NFT: King Crimson tour

Gap92 : 9/19/2014 12:10 pm
Anyone seen this tour yet? I'm going tonight and fully expect to have my f'n face melted. Can't wait.

I've seen the mighty Crim three times before, but this lineup has been getting amazing reviews. Setlist is very heavy on the Islands-to-Red years. As a drummer (shit, as a person) I am very much looking forward to seeing the three drummers up front.

No,

I believe you'll be able to download concerts on their site after the tour.

Wow! A name I haven't heard in a long time...

Do you know if they plan on recording any new music? I have been a fan since the 80s and have also seen them three times. I haven't heard anything about a new album - only the tour.
What is..

the lineup for this tour?
Not sure...
Gap92 : 9/19/2014 12:21 pm : link
From what I've read it's possible...I think they've recorded a few bits of new things for a CD they're selling at shows, but it seems to be all up to Fripp re: what they do after the tour.

One thing I read that was interesting is that, after the handful of 2008 dates, the members wanted to continue (Fripp included) but Belew had solo commitments and that was that.

I'm hopeful though.

okie, will definitely chime in with a recap.
..

Tony Levin, Gavin Harrison, Pat Mastelotto ,Jakko Jakszyk, Bill Rieflin, and Fripp (of course).

3 drummers up front (Mastelotto, Bill Rieflin, Gavin Harrison) and then a backline with Fripp, Levin, Mel Collins (sax from way back), and Jakko Jakszyk (guitar/vocals)
Yeah -

definitely post a recap. It's hard for me to imagine what it will sound like with a new vocalist.

Seen them 4 or 5 times, the best was at the Beacon (2005?) with John Paul Jones opening...

Damn three drummers now? Mel Collins back with the band?

Saw the first Philly show
vonritz : 9/20/2014 11:52 am : link
last friday the 12th. Show was great. A lot of older material. Nothing from 80s Crim or Thrak. 1 track from 'Construktion' and 1 from 'Power'. Pretty much every track was changed up from the recordings.
