Can we get Betances
Zebra3 : 9/15/2014 7:32 pm : link
to hit longo in the chops like they did to Henley? They hit Jeter that game too.
i'd settle for some decent hitting with RISP
RasputinPrime : 9/15/2014 7:45 pm : link
jeez Ichiro.
hopefully Jeter with a night off
RasputinPrime : 9/15/2014 7:50 pm : link
can give him the energy he needs to get at least one more hit. He has been awful in September.
there are less interesting things to watch
RasputinPrime : 9/15/2014 8:34 pm : link
but none that come to mind. Capuano in a game we don't need to win or lose.

Sexciting.
He is pitching a nice game...

I guess that's cool.
but we are hitting like dogcrap
RasputinPrime : 9/15/2014 10:28 pm : link
which isn't.
Blaming the hitting coach may be a fool's errand...
Dunedin81 : 9/15/2014 10:31 pm : link
but with maybe two exceptions that entire team is hitting well below career averages. Yeah it doesn't help that they're all fucking old, but Long still needs to go.

And we're set up to lose this, which sucks but serendipitously saves us from extra-inning disappointment.
Fix. The. Offense.

0-0 in the 9th inning, eventually you're going to lose if you can't score, and that's what happened.

How many times have the Yankees been shutout this year ?

Cashman, Long and Giradri will all keep their jobs too. What a disgrace
talk about
RasputinPrime : 9/15/2014 10:44 pm : link
limping to the finish line. No reason to leave Kelley in there against Joyce and Zobrist.

Towelled
Like We Didn't See That Coming...

Still amazed that with all the SP injuries this year, pitching hasn't been their problem. If these guys could've just hit their career averages, this is a playoff team. Pathetic.
I'd rather they leave him in there...
Dunedin81 : 9/15/2014 10:55 pm : link
I want to see Betances have a managed workload the rest of the way. The worst thing they could do the rest of this season, save for screwing up the Tanaka injury, is overusing Betances with nothing on the line.
Next Year

I'm curious to see what they do in the off-season; all of these 38-yr-old fat cats will be yet another year older, and they will have a broken-down A-Rod (replete with media circus) to deal with again too. I like the hustle I'm seeing from some of their in-season pickups, but there are just too many Jesse Barfield-type boat anchors in the lineup.
