I am writing this thread to just give everybody a heads up that there is a new album coming out with a song about Hope Johnson. I have never had the pleasure of meeting Hope but I know she has had a lasting impact on numerous posters on this site. She sounded like a tremendous person so for those that have a connection to her then this might be something to look into. For those that don't maybe we can use this thread to tell some stories of Hope so we can all be enlightened.
There is a BBI poster named Tim Motz and goes by the username of nittmo. He is a song writer and his band is called the Meatiers. They are a rock band on the south fork of Long Island. Their debut album, I think, is called Songs from the Briar Patch. On that album there is a song written in honor of Hope Johnson. I'm sorry though because I do not know the name of the track. The album should be out this September and, I guess, can be found on their Facebook page which is linked below.
On a personal note, my now wife sang one of the songs on the album. Once again, I don't know the name of the track. I am very proud of her and I cannot wait to hear it. I wound up getting Tim's number from one of my friends because he advertised somewhere that he needed a singer. My girlfriend at the time and now wife is a tremendous singer and I kept urging her to get back into singing. She finally built up the courage to give Tim a call and get started working with him. She sang one song with him years ago and since then they have sporadically kept in touch to sing other songs. Through this process Tim and I realized that each of us are Giants fans and he mentioned BBI. My girl just laughed and told him how I am ALWAYS on that website, lol. Just recently though Tim said he had a perfect song for her to sing and that he would put it on the album. She obliged and there is actually a release party this weekend in West Hampton, I believe. I am very proud of both Tim and my wife and I look forward to hearing both the song about Hope as well as the song that my wife sang.
I don't know how much the album is nor do I feel comfortable promoting it here since I don't want the mods to delete the thread but I still think it is something that I should do. Thanks.

He never posts though. We have to change that.
Thanks for sharing robbie and congrats to you, your wife and nittmo. I look forward to hearing both songs (the one dedicated to Hope and the one your wife sings on).
At the Super Bowl in Tampa, I had access passes to all the major events and got her into the Commishioner's Party, which was "the" party at the time, so she could hobnob with the NFL elite. When we were going in we ended up on the wrong side of the building and asked this guy how to get to the party. It was Brian Billick. I said, hey coach, don't you have a game tomorrow?
He said he had a personal obligation to fulfill and assured us he was heading right back to his hotel. Hope asked him If he thought he had a chance against Fassel and the Jints. He proceeded to tell us of his close relationship with Fassel, was happy as could be with his success but that he knew everything that Fassel would try to do and we had little chance of moving the ball at all.
Billick steered us in the right direction and went his way, I played it off as bravado but Hope looked at me and said "I'm scared, did you see the sincerity in his eyes? That man had no fear!"
Of course Billick was right and the rest I've removed from my memory but Hope could read people, she had a heart as big as New Jersey but wasn't gullible in the least. She could see love, fear, strength, sincerity. I'm a better person for knowing her.
I'm glad she liked me too, I actually had to ask her permission to marry my wife whom Hope introduced me to at camp.
It's good to know she's not forgotten...

Not to digree.. Hope what a beautiful person!
As many of you know, I ran into Hope & Berrylish at Superbowl XLII. It was fate that we would cross paths. I was there honoring my father, who had died almost exactly a year earlier, and she was there to spread the ashes of the dearly departed Bob in Annapolis. It was great to run into them so unexpectedly, which just added to that magical weekend that ended with the Giants becoming Superbowl Champions for the 3rd time.
I'll always treasure that chance meeting with Hope that wonderful day.
5 of us got into that party on 2 passes. It was Hope J's pin that I kept sticking myself with trying to put it back on ( it was open bar man) which led to the infamous Steve Young NTTAWT look.
I lost track of Hope after I came back out for you, Walter and Adam relieved us, I believe.
I couldn't get Hope a game ticket though, I remember telling her to find a police report from Friday and Saturday night and go to Will Call saying that those arrested won't be attending. She got in before the end of the first quarter...
If you have a time I urge you to go to the archives and read it. I still have the print out.
I also have the 74 pages I printed out from 12/10/2009 RIP Hope J, the day my life changed, the day I found out one of my very best friends passed away unexpectedly, alone in her apartment.... It is a testament to the person she was and will always be.
Pictures in that thread include, the best picture ever, the one of Hope that made the Giants Christmas card, her Barber sandwich (Hope between Tiki and Ronde), various BBI shots, and Hope holding children so they could get autographs.
Her facebook quote, and yes almost 5 years later I have this memorized, "Short, brown and round, a child of God, but most of all... happy!"
And almost 5 years later, tears still flow, right now as a matter of fact for the friend lost too soon. I will miss you forever!
My dinner ready yet?
