He'll win anther championship. Somebody will draft him high in the first round. He'll get a butt load of money upfront. He'll f$$$ up and get kicked off the team.
Not a bad life if you can make it work.
Hell, they were talking about who was going to trade for Peterson this afternoon on sports radio.
I want Mariota. I want nothing to do with this immature little spoiled fucking brat. He couldn't even bus in with the baseball team to Tampa. It's not an extremely long drive. He took a private plane to Tampa and had an off duty police officer as his driver/security. I've never seen anything like that for a college player. Tim Tebow was way more popular and he was always treated as an equal to the rest of the team.

You think that occurred to keep him under control?
Ironic. Some idiot posted that he should be considered as the next QB
of the Giants and got angry when I said he should play in the California Penal League ( I don't think he got the Major League reference), said he "wasn't convicted".
Not convicted, he's just an asshole who the Giants should not and will not have any interest in.
much of an anti-Giant's type player that if he's available when we pick, I'd be shocked if we didn't trade down or just bypass him altogether.
There is almost zero chance we draft a trainwreck like that, especially with the recent focus on abuse and sexual assaults and anything of that nature.
Spot on FMiC. And aside from the off field mess that
This kid doesn't get it. He's gotten very lucky so far. Most likely why he thinks he can keep acting that way. Not sure if he drops out of the first round but with Peterson being sat and Rice being cut even the most desperate QB needy teams may have to pass till the later rounds to avoid the backlash.
No matter how good he is if he has to miss games or the fear of him missing games will be an issue. If teams can't even project he'll be available regularly on Sundays to help you can't think he's a guy you want on your roster.
But I just read the article. Apparently this was a meme. He was repeating a joke that was going around online. I know he is supposed to be a role model and that is totally fair, but he's also a 20 year old kid. I know more kids who would probably yell out a vulgar internet meme than not at that age.
He is ABSOLUTELY wrong and needs to grow up, but let's not make a mountain out of a molehill on this one. He's had one far, far greater transgression.

Bingo.. If I remember correctly it started from a guy being interviewed at the World Cup and he just randomly said it on live tv lol
He is now suspended for the 1st half against Clemson this Saturday
may or may not have a character issue in the NFL, but a lot of this stuff is just the availability of information. We're getting cafeteria behavior reports now?
What do we think Dan Marino or Joe Namath or (whoever) was like in college?

It's the digital age. I'm sure athletes in the past had plenty of crap swept under the rug, but nowadays that isn't realistic. Athletes can and will be docked come draft time if teams perceive the likelihood of embarrassment.
I think it's funny. But he's probably going to be the kind of dude who never quite "gets" it and winds up in hot water often. Not the type of dude I'd be clamoring for.
Like no one on this board has something stupid in their early 20's

Sure...but with all of the extra perks he probably gets, someone should hire a PR manager for him to train him on how to properly market himself. After winning the Heisman and leading his team to the National Championship win, he's got to know that all of his actions will be dissected by the public. So why not play it smart until he gets his guaranteed contract? We get it, he's still a kid, but when you have so many people around you, who want you to succeed, you hope that someone would provide him with the resources to not make such stupid scenes that will be fodder for the media.

I'd agree Jerry, if this happened to be an isolated case or if all of Jameis' transgressions were more or less benign (Johnny Manziel). When I look at Winston's antics with what he's been associated with in his career I start to view the mosiac; this is a young man that may have serious problems.
RE: Like no one on this board has something stupid in their early 20's
But he isn't just your normal 20 year old. He's a potential $20+ million dollar cash-cow for some people with far more resources than most of us will ever have. His parents/handlers/whoever should be doing their best to keep him out of the news.

Sure, but not standing on a table in the middle of the student center with the past allegations he carries. If nothing else it shows a lack of common sense that would worry me.

You have middle aged plus, on this forum, that STILL lack common sense.
RE: RE: RE: Like no one on this board has something stupid in their early 20's
that the shit he does won't be taped if he's famous.
2. He's been accused (seriously) of rape and stole crab legs. Yelling "fuck her in the pussy" might be the typical teenage brain cell firing, but you want to give this dipshit a ton of money when he can't keep a stupid fucking meme to himself?
3. Every fucking year you hear about NFL prospects getting hammered because of shit that they did. As a potential #1 pick, you would think something would float through his brain.

- this kid's complete lack of self-awareness is mind-blowing. I almost prefer that he thinks he bulletproof as opposed to the alternative, which is that he's actually as stupid as he appears.
- I doubt anyone else on the team would've gotten suspended for this.

That's what I say!
Yes...

I just would rather go with Nassib then have this guy as the face of the Giants franchise.
