and 10 OL on the roster already, someone will be cut this week.
Brewer? Brown? Reynolds? Jerry? Snider? or Herman?
Which one if these guys is your nominee to be an ex-Giant by next Monday?
If Brewer is healthy I think they cut Brown. Or maybe Herman gets waived off the suspended list?
The realistic candidates to be waived are Reynolds (the most likely choice), Brewer and Herman himself.
Giants have applied for a roster exemption in the case of OL Eric Herman, who was reinstated from suspended list as part of new policy - via Art Stapleton
to cut..but he is another Reese guy
As far as Herman is concerned, I agree that he hasn't shown much, but he is a seventh round pick in his second year. He also showed quite a lot, at least as a run blocker, in college, and was at least decent during the preseason. But it's less about Herman, and more about the others he might replace. Brewer, Brown, Reynolds, etc. have all reached their peak professionally. They aren't getting any better. Herman might not either. But he might.
Has anyone seen anything from Brewer that suggests he should even be on the roster?
There's no way the Giants consider Reynolds a better guard than Snyder. If they did, the Snyder signing would make no sense.
Reynolds is an easy cut because he has neither guarantees (unlike Jerry, Snyder and Brown) nor upside (unlike Mosley or Herman). With Brewer, it's basically a question of whether they think he can contribute this year, since he's a UFA next spring anyway.
The realistic candidates to be waived are Reynolds (the most likely choice), Brewer and Herman himself.
Is Snyder still vested even though he wasn't on the original Roster? IIRC you are only owed your whole salary if you are on from the final 53.
Not be Brewer, I guess.
