

I'll just go in hoping they can pull one out before it gets 0-6 ugly again.
I think they will beat Houston next week

Not sure how much of that is wishful thinking though because with the team Reece has assembled this year any wins would be a Miracle performance by the coaches and players.
This is what Giants football has come to.

Not do you think they will the division. Not do you think they will compete for a first round bye. Not how many games will they win but, when do you think they will win their first game. Think about that. When will they win a game. This is your new era of Giants football.
I am trying to look at it reasonably

And I think that they can win 2 or of 3 against Jacksonville, Tenn and then Washington at home. But outside of that, it might be tough to see a win coming.

Just for the time being, I'd be happy for continued progress on OL and other little areas. They have to take baby steps first

How can anyone be that sure of anything with the way they played all preseason and have taken that ahem, negative wave of ineptitude into the regular season. They wanted to get off to a fast start. That's all Antrell Roll talked about. Now that they have lost those first two games don't you think they are already feeling the pressure of another slow.

They wouldn't be human if last years disasterous start is not creeping into the back of their minds at this point. The pressure couldn't be anymore significant then it is this week. Because they know if they lose that's all anything anyone will want to talk about. And that can only pile onto the negativity that already exists.
As a group...

I think we had Carolina as a win last year in game three after an 0-2 start.

The Texans...probably not as good or as their point differntial.....but will be a confident team. Hopefully over confident and the ebb and flow of the NFL catches up with them.

This Sunday

But I do genuinely believe we get it this week. I think we turned a corner offensively against Arizona. I trust the veteran leadership on this team to make the urgency of this game clear and I think we won't make the same crippling mistakes we made against Arizona.
So, combine last year and the present: we are 7 - 11.

A former coach once said "You are what your record says you are."
