As a stop gap measure for the rest of the season hope they look into Terrell Thomas who was cut recently by Seattle...obviously not the same player as a few years ago following 2 devastating ACL surgeries...but he played well last year...and is one year removed from his latest surgery...so his knee is probably stronger...might be worth kicking the tiers...
be surprised if they bring back T2 or Webster. In the short run, I think it will be McBride. But as to who takes Thurmond's place once he goes on IR, I think it will be Jackson.
Regarding the roster move some flexibility based on overall needs have to be considered. This puts Hosley somewhat in the running to return to the team.
he was horrendous this summer. Anytime the other team passed in his direction it was a completion. Defense that has been very average is definitely weaker without Beason and Thurmond.
other teams have a mantra of 'next man up', while we seem to have the mantra of 'who's sitting on the couch that we can wake up and sign?' seemingly regardless of the position.
It says volumes that they spent millions on a vet so they could keep Hosley off the field. But if he's anything, he's a nickel corner.
FWIW, Hosley hasn't been much worse than Corey Webster was his first two years. He seems to make a lot of the same mistakes Webster did. Whether that stuff is coachable, I have no idea. To this naive fan, Hosley appears to just flat-out suck. It's weird to see him look so utterly lost; he certainly had a lot of support in the draftnik community (the Walter Football profile below is typical), and I think Greg on LI was only BBIer who really hated the pick. For all his past bad play (and it has been pretty bad), looks like he will be immediately available and reinstated this week, like Herman, as a result of the drug rule change.
with Bowman as a possibility. What I would NOT do is move Rolle to the slot. This was mentioned as a possibility, but that killed his effectiveness for a couple of years. We need him playing a true S position.

Why not Charles James?
I'd go with who they have. Bowman, Hosley when he's back, McBride, even possibly Jackson or fenner off the PS.
can't move Rolle, just don't have the safety depth.

Oh, they can. They can, and they might!
And God no to Hosley.
