The only teams worse than the GMEN on MNF are:
Bengals
Falcons
Cardinals
Not a very good prime time team.
We did have the 17-0 comeback vs the SF in 86 Bravaro carrying the entire team!!! Hated losing to the niners in 90 I think the final was 9-7? Simms and Lott going at it at the end of the game!! We did Avenge that loss when it counted!

I had found the following win percentages of the coaches before Coughlin on Monday Nights:

Parcells: 7-10-1 (.389)
Handley: 3-1 (.750)
Reeves: 2-3 (.400)
Fassel: 1-8 (.111)

Only Ray Handley had a better than .500 record in Primetime.

And even that win was almost shot to hell when Deion Sanders returned a punt for a TD with no time remaining but - thank God - there was a flag on the play and the game was over.

For a long time, the MNF matchup was picked to be a "premium" game. The Giants are/were a draw for primetime games even when the team isn't very good, because it's a large fanbase. So that meant that they got a fair amount of MNF games, but often ended up matched up with a team that was projected to be one of the better teams in the League that season. (1990s Dallas being the primary example.)
