NFL Network: Does Matt Ryan have enough support to win 10

JOrthman : 9/18/2014 6:56 pm
I turned on the NFL Network on the pregame and that was the topic. Am I missing something? He has White and Jones and a solid running game...What am I missing?
haha
dep026 : 9/18/2014 6:59 pm : link
another reason why I dont watch these idiotic pregame shows.
Yeah, it's all Matt Ryan
BigBlueShock : 9/18/2014 7:04 pm : link
he lost Jones last year and he was terrible. He's nothing without all of those weapons, but why let facts get in the way, NFL Network?
Bear Pascoe at TE

That seals it...
It does seem
Pete in MD : 9/18/2014 7:43 pm : link
like the media really wants Ryan to be better than he is. It reminds me of pre-dogfighting Michael Vick.

Ryan is a huge benefactor of lots of unwarranted praise.

He's a good QB but the whole "Matty Ice" stuff always made we wonder what they see in him. He's had a loaded O forever. Just doesn't seem to be a top tier QB. Again he's a good to very good QB but I hits don't see the stud the media try's to make him into
His oline was terrible last year
kmed : 9/18/2014 9:13 pm : link
and only a little better this year. Giants fans should understand why he had a terrible year last year. He's a very good QB.
Don't be morons...

Matt Ryan is a very solid QB.

He makes good decisions with the ball, fairly accurate, good leader and shows surprising mobility.

The Andy Dalton of the NFC.

Great regular season. Playoffs? Prove something.

Maybe an easily accessible nickname/pun?
Over the last two years:

Ryan >>>>>>> Eli

and it's not even debatable. Dome, better weapons, whatever it is.
It really has nothing to do Eli or how good or bad Ryan is
JOrthman : 9/19/2014 8:44 am : link
I just couldn't believe they were acting as if he had crap for offenseive Weapons. If everyone is healthy he is stacked at WR and RB. They were very deep and even though last year thier line wasn't good they have improvied it. If he can't win with what he has I don't know what to tell you.
In crunch time

Matty Ice melts. You can set your clock to it.
Falcons are a good team

who were decimated by injuries last year. No reason why they cannot be contenders in the NFC if they remain healthy. I think they are a better football team than the Eagles.

Hey nicknames sell. As do FF stats. I really wonder how some of these supposed great QBs would be doing if the NFL hadn't decided to sell out to the notion that higher points means better football. Besides the fantasy guys anyone watch that game last night after 28 nothing? I switched to the K-State Auburn game.
Ultimately, the Falcons are built for turf/dome
JonC : 9/19/2014 10:13 am : link
which will normally produce little in the playoffs once they're forced to play outdoors on another surface.
It always seem that fans around here cast opinions
Geeman : 9/19/2014 3:16 pm : link
of QBs thru the prism of there Eli lenses...lol
Ryan is a solid NFL QB. As has been mentioned, he's line was every bit as bad as Eli's last year. He also lost Jones and Roddy was hobbled most of the year. So he's had to deal with his own issues on that team.
Where do the Falcons have a solid run game at?
Turner was terrible the last couple of seasons and Jackson has been terrible. Defense hasn't done much either.

Their RB's weren't terrible, their line was. Thier WR core is damn good. Douglass, thier third option, was a 1000 yard reciever last year and this year Hester is sitting behind him. White and JJ are both studs as WR's. If you don't think they are loaded with weapons I don't know what to tell you. Outside of last year when injuries killed they've been stacked with weapons on offense.
