So nut the fuck up and get ready for another season.
Rangers are.. fast, soft, deep on D and have Hank. Likely a middling Eastern Conference seed.
Isles are.. young and talented up front, shitty D, upgrade in the net, still the LOLisles. Likely a who gives a shit, they're the Isles seed.
Devils are.. who fuckin knows. They have Lou, will probably win the East. Or be last. Nobody will care, seed..
Hurricanes are.. Have some Staal's. Stole the Whalers. Jints can suck my dick, seed.
Senators are.. Fuck you, Andy. Seed.
Leafs are.. Hi Sheppers! Seed.
Kings are.. Not a Dynasty. Fuck you. seed.
Sabres are.. Buffalo.. Have John Scott.?. Have another shot of crown royal, seed..
Whatever other teams BBI'ers root for, fuck you to.
The rules are;
Don't be a weeping gash on hockey threads..
Stop spamming me with your compromised email while you suck it, fish.
Anybody wanna fuckin go?
That was a great fucking spring, despite the swift kick to the balls in the Finals. Have no clue how the Rangers will match that run this year, but at least we don't have to watch Richards fumble around on the PP anymore.

whoa....semin flying all over their house.
Ho-hum, Pavel Buchnevich at it again, The 19-year-old Rangers prospect is currently getting things done over in the KHL.
Really hope we infuse some Kids in the line-up, but it "seems" as if AV like his Vets...
Either way LGR!!!
Ho-hum, Pavel Buchnevich at it again! - ( New Window )
I do find it amusing that in this age of speed and skill, the Flyers are still rolling out teams that resemble the Patrick Division champs of the mid-80s.
LOL
I'm tentatively excited about these Rangers. The top lines should stay relatively intact with a full year to reap the rewards of MSL and the continued development of CK. The bottom six should have a good amount of depth with a mix of veterans and youth to choose from. If JT Miller finally lives up to his first-round billing it would go a long way towards creating a deep team with a few waves of offense and responsible play in their own end, up front.
Defensively, I do think that losing Stralmoney for Boyle will turn out to be a net negative but I guess I'm excited we have that ever elusive PP QB(??)..if for nothing other then not having to read that its the team's fatal flaw from fans upset that the PP isn't scoring at 40%. Hopefully we can get a full season out of Staal and maybe see Conor Allen and/or McIlrath take the next step forward and grab a spot on the blueline.
I think it's shaping up to be another season just outside of the "elite" top seeds but with just as much of a chance to get hot in the playoffs and make a run
Bruins, Blackhawks, Kings, Penguins, and of course the Canadiens all better teams easily than the Rangers.
blues, sharks and avs slightly better.
Pouliot just too many stupid penalties and Stempniak can score just as well. Boyle is another Blair Betts. People wring their hands at the thought of him leaving then find out he is easily replaceable. Stralman was supposed to be a person to play on the power play, but he never did much. Dan Boyle will be a better option if he doesn't have osteoporosis.
He was way overpaid.
It's no surprise this is his 6 team in 8 seasons
Bruins, Blackhawks, Kings, Penguins, and of course the Canadiens all better teams easily than the Rangers.
blues, sharks and avs slightly better.

Yes, as a Canadiens fan I don't really know what it's like to lose a Stanley Cup. maybe someday I can feel that too. I'm so jealous.
The Rangers are believed to be offering the same deal they gave Dan Girardi, 6 years at $5.5 million, or a bit less. (NY Post)

I'm surprised you can remember what it's like to play for one. 21 years tends to dim the memories.

I'm hating the Girardi deal more every day. I actually think it's a fair market contract, but we have a few guys on D worthy of that amount. I would have traded him for assets at the deadline.

Tough spot, I'd rather keep Staal and trade DG as well, if cap space maps out as an issue, but hard to argue with keeping one of your leaders at fair market value.
I could not agree more. Love the moves they made this off season. Time for a few of their younger players on the D to step up. Goaltending tends to look better when the players in front of them play better and vice versa. I believe this team takes big step forward this year.
Another year but Isles are better. Grabowski, Kluemenin, Conacher, TJ Brennan then add in the youth. deHaan, Reinhart should make the club are all better players than we had in past. #Halakrules # Ochocincorules

I agree - Girardi's been a very good player for a long time. I thought he'd have a shorter peak given his style of play (hopefully the postseason was an aberration for Girardi and not a sign of things to come), and I'd rather spend that cash on depth.

Corsi/Fenwick numbers were better than their record last year, and were actually really good when Andrew McDonald wasn't on the ice. Add in an upgrade from dead-last in goaltending to around league average and the Isles are prime candidates for a big jump in the standings.

While the Isles don't go deep with proven D-men, unlike the past 5 years, they have a lot of talented prospects fighting for the last 1 or 2 d-man roster spots. Guys like Reinart/Pokka/Brennan/Pulock/Donovan/Czurchman are all going to be competing to get playing time. IMO, this is a better situation than dusting off Martinek/Pandolfo that we've seen them do recently.

Voice of reason right there..........
PJ - noticed you listed the teams in alphabetical order? LOL....
Do you feel the new NHL rules of diving will hurt the Habs?
We don't have the room for it with elite third liner Rick Nash on board.

No, there are divers on every team, most of it is when the stick gets up high. Habs have a reputation for it, and non-objective fans harp on it, but if they do it more than anyone else it's marginally at best and I expect it to decrease as it gets called more.
The Flyers, Lightning, Bruins, Canadiens, Penguins and Rangers are all teams I think can make it out. Even the Devils might be a wild card. I think the Bruins take a step back this year. Rangers record is probably a bit better without the early season adjustments, but they'll still be a 3-6th seed (3's being optimistic).
Fuck the Islanders.

There were a few times when I thought some guys had dead legs and were accused of diving by announcers.
Refs are idiots anyway. Fuck them.
The good news is that this concern comes at a position of organizational strength. Whether it be Girardi or Staal, the Rangers have Conor Allen, Dylan McIlrath, Mat Bodie, and Brady Skjei among others that can be eased into the lineup and developed at certain points in case a long-term move needs to be made.
Hopefully the Toronto imports recapture the scoring touch from a couple of years ago. That will give the Isles four playoff-worthy lines at least.
From a roster construction perspective, we don't have many guys you can point to as overpaid other than Nash, really. You can win with a shit contract (which Nash isn't, he's just underperforming). But you need a few guys producing well above their cap hit.
NHL Mic'd Up - ( New Window )
would have made the playoffs over Detroit easily if they had had competent goaltending (I showed the math using goal differential on an earlier thread). And of course they lost a superstar talent in JT for a long time. Really expect them to make the leap this year and be in the running for a 4-6 seed.
Devils I will not prognosticate on. I dont understand how they ever win.
Subtract Gionta, Briere, Vanek (rental),
add PA Parenteau, Tom Gilbert, Malhotra,
Huge wild card is Jiri Sekac.
they'll go as far as Carey Price takes them.
no super stars on that team, Galchenyuk could be one, but not yet.
Pacioretty scored the quietest 40 goals I can remember.
Agreed, and their talent level across the board is not top-tier.
what's harder to believe is by swapping out Andrei Markov for Malhotra the habs got younger.

irony doesn't mean what you think it means. I'm not sure gold means what you think it means either.
I think the CBJ will be very good this year. I grudgingly think the Isles will be up there..
And I think the East is extremely wide open.
Bruins, Pens and Habs are all very beatable.
I think the Eastern juggernaut this year will be Tampa Bay.

I hope not. Fuck those fucking ex-Rangers. Every single one of them.
#WewantahighSecondRounder
They'd be my pick to take 1st overall in the east.
I hope Tampa Bay is the 7th worst team, behind the Devils, Islanders, Penguins, Flyers, Hurricanes and Capitals.
Yeah, but it couldn't hurt. Why not? I mean we already have a few retreads in Lombardi and Malone. One more couldn't hurt. Haha
Preseason's Monday!!!
Also, I haven't taken two different NHL teams to the Stanley Cup final so I should probably shut my trap to defer to AV
2:06PM: AV said today, “On guys playing middle and wing, “I would say that versatility is a big bonus. In JT and Hayes, they are starting in the middle and as the camp unfolds we will look at decisions that need to be made. Nash on the right side, Nash on the left, things like that.” (via Lohud on Soundcloud)
1:02PM: Kevin Hayes and JT Miller are both opening training camp as centers. (Steve Zipay)
Hayes has played mostly wing at BC but played center during the Traverse City tournament.
Miller said that his preference is to play center but can also play wing. He said that center has started to “fit” him better in the pro game and while he has made strides, he still needs to work on his defensive zone coverage. (Rangers)

I said that a few weeks ago regarding TB, fuckface. Get on my level.
Probably Boychuck.
they're over the cap.
Start a new one that may have less stupid in it. Thanks Ian.
says the asshole fan
Michael Del Zotto is excited to play the Rangers
And the Rangers are REALLY excited to play Michael Del Zotto
people who use the word insufferable are pretty high on the douchebag scale themselves.

A lot of those thoughts were the same thing said five different ways.
I've been incrementally positive about the off-season moves over recent days, including Boyle. I'm ready for the season to start.
