Which is a shame because he is an exciting, talented young man. He's also someone who, by all accounts, would be a great ambassador of the game. I am rooting for him except for twice per season.
I think the players on that team hate RG3. Every time Cousins comes in, the line actually blocks better, the receivers fight for balls, the RBs fight for yards, and the defense plays with more fury and passion.
bring him back next year, but right now it's Collins's job to lose. Of course, if he stinks it up the rest of the year, then Bob has a chance to regain his job. But he has torn the same ACL twice, and now had a dislocated ankle.
They had Rex Grossman they could have let Grossman start and let RGIII learn to read defenses better from a pro set (he did have the aptitude for it from what I saw in interviews) and learn how to protect himself better. The Giants did this with Eli Manning his rookie year when Kurt Warner started the first half of the year. Shannahan was more worried about his job that he stupidly threw RGIII right into the fire

From who's account? Bob is perfect for Snyder and skins nation. Not sure he'd be a great ambassador of the game based on how the whole shanahan thing went down. Bob is shady.
but the team seems to play better with Cousins. Who knows how it will be once teams have more film to look at but I think it will be tough to bring him back if Cousins wins games.
And by that I mean he is not an NFL QB. Never was. The read option gimmick will get your QB killed . The hype for this guy was off the charts but he does not make plays in the pocket.
I also agree his teammates probably hate his arrogant ass.
from the standpoint of being a consistent starter in the league.
He is not smart with how he protects himself, and on top of that his body doesn't seem to take the grind of being an NFL QB. Two knee injuries adds to that.
And I also think Wash is better off, in the long run, with Cousins at QB.
Because Griffin always be legend here in DC. I mean, Sean Taylor still is given the preponderance of his jerseys worn down here as well as the multitude of car decals with the "21" on them. No disrespect to the departed, but it's as if he's the best DB of all time according to Beltway folks. Maybe Snyder can put a statue of Griffin at FedEx (or the new park, ha!) to bookend the one that exists as Baylor.
Tough call. Usually I don't label guys as busts due to injury; however, each is a different case. Chad Jones you can't call a bust because nobody could have foreseen the injury that ended his career. It was fairly reasonable to expect that a QB with Bob's style of play may have injury concerns in the NFL. T. Thomas is a guy that would qualify as an injury bust in that he had previous serious injuries in college and was drafted with that knowledge. If a player like that does have a short career due to injury, it is fair to call him a bust I think. So, I think calling Bob a bust is fair, since these injuries was something that was always expected as a possibility and should have factored into the draft equation on when to select him.
Chad Jones and T Thomas didn't cost the Giants 3 1st round picks...
...the Griffin deal could become their version of the Herschel Walker trade. Basically, it wound up being Griffin and another inconsequential pick (maybe a 2013 sixth-rounder?) for:
Michael Brockers
Janoris Jenkins
Alec Ogletree
Greg Robinson
Zac Stacy
Stedman Bailey
Isaiah Pead
Rokevious Watkins
It's already a five-for-one (or five-for-zero) deal, as Brockers, Jenkins, Ogletree, and Stacy are key Rams, and Robinson is a prodigious young talent. Bailey will probably contribute too, once his reinstatement becomes official. Pead's career is in jeopardy after a torn ACL. Watkins is long gone, and currently suspended.

I don't get this either. Skins fans talk about Sean Taylor as if he was the greatest safety to ever play. When in reality early in his career he was an overly aggressive athlete (a lot like Landry) who was often out of position. He grew into a top safety in the NFL, not a HOF player. You can't have a discussion with a skins fan about Sean Taylor unless it starts with - Sean Taylor was destined for Canton from the first time he stepped on the field.
Griffin gets a very similar treatment and his injuries get blamed for any bad play he ever does.
Maybe its because they've been awful for so long that they
build up these players to be better in their minds than they are in reality, so they can have something to feel good about.
They've been bad for a long, long time. The best QB they've had for probably the past 20 years (off the top of my head) came from a season or two of Mark Brunell, Brad Johnson, or Trent Green.
How do you know he's a good kid? Everything we have heard the last two years indicates Bob is the typical modern day prima donna. He runs to Snyder whenever he doesn't get his way....the whole Shanahan/Bob relationship was odd to say the least, toxic if you believe half of what the papers say.
Whatever, it's not important but I found it odd that anyone on here would go out of their way to prop up RG3's ambassador like qualities. Nothing to do with my NYG loyalties. I just think RG3 is a flaky dude. Always have.
Won't matter. RG3 will be a full time backup before 2016. He's not any good. He had his fun.

Since Theisman their QBs have been
1-Schroeder
2-Williams
3-Rypien
4-Shuler
5-Frerotte
6-Green
7-Johnson
8-Banks
9-Ramsey
10-Brunell
11-Campbell
12-McNabb
13-Grossman
14-Griffin
albeit in an era when you could be more of a game manager.
Also, Rypien was a good passer but I have always thought he got knocked around too much and became gunshy. With today's rules, he may have put up good numbers, probably better than the likes of Andy Dalton and a few other starters.

Kent Graham?
Tommy Maddox?
In 1999 Kent Graham started more games, but Collins was still the passing leader on that season, in 1998 Kent started 6 games and was not the passing leader. I went with each season's passing leader for the list to keep it simple. Tommy Maddox never started a game for the Giants and only attempted 23 passes with them. Link - ( New Window )

lOL..
I happen to like Kirk Cousins

Why would you judge him on a small sample size, esp from last year?
Didn't he play very well two years ago in relief of RG3?
He's got a big arm, and most likey gets better as he plays as the starter.
The Colts made the right pick.
Bob will probably always be injury-prone. See Michael Vick. Horrific decision to draft RG3 and give up that much.
He's become quite smug. I can think of a lot of guys who would represent the league better than that douche.
Sucks about his injury problems though.
I mean, Sam Bradford was still starting this year and he's been just as injured and never as good as RG3.
Even if this isn't the last we see of him, how much longer you thinking?

You sound like an idiot Giants fan. The type that embarrass us.
He's a good kid. Grow up.
Injury aside, aside from one season in a fairly gimmicky offense, RG3 was pretty putrid as a passer up to this point.
I think there is a good possibility that he busted without the injuries.
I don't think Cousins is anything special in any case. Virtually anyone can carve up the damn Jaguars.
