but next man up. Maybe we'll be able to resign him more cheaply at the end of the year. Wonder if James gets a call. I don't think anybody picked him up. Or maybe they promote Jackson from the PS. Hosley is terrible. You only turn to him if there is another injury at that position.
For Teflon Jerry who redid the contract for the oft injured Baas twice. Gave Beason a new deal despite a recent history of injuries. Gave Breatty a big long term deal well Into to his 30s w history of back issues. Redid Snee after he was breaking down.
Yeah so I guess he does sign guys w injury issues. Walter wasn't one and Reese still sucks as a GM as this isn't the only thjng he does shitty. Draft being the worst.
if reese let Beason walk, we'd have the usual shitheads talking about how he serially ignores the LB's. Now he gets signed and it is a shitty thing.
You cant win in a room full of morons.
Agree. And I was (incorrectly) against trading a seventh for Beason. He was well worth the pick. His current injury is also unrelated to the injuries he had at Carolina. But even if he doesn't play again this year, he can come back next season. It's a violent game. Many teams have already suffered a lot worse than the Giants. Look at KC. I fault Reese for a lot of things, but who can control injuries? No one.
It will be interesting to see what the Giants do once Thurmond goes on IR. I think they've soured on James, and will therefore bring up Jackson. In a few weeks, we will also have to make decisions about Hosley and Herman. Absent more injuries, I think Hosley gets cut. Not sure about Herman.
And getting cut from Seattle's defense isn't exactly something to be too embarrassed about. Would like the Giants to at least check him out. I'm just glad the Giants had the forsight to go heavy on the free agent signings in the secondary this offseason to brace for these sort of injuries (and suspensions).
people will be saying the secondary was the biggest weakness on this team and the biggest area of concern heading into 2015. Because that's how things work in the NYG universe.
Taylor, who was suffering with a torn pectoral muscle in his shoulder, should have joined them on the sidelines. Wearing a harness to keep his shoulder in place, he managed to record an incredible seven tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. The Giants won a squeaker 13-12. "I thought that was his most spectacular game," declared Parcells. "I thought it was his finest hour from a courage standpoint."
T2 looked very slow towards the end of last year and apparently wasn't good enough to warrant a spot on any NFL teams roster despite CB being a premium position. I think there's a good chance he's just finished.
The question of next man up in the slot is interesting, especially given Hosley's struggles, and the other veterans are better suited to playing outside.
It forces you to play Quintin Demps on every down which would be a HUGE issue. And Rolle is significantly better at safety than CB. They have to figure out who between Bowman, McBride, Hosley, etc can swing it. My money is on Bowman. That guy can play and is very underrated.

He did earn defensive player of the week though, so there was something left there.
let's create lots of depth at corner, except for slot, so when the number one slot corner goes down, let's take the best safety to play slot? that's the depth chart? yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
Better than losing the outside guys
and drafting them too!
You can't sign injured players, wouldn't get passed the physical.
Walter Thurmond III Likely Done for Year with Torn Pectoral - ( New Window )

When he's no longer injured.
Here's a look at where the Giants can go at the nickel CB position. Teaser, very little depth.

Isn't Beatty 29?
Has not played or practiced since he signed his rookie contract.
Signed starting guard for 4M per?
Hurt his widdle toe and has not played a game.
Signed a DB to start and play nickle?
Almost made it thru two losses before going down for the season.
Extended starting MLB?
Who knows if he will return but it does not look good.
The Giants injury situation is again almost cosmically bad .
Instant karma's gonna get you - gonna knock you right in the head.
